Remember Me

Rate this book
Cassandra has lost three years of her life as the result of a vicious physical assault, which resulted in amnesia. In her dreams, however, the image of a child haunts her, and she feels she should know him. In the care of Dr. Brett Parker, an unscrupulous and shady physician she trusts, she thinks he has her best interests at heart. But does he? And what dark secrets may he be harboring? Will she ever remember her past, and her family?

For three years, billionaire Granger Mortensen’s pride has kept him from pursuing the wife who suddenly and inexplicably abandoned him and his son. But his young son wants answers, answers to why his mother left, so he begins a search to find those answers and have closure, one way or the other.

But unbeknownst to both Granger and Cassandra, there are people who will stop at nothing to keep them apart, and possess them for themselves, even if it means murder.

Started with a lot of potential, really liked Granger and Cassandra but this was far too long. If it had just stuck to their story and not went into so much background about secondary characters it would have been so much better.
It was just okay, probably more 2.5* for me.

2.0⭐️ I was really excited to start this book. I was undaunted by the 680 pages, so long as it kept me fully engaged—and it did do that. The amnesia plotline, one of my favorite themes, and the story arcs are interesting.

Unfortunately, there are far too many secondary characters introduced, and they each have their own stories to tell. Accordingly, I presuppose that such a tremendous undertaking requires even more continuity and seamless transitions of character and story arcs that weave all these elements together.

In this case, however, there are incomplete stories, confusing stories and stories for which neither a nexus is drawn nor the critical origins of particular arcs are established. In my opinion, those missing elements of the book are imperative. Notwithstanding, there are a few intriguing pivotal characters and concomitant events that captivated me, and I waited to learn more. To my dismay, these aspects of the book in particular are left dangling and are inexplicably missing.

In all, amid the morass, this book produced some very memorable characters, including the most depraved and evil villains. Moreover, the book is enjoyable and full of suspense, but the flaws are too numerous, including editing issues. I know this book was published some years ago; however, I really think here lies a gem waiting to emerge, after reworking all of the broken parts. Hmmm, something to think about?

Boring. I can't believe I have to say this but the book was too long. There was too much going on yet at the same time, a whole lot of nothing going on. Too much time was spent on the side characters and their stories which I didn't care about.

It was good, I mean really good. Murder, mystery suspense and everything included. I loved that the reader knew who was behind everything but the characters didn't. Not once did the author slip up. For 680 pages 5.99 was a good price. I felt that I got my moneys worth. Lies, money, and manipulation are a big part of this book. Some characters from the other book of hers was in here as well and I thought that that was a nice surprise. I also loved that they were married. That happily ever after doesn't happen. That there are still some struggles that need to be ironed out before everything can be ok. It didn't rate a five star for me because I felt that the ending was a little abrupt. There was a lot of secondary character (it got confusing sometimes) and it seemed like their stories just stopped. I wanted more closure. I needed something a little extra. But other than that it was good. There is some mature content and unhealthy longings in this book but ok.

I liked this book but this book is about several people the main Characters are Granger and Cassandra but there is romance through out this book . The author must be writing a second book because She started romances but we don't know the out come so I will be patiently waiting the next book. Granger and Cass story will real you in from the beginning You will root for them and get frustrated when they have a set back , but you will keep reading because you want them to be happy and for things to turn out right for them. Once you finish this book you will not be disappointed with the ending but you will will want more of this story told.

read 2nd time 10/9/16

Many Threads

Remember Me by Priscilla Poole Rainwater was first published in 2012. The book is lengthy with a complex plot and several important secondary characters, several POVs, and more storylines than could be resolved. HOWEVER, I did enjoy the narrative even as I scoffed at some of the holes in plotting (the book was sort of like an old-fashioned soap opera, Mrs. Chandler is that your son, Vickie Lord is that you, or is that Nicki?). Billionaire Granger Mortensen stoically carried on after the love of his life walked out and left him to raise their young child alone. Finally ready for closure and putting his pride aside, he decides to search for his missing wife. After a brutal attack, Cassandra Mortensen is living another woman’s life; she has no recollection of existence other than the past three years. She has a few good friends, but no one is more supportive than her physician, Dr. Brett Parker. His was the first face she saw when she regained consciousness. With Granger looking for his wife and Cassandra looking for her life, how will their worlds collide? I enjoyed that the villains in this story are in plain sight, the reader doesn’t have to wonder about their actions or motivations, even if sometimes it seemed like they were able to outsmart EVERYONE. In addition to the main couple, Ms. Rainwater gives us FOUR other booed up couples, with varying degrees of closure, I commend her ability to keep us invested in that many love stories. The only areas where we didn’t get a real sense of closure involved the storylines for some of Granger’s mother’s actions, Raven, her sisters, Dr. Santo and the real Karen Washington. I enjoyed this story in all its murky glory. PSA…. some of the language is dated and somewhat socially insensitive.

Four days to read, be prepared

This book was good. It was too long not to finish the life of all those people lives you wrote about. The only real finish that I was happy about was Brett and Martini. Everyone else life was scattered. With almost700 pages, you couldn't finish an ending? There was grammar you used that irked me to my core "had did" or "have did". They don't go together. It is like me saying "they doesn't" go together. The book had funny parts, too. I had to rest from reading one of your long books. It going to take two days to read another book by someone else. You had a lot of characters. A tad bit of a turn off.

DO NOT WALK..........RUUUNNN TO GET THIS BOOK

I love this book. It took me WEEKS to read this book. But it was never boring and worth every single second. This novel has EVERYTHING. I usually do not like books with excessive characters, but, each character was necessary and integral to the overall storyline. This novel explores the depth of humanity by showing how some people can change and then how others are inherently rotten to the core with no chance of redemption.

I laughed, I cried... Excellent offering by this author, and I look forward to more in the future.

What a great book! I loved every word. I love this author and her writing skills and ability to tell a story; she just needs an editor to tweak the grammar- she goes in and out of past and present tense at the wrong time sometimes but her stories are phenomenal and while they may run a tad too long (says a reader who loves a big, thick book to read) she tells such a good story and has so many great stories she is one of the few authors that can cut her novels in half as to give great characters like Malcom, Satin, Zeke, etc. their own stories because all are awesome! I just love that Granger and Cassandra got their much deserved happy ending and that Brett and Martina met with justice. This is the second book where Raven has appeared and I am dying to know her story. Keep writing you have a real gift and I can’t wait to read more and hopefully soon!

Not for the one dimensional reader

If you like simple plots and minimal storylines this author is not for you. However if you Luke soap opera storylines with suspense, love, murder, comedy, drama, and action then Priscilla Poole Rainwater is for you. I enjoyed remember me and thought it was woven together nicely I couldn't give it a 5 because the new characters would never slow and I feel Nicolas storyline was rushed while satins was too much. However I will be reading more of this author's.

This is a good story but I think the problem is there is too much going on, there is extra story to each character and it makes it a very long book.
I have read similar books from other authors and they managed to tell other characters stories by writing more than one boom but this was done without recovering the ground already covered in the first book, this isn't easily done but I think it would have been an excellent idea.

The amnesia story is really good and covered well and the storyline is excellent it's just too much in one go.

There were too many different stories that ruined what could have been an excellent book. It felt like the set up for 10 different books. While the main characters were given too much background, there were too many other romantic couples added to the equation that had too much background to be support or not enough to really make them relevant.

there is a lot to this book and I felt very good with the length however the evil in the story and the lack of back bone of the herione was a little too much. and all the othe supporting characters needed thier own stories.

I loved the premiss of this book but it just was too long and not organized enough... A lot of scenes could be cut.. I got to 45% and i just couldn't read on.
