Even when mothers are highly motivated to breastfeed, when faced with obstacles―like pain, worries about milk production, and difficulty pumping―they may begin to question their good intentions. In situations like these, is weaning the best answer? Or are there simple ways to overcome challenges and meet their breastfeeding goals? Breastfeeding Solutions is the perfect book for any new mother who wants quick, practical solutions to common breastfeeding problems. The book includes illustrations, tables and charts, and other visual aids to make it easy to quickly find the answers without wading through hundreds of pages of text. Breastfeeding is one of the best things a mother can do. This book will help mothers overcome the hurdles so they can start cherishing this special time with their child.
Okay when I won it from GoodReads I really never thought I would like it. I have read every piece of paper on pregnancy and children as my doctor printed and a few books as well. This book was not only interesting but it was also full of unknown information. Like the part about yeast infections; I never knew it could effect breastfeeding. I highly urge anyone who wants to be an informed parent to buy this book and read it! I am placing my copy next to What you Expect When Your Expecting. This is in my opinion the finest work for breastfeeding mothers to buy. Most information is generalized but this is in-depth and focused.
No but in all seriousness, (this is coming from a 19 year old) this book was to say the least, an interesting read! I'm going to pass it onto someone who's actually breastfeeding and hope they take more from it than me! Highly recommended for soon to be moms and since Mother's Day is coming up why not get this book as a gift?
I wish I had read this months ago when I first starting breast feeding. It is a very good place to start before you have problems as well as an easy to navigate reference for after you're having difficulty.
I got this book through my Birthing Class’ Breast Feeding Class.
I really enjoyed the simple layout & easy, to the point, non-judgmental tips. It has a lot of great drawings to help communicate the ideas. I learned a lot from it & would highly suggest it to any new mother or veteran mother who is experiencing some issues with a new babe.
The book is divided into chapters - ‘Latching Struggles’, ‘Nipple Pain’, ‘Breast Pain’, ‘Pumping’, ‘Weaning’, etc. - & each chapter goes into potential problems & solutions regarding that topic. Super helpful if you just need to read some quick tips! Or even if you don’t know anything about those problems, it’s nice to read & know they can happen, so if it does happen to you, you don’t freak out or think the worst. Although I do wish the Contents at the beginning of the book gave more details as to what problems were discussed within each chapter for easier/faster reference. But that’s just a personal preference.
All in all I found this book to be a super fast read & super helpful! (The size of the book is also small, which I found easy to stuff in my purse on the go.)
A good quick reference guide with essential information. Set up like a question and answer book so its easy to skim and find what you need and what doesn't apply to you.
An important go-to resource on all things breastfeeding. I would highly recommend to all first time moms who are interested in breastfeeding their child.
This was a great book. Easy to flip through and find questions when you need the answers. A great reference when you find what you are doing is not working. I am passing this one on to a couple of friends who are due soon.
I am so thankful not to have any problems with breast-feeding this go-round. I wish I had read this with my first child who was a cluster feeder. My back would have hurt less.
