“I dare you to sit without moving or speaking for ten minutes.”
Kali sat back in surprise. “That’s it?” She thought about it for a moment. “I suppose that’s your snide way of telling me I talk too much. Well, fine.” She turned to face the speaker at the front of the room, her arms folded and a sour expression on her face.
Under the cover of the tablecloth, Luke put his hand on her thigh.
She jerked away in outrage, only just stopping herself from saying something out loud.
Did he think he could win the game that easily? Well, she was made of tougher stuff than he realized. She wasn’t an innocent schoolgirl now, who could be overwhelmed by a simple touch.
His eyes met hers as he found her leg again.
The big hand circling her thigh was blatantly possessive. When she tried to pull away he gripped her harder, tighter.
And then, finally, she understood.
This was the dare. She had to sit here for ten minutes while he…what? Exactly how far was he planning to take this?
Luke seemed cool and detached, his blue eyes giving nothing away. His face had never looked more handsome or more remote.
Then his fingers moved again, softly, massaging the muscles just above her knee.
And one corner of his mouth rose half an inch.

I really do like Kate Grey as a writer, she has the ability to write novella's with an erotic edge that encompass and titilate, making the experience an enjoyable one. She has a fluent voice and even though her story's are short, they are difficult to put down and can only be properly enjoyed when consumed in one fell swoop.
I just wish she would push the boat out and go for a full length novel, as she has more than enough talent to do so, and I would definitely invest in whatever she puts her hand to in the future.

Me gustó muchisimo. Le puse tres porque es corto, y fue tan rapido. Me hubiese gustado unaaconfrontacion mas lenta, mas... poco a poco. Pero en lineas generales, me gustó mucho. Es cierto que las limitaciones, nos las ponemos nosotros mismos por nuestros miedos.

Es una historia romántica corta en donde los protagonistas se conocían desde la infancia, pero por mal entendidos, terminan alejándose.
Años después vuelven a encontrarse y las chispas saltan a la vista.

Un libro corto, que se lee super rápido y me pareció normal!! El conflicto entre ellos me pareció algo estúpido... pero bueh para pasar el rato esta bien!!

I really enjoyed this book. In the past, I've stayed away from short, novella length books because I was left unsatisfied at the end of the story. But I loved this one.
Anyone who knows me knows that I'm a sucker for a book with actors or celebrities in it. This was no exception. Another thing I like...characters with a past relationship or connection. The author did a great job of throwing in some memories of the characters' past together so it didn't feel like their relationship was extremely rushed.
I do wish this had been longer but I can't complain because I did enjoy it.

Simple y adorable
En este caso encontramos una pareja con excelente química, es un libro bastante rápido de leer, tal vez hasta caemos en el es muy rápido te deja una sensación de que el final es apurado y tal vez un epilogo no nos hubiera dejado esa idea. En general entretuvo.

This is a short good read!!
I love Kate Grey!! She leaves you wanting so much more of the story but you don't feel cheated.
This book is about high school sweethearts...well they were kind of sweethearts. They were really good friends who understood each other. Caroline was a rich girl who loved to write stories and Luke was a poor boy from the wrong side of the tracks who wanted to be an actor. He had many girlfriends but had a soft spot in his heart for Caroline. His senior year, he got the guts to try to take it further and she ended standing him up at prom... :(
About 10 years later...
He is a famous actor in hollywood...she is a producer/writer/director of Indie films. Luke finds out she is in the works to create a new show and he wants in...he travels to New York and is trying to force himself into the show. Caroline, who is now going by Kali, wants nothing to do with him. She is serious about her work and really thinks the only reason that he is there is for revenge...
At first, that is his intention but he can't get over her...he has wanted her for so long. He has loved her for so long...
It is great to see the experiences they go through in order to bring to light the feelings they have for each other...
Did I mention that this book is also HOT!!!

I didn't realize when I started this one that is was a short story. It has only 77 pages and if I had noticed that I never would have read it because I have never really been able to enjoy too many short stories. I just feel like it's too rushed most of the time and the characters don't pull me in. I am so glad that I tried this one out, though. This is one of the few that I really enjoyed. Because of the fact that the plot was a together in high school but separated by a misunderstanding book, their feelings for each other were explained but almost immediately established already so we didn't have to rush through each stage of the relationship. It was all about them meeting up again and dealing with the feelings that never really went away. Very enjoyable. I may have to check out what else this author has to offer.

This had everything I love in a great romance novel(la) - sucked me right in, good interaction, emotion, sexy alpha hero, relateable heroine, steamy sex. Really enjoyed this from start to finish. Nicely done hint of suspense and mystery about what happened between them in the past. I laughed out loud at his purposefully cheeky "You're cute when you're angry." Squirmed in the best way at the just right amount of alpha dominance sex scene. Cheered at her realizations and owning up to her feelings at the end. Liked Kate's first book, loved this one, can't wait for the next!

When Kali said those words back to Luke.. my mouth fell open and I couldn't believe what was happening! When she left, I wanted to give her a high five.. that was priceless.. Wow! Still makes me laugh a little thinking about that situation!

I enjoyed Kali as a dedicate, smart woman who was a little socially enept but once she found something she loved to do, writing and creating TV shows and movies, she goes at it full force. She is casting a new TV show called Ghosts where and old "friend" Luke wants to be casts in her show. He actually wants to get over his feelings for her that he has carried for 10 years, but by being near her again, he falls for her again. It is a very sweet story!

This was a much better storyline compared to Kate Grey's previous book.
Luke was an almost-perfect combination of arrogant, hot and sweet. And Kali was the strong yet vulnerable girl that he hasn't been able to forget.
A short (too short!) and sweet read. Definitely worth the money paid.

Woah!
Short, sweet and sexy! I didn't anticipate that it would be good despite it's shortness but the author made it good though.
The plot is promising and the naughty scenes are awesome and I am wishing there could have been more. Nevertheless it was good!

Kali and Luke knew each other when they were teens. Now Luke lived inLis Angeles and was a movie star. Kali lived in New York and wrote, produced and directed tv shows. It had been ten years since they had seen each other but there were unanswered issues from the past.

realmente disfrute de esta historia... es algo refresante ligero y entretenido... logro atraparme en los primeros parrafos y aunq todo se desarrolla con bastante rapidez se puede realmente ver la historia completa ... me encanto luke!! que mas puedo decir??

This was a amazing short read of 7 chapters. The hero was delicious and alpha to the T without any of that misogynistic master/sub vibe. So glad I bought this ebook!
