Rate this book
More than one person had a motive to murder Senator Coulson, including Kim’s high school sweetheart, the boy who got her pregnant and broke her heart. Tragically, Kim's mother was killed as well. Was it a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time, or was her murder intentional?

Kim returns to her hometown to unravel the mystery of her mother’s death, only to find more than she bargained for – a mysterious half brother she never knew existed, the father who abandoned her, and there is someone trying to prevent her from discovering the truth. Will she find the key to unlock the Senator’s secret, before someone else dies?

As I read this great series about the Coulson family/Coulson town, I realize that it's easier to read a book with offensive sex scenes than one with offensive language. The sex is easier to skip than constant language. The books become more enjoyable as we learn even more about this complicated family.

Wow, what a change from the previous books! This book was wonderful, and held my attention throughout. I'm so glad I didn't give up on this series after the first two books. It would be interesting to know what happened to cause such a change, but perhaps it is just more experience, or maybe the author is settling into her role as an author and storyteller but this book is the best by far. The characters are real, dimensional people, and the storyline was a good one. I really am looking forward to the next book.

Kim Myers never knew her father, the secret died when her mother was murdered with Senator Harrison Coulson. When she returns to her hometown to bury her mother, the secrets of Senator Coulson unravels. Adam Keller is Kim's high school love, they have a past together. Yet, as the days pass and he is framed for her mother's murder, Kim is forced to re evaluate her feelings about her mother and Adam. Only to discover, she found love with a man she believed was her half brother. It's an interesting mystery as the secrets revealed points to the murderer and why they chose to kill. It's also a coming of age story for Kim, learning the truth about her parents and being accepted by the family of her biological father.

It's safe to say that I am shocked.

I read this book with the presumption that I would be reading another book about a daughter looking into her mother's murder and findings an affair gone wrong. This book gave a lot of nice and unexpected twist. I am really pleased that sometimes good can come out of a tragic situation.

Lots off twist.

This is another new author for me. I enjoyed the plot of the story but was able to predict a lot of what happened. That being said it was a very intriguing book and now I feel I must catch up with the previous books.
