About the author

Waki Yamato (大和和紀) is a Japanese mangaka.

She is most famous for Asakiyumemishi, her adaptation of the Tale of Genji.

At one time, she formed some sort of association with IGARASHI Yumiko and TADATSU Youko. These three were also instrumental in revitalizing shoujo manga, but unlike the Year 24 Group, they are known for more traditional stories of love and romance.

Siamo in dirittura d'arrivo ma questo manga lo trovo sempre stupendo.

E Benio finisce in prigione accusata di attività anti-governitive. Fuori tutti si mobilitano per salvarla, dentro lei è tutta tranquilla. Credo sia la parte più assurda dell'intera serie. Complice anche la caratterizzazione delle altre carcerate.

Il tira e molla tra Benio e Shinobu non mi entusiasma, ma il resto della storia regge bene. Da un lato in caporedattore e i suoi sentimenti per Benio; Tamaki e Onijima. Perfino la capocella torna in scena ed è francamenta insopportabile. Quasi peggio di Tsumeko.

E poi c'è il matrimonio, da celebrarsi la mattina del 1° settembre 1923.

Il giorno del grande terremoto del Kanto.
