Dragon Shifter Island #2

Dragon Protected

Can they deny their attraction long enough to catch a criminal?

Emma

Getting kidnapped by a dragon shifter was not part of my job description. I needed to be investigating a crime, not spending time with one of my suspects, tempting though he may be. Too bad he's determined to stay involved and protect me from the stalker I inadvertently acquired.

Falcon

As a dragon clan enforcer, I will risk everything in the line of duty, except my mate. With my clan and job in jeopardy, I should walk away, but she incited an undeniable hunger in my dragon, one I should resist. But there's a problem. Someone is hunting her, and I have to find out why... before it’s too late.

If you love broody alphas, sassy heroines, and hot paranormal romance with a heart, Dragon Protected is for you. Dragon Protected is a standalone in Dragon Shifter Island Series. The books can be read alone but best in order.

Another fabulous book from Scarlett West's Dragon Shifter Island Series!!!
Falcon is a hot, handsome and very broody silver enforcer dragon who's special ability is speed!! He's the fastest of his kind and the best at his job. But when he gets involved with the beautiful smart and sassy cop Emma after a masked dragon set's his sites on her and tries to kidnap her. its a instant attraction for both. And when he has to rescue her and take her to dragon shifter Island he soon realizes that he wants to do more then protect her! Falcon and his dragon want to mate her! But the past has Falcon shying away from mating with this beautiful woman who's life all but mirrors his own and no matter what he feels the fear of losing Emma like his father lost his mother eats at him. Emma never meant a man who wasn't put off by her strength and they all were intimidated by it.So when she is taken by the sexy Falcon to dragon shifter Island not only doesn't she intimidate him, he has the nerve to flirt and banter with her!! Her body proves to be a traitor and Falcon can smell her desire for him! So what happens when a human cop and a enforcer dragon pair up? Some very hot primal sex that's what!!!! Very steamy! The storyline and storytelling is awesome and the characters both interesting and theirs action and the pace well moving. At the end we get a sneak peek at the next book! And I can't wait! All the books in this series are standlones but they do interconnect with secondary characters. If you like your dragons sexy and very alpha this is for you! Until next time Luv's💕💋

I am excited to be back on Dragon Shifter Island, seeing I enjoyed my first visit so much in Dragon Craved. I mean, hunkalicious dragon shifters, a police officer eye witnessing a hit and run and being kidnapped by one of the hunkalicious dragon shifters…I can’t help but see sparks flying and plenty of laughter, seeing Scarlett West’s writing style weaves some fun amongst the danger.

This time, in Protected Dragon, it is Falcon’s turn to share his story. I do love a damaged character who can turn into a silvery, flying dragon. I envy Emma, when she gets the opportunity to take to the skies with Falcon.

There is so much more to the story than just a hit and run. Emma doesn’t know it yet, but she’s a draca, a human that shares dragon blood and able to become a mate of a full blooded dragon. They are so important to the clans, because dragons are dying out Draglings…how cute is that. I want to read about baby dragons.

The dialogue had me, at times, laughing out loud, so beware of reading in a public place.

Saaamokin’, fiery hot sex sets my reader on fire! I love that Emma didn’t jump right into the sack, even though she had met Falcon in the first book and was verrrry attracted to him.

Sarnai is Emma’s best friend, her only ‘family’ she has left. They bring her to Dragon Island to protect her, but she gets caught in the crossfire. I think we know who’s story is next. How about it Torin? Are you ready to tell your story?

I highly recommend anything written by Scarlett West. She writes of vampires, werewolves, and the fae bureau of investigation, sure to capture a fantasy lovers’ heart.

I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of Dragon Protected by Scarlett West.

Book 2 in Scarlett West’s Dragon Shifter Island is Falcon and Emma’s story. We first met them in book 1 when Falcon got injured after a car bombing and Emma was at the scene as a police officer. They both have similar jobs, with Falcon being an enforcer (the dragon equivalent of a police officer).
The meet again when Emma tries to arrest Falcon for a hit and run when he is chased by who he thinks is another dragon shifter from a rival clan. However, Falcon ends up saving Emma when the other dragon shifter tries to take her. She ends up on shifter island for her protection until they can solve the case of who is after her - much to her disagreement!
Falcon and Emma are very slow to connect as Falcon has a lot of insecurities from his past and refuses to take a mate in case the past repeats itself. So if you are looking for a speedy romance, this isn’t going to happen. It is definitely worth the wait though. Eventually, the stubborn Falcon realises what an idiot he is being!
I’m not usually a fan of series with different characters in each book as I like to follow a couple’s journey throughout a series but this series is changing my view as I now can’t wait to read about Stryker finding his mate, although Torin finds his at the end of the book so I’m assuming the next will follow his and Sarnai’s journey.

Falcon, a dragon enforcer for his clan, finds himself in a bad situation. Driving recklessly in the jam world while trunks to lose a tail he commits a hit and run and both him and his assailant are pulled over my Emma, a police Sargeant. At gunpoint both Falcon and the assailant exit their vehicle when suddenly the masked man moves to attack Emma and Falcon reacts with his dragon speed and saves Emma.
He must take Emma to his clan’s island/headquarters to let his Alpha know what has happened. He lands in his dragon form and eases Emma to the ground and changes back to his human form, completely nude. Emma is not accustomed to any of the dragons’ customs except for the treaty between humans and dragon clans.

It is soon revealed that Emma was the target of the masked man all along. Emma’s roommate Sarnai is kidnapped shortly after the incident and getting her back is all that matters to Emma. That and seeing Falcon prosecuted in human court for the hit and run.

Underneath all this drama lies a connection between Falcon and Emma that is undeniable but neither wants to explore or admit.

Read the book and see if Sarnai is found alive and if the stalker finally gets his hands on Emma.

Will Falcon and Emma figure out just how deep their connection is before it’s too late for them both?

When you open the pages and enter the world where shifters and humans have an "agreement" on a mutual level, you will find it complicates Falcon and Emma's situation. Falcon is a stubborn dragon shifter enforcement officer for his clan. Emma is a police officer and human. Their lives collide while Emma is on duty, and Falcon does a hit and run. Falcon's protective side flares when another dragon shifter makes moves for Emma. He swoops in and carries her away from the danger. This is where their journey together begins.

The story builds well, is fast-paced, and stays focused on the relationship of Falcon and Emma. I found the dialogue frustrating to read at times because the flow was off for me. Confusing who was speaking due to the author's writing style. The intimate scenes were a 3/5, and I would have enjoyed more descriptions and longer sessions. Every time, it left me wanting more.

Overall, I enjoyed this shifter romance for a quick read to pass the time.

This book is full of romantic chemistry and tension. Emma is a police officer on the main land and Falcon is a Dragon Enforcer so they basically have the same job.

Once they meet, all that romantic tension and attraction starts. It’s intense. Emma tries to resist it. Falcon tries to resist it. They both last longer than I would have. Their chemistry together is off the charts and leaps right off the page. They both have similar reasons for resisting but it does get to the point where you want to pull each one aside and tell them to get over it cuz you can see how awesome they are together. Great writing!

Loved the story line. Loved Falcon’s Dragon. It’s almost another character which I loved. Falcon argues with him. It comes across as more than just an inner voice but not quite a completely separate character. It was awesome and gorgeous!! Don’t forget gorgeous. Love Dragons.

This book is part of the series but I read it as a stand alone. It was fine. I didn’t feel like I was missing anything. But I’m definitely going back to read the first book and looking forward to the rest of the series.

Loved Emma and Falcon’s story !! Lots of twists and turns as well as Falcon standing in his own way in not wanting to claim his mate ! Great characters, continuity from book one is in line and book 3 is set up in the last chapter for Sarnai’s coming story. A true 4✨ paranormal romance with second and third chances at getting it right ! I received a copy of the book from the Author and am choosing to leave a review.

This is a great steamy dragon shifter romance where the fmc (Emma) is strong and and sassy and the mmc (Falcon) is hot and broody! Falcon is an enforcer for the dragons and Emma is a cop for the humans and she tries to bring him in for a hit and run. Things soon develop between them and the storyline grows and chaos ensues as Emma’s roommate is kidnapped. Fast paced and full of drama, danger, the storyline pulls you in and I cannot wait to see where the author takes us next!

Stubborn, cutting off your nose to spite your face. It all is the same thing. Some times being stubborn can cause more harm then good. Falcon is not helping, himself or Emma. The logic going through his head is scary. Very good story, full of steam too. I received a complimentary review copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Dragon Magnetism. 4.5*’s
A quick jump into this turbulent human/dragon world took me a few chapters to sort out as I have not read book one in the series. I had to smile at how both Falcon and Emma with such similar jobs, and perhaps personalities, just seem to clash at every turn. Hearing each other’s point of view provided a deeper glimpse into who they were. However, I just didn’t expect the bulk of their inner dialogues to be erotica/sexy time themed. Perhaps this is just the dragon/draca way? In the end it was enjoyable seeing past vulnerabilities addressed and overcome.

Falcon is a dragon enforcer for Dragon Shifter Island. Emma is a sergeant with the San Diego police department. Both are considered to be police officers, but with different jurisdictions, and those jurisdictions are detailed in “the agreement” between the two governments. Unbeknownst to Emma, she is a rare draca, a human able to mate with a dragon and produce offspring. The chemistry between these two is instantaneous because they are fated mates, but neither want to act on it because of their jobs. Falcon kidnaps Emma to keep her safe from stalkers, while Emma wants to arrest Falcon for a hit and run committed in San Diego. This is the story of how they survive each other while she is being held on Dragon Shifter Island, working on a case together.

This is an engaging story about two characters that have abandonment issues from the past they each must work through. The author gives the characters the opportunity to grow and change. I liked the main and supporting characters. I enjoyed the banter between Falcon and Emma, between Falcon and Stryker, and between Falcon and Torin. I thought Torin was hilarious, and a good, supportive friend. The epilogue lets us know that Torin will get his story next. I can’t wait!

Falcon is a dragon enforcer who protects his dragon clan. He lost both his parents at five when his father failed to protect them both. Emma is a human police officer tasked with protecting humans. When she runs afoul of a hit and run, pulls Falcon and another man over, things go from bad to worse. Falcon knows she is his mate and a Draca. She has not one clue. Things are precarious because of the agreement between the humans and dragons. He is wanted on a charge from the night he took Emma to protect her.

Someone has been after her for a while. They will kidnap her roomie, her BFF, to get her to come to them. There are several attempts to take her, but none succeed. The males have no scent…are they human, shifter, or both? Meanwhile, as they continue to grow closer, Falcon refuses to act upon the mate bond…even at the expense of exile, house arrest, and death~ He is making both of them suffer needlessly. What will be the final decision for him? Will Emma be taken? Will they survive either situation?

I liked the story. How they met and then what follows was intriguing. Of course Emma almost throughout the story wants to arrest Falcon for the crime he committed. :)
He was in denial , and not wanting to hurt Emma, because of his past. I liked the way she helped get him through the hurtles of acceptance.
Falcon is very protective of Emma and for good reason. Actually a couple of reasons. (not spoilers)
Both are enforcers/cops so they both have high morals and are strong, stubborn to a point.
I liked the perfect HEA for them. I also liked Sryker and his attitude.
This is a standalone ,but includes characters from the previous book so should probably be read in order.
The ending of the book gives you a glimpse of the next dragon to hopefully get his HEA and fated mate. He will have a challenge on his hands.

Loved It!

Emma was an independent cop who could look after herself. After endless relationships that had gone wrong, she wasn’t looking for someone new!

Falcon was a Dragon enforcer, he didn’t want a mate, he needed to concentrate on his job and clan plus with his past hang ups he would never claim a mate.

An emotional action packed steamy read full of witty moments with an unlikely couple with past issues they needed to overcome and a possessive but stubborn dragon shifter who loved her too much to claim her.

A great addition to this series and well worth a read! Looking forward to the next in the series!

I voluntarily read and reviewed this ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Great read, I was a little irritated with Falcon's stubborn resistance took way too long and something dramatic for him to get his head out of his ass but that being said I loved him and how he took care of Emma. Emma had her issues as well but handled them better. She's a strong kick ass woman and I loved her as well. Good resolution and I can't wait for Torin and Sarnai's story there will be a lot of angst but I'm sure Torin is up for the job! Lol I definitely would recommend this series of stand alone but would encourage you read them all since characters show up in each from other books. I received a copy from the author but my opinions are my own

This book is something that could be better, i felt it was too wordy and repetitive. Emma is a police officer on the main land and Falcon is a Dragon Enforcer so they basically have the same job. Caught with Falcon creating a crime, he ends up saving her and sweeping her off to Dragon Island.
Once they meet, all that romantic tension and attraction starts. It’s intense. Emma tries to resist it. Falcon tries to resist it. Plus the crime looming over Falcon, that Emma can't get past.
This is just my opinion and it certainly shouldn't effect others as it could have been my state of mind at the time.
Please try this and all the books in this series.

Very Engaging
When two strong protagonist collide magic happens; this is Falcon and Emma’s story. Both are alpha protectors in an unexpectedly intense situation of an unwanted mutual attraction. This tale is filled with gripping intrigue, and immense danger. Falcon and Emma must face significant obstacles if they are to have an HEA.

A dragon shifter romance. The two main characters are so alike. She’s an officer and he’s an enforcer. But when it comes to their relationship they definitely clash. I love how they meet and how the relationship evolves. There is no easy or instant love as each of them comes with their own past. Pasts that have marked and changed them. But a danger is stalking her. As a dragon, he will stop at nothing to protect her, even from himself. But is that what she wants?

The story is well written and sucks you right in! Falcon, a dragon enforcer and Emma a cop get into an altercation and Falcon saves and kidnaps Emma. The chemistry is off the charts and the push/pull is fantastic! Megan is such a sassy and strong character I just love it that Falcon tries to reason with her, like what dude seriously?! Lol! Don't you love when dragons get taken down by us human females...I do!

Because of what happened with his parents when he was little, he refuses to have a mate, even when fate shows her to him.
She knows dragons exist, but doesn't expect to get flown away by one.
He's not just tormenting his dragon, he's pushing her to her limit.
Until it's almost too late.
Good thing his clan and mate are more determined.

Falcon and Emma are divine. I should read book one and come back to this one for sure. I have never read a dragon shifter story and believe me when I say if you haven't you will not be disappointed! There relationship is a rush and I don't mean they went to fast I mean you can feel the emotion in the story and I loved that so much!

This is the story of how Emma and Falcon really meet and the trouble that seems to be happening around them. A steamy read as these two fall hard for each other and try to work their way through their past issues that leads to some interesting interactions and trouble. Luckily get a happy ending but not before surviving danger and trouble. I laughed and groaned but was entertained.

DNF.

I just could not get into Scarlett’s writing. I try. She seems like the kind of person everyone has a kind word for (via her emails).

Her writing style doesn’t match my taste, and the dual POV is not my thing.
You just need to try a sample to see if her writing is fine for you, but I only lasted two chapters, so I cannot make a rating.

What a page turner! I’m a little biased because dragons are my favorite but the writing and flow of this book is easy to follow and fun to read. There were some twists and turns that I didn’t expect and some that I’m guessing might show up in the next book or two in this series. What’s so nice about these books is that you can read them in a series or as a stand alone and no cliffhangers!

Really enjoyed this. Part of a series but also standalone. Falcon is an enforcer, Emma is a cop. They clash when he's involved in a hit and run. These two create lots of steam. The story pulls you in nicely. Can't wait to see what happens next in this world.

It all started with a car chase. Falcon the MMC happens to be an enforcer for the dragon clan that he belongs to. He meets up with Emma the FMC who is a police officer for San Diego. This was a good book with the right amount of steaminess to get your thoughts racing and your heart beating for Falcon and Emma to come together.
I received a complimentary ARC from the author for a fair and honest review.
