Vampire bodyguard Quinn has lived the last 200 years as a playboy trying in vain to forget the only woman he has ever loved: his human wife Rose, who he believes to be dead.
But Rose is very much alive. Now a vampire herself, she has lived in hiding from Quinn all of these years, having faked her death to hide from him a terrible secret—one she knows would drive him to kill her.
When a powerful and evil vampire threatens to destroy Rose’s—and Quinn’s— only living descendent, she has no choice but to come out of hiding and ask for Quinn’s help. As Quinn struggles with the shock of Rose’s reappearance, and they reunite to battle a common foe, they rekindle the flames of their past. But will the passion that reignites between them be enough to overcome the secret that separates them?

This one was disappointing. So Quinn's wife Rose, who has been dead for two centuries apparently isn't dead. She contacts Quinn because she needs his help to save the great, great, great, great, great, great grandchild he never knew he had.
Someone has some explaining to do, except she won't do it until her Blake is safe. Quinn is enraged but Rose offers Scanguard a million dollars to protect Blake. In addition, Quinn needs answers as to why his wife has been lying to him and hopefully it will help him find closure in a marriage that seemingly has no meaning for her.
This one wasn't believeable. The reason Rose gave for lack of contact AND failing to tell aquinn he had a child, was so inadequate that I thought Quinn should have found it insulting. 200 years should have made her wiser but she is still a woman who kept her own counsel and NEVER trusted him even here after he proved himself to her. I didn't like Rose nor did I feel their chemistry. This one was a let down and Quinn forgave her way to easily. I suspect that he felt lonely especially watching Zane, Amaury, Gab and everyone else with their bonded mates. So Quinn settled for a woman who doesn't trust him enough to share her secrets.
Ok, this series has been on my TBR list for a while. I tend to get sidetracked very easily and just hadn't gotten to it yet. Then I won #6 and read it first. Now I am mad at myself for not having started at the beginning! (This tends to happen to me a lot ;))
This book was awesome! It was all about super hot vampires and they have this kick ass bodyguard agency. To recap: Quinn and Rose were married in the 1800's. They were madly in love but Rose came from a wealthy family and her father refused to give Quinn his blessing to marry her, so they did it in secret. Starting off with a forbidden love affair, always a classic! Quinn decides to head off to the war in order to become a decorated officer so Rose's daddy will let them wed. Oops, he didn't plan on getting almost killed, then turned into a vampire! Oh, well their love can withstand anything, right? Apparently not as Rose freaks the eff out and tells him to get lost. She also failed to let him in on the fact she'd given birth to his child.... Quinn is heartbroken and heads to New York where he eventually joins the Scanguards. Meanwhile, Rose is turned into a vampire and goes into hiding and leads everyone, including Quinn, to believe she's dead. 200 years later, Rose is in need of the hunky, now playboy extraordinaire, Quinn's assistance in protecting their only living blood relative from a crazy ass vampire with vengeance on his mind. Yeah, we'll say that was the shock of the century for Quinn! Seeing as he'd harbored feelings for Rose all this time, the last thing he expected was for her to show up alive, well undead as she's a vamp, but also that he had a child he never knew of. From here we have secrets, betrayal, trust issues, oh did I mention the smokin hot sex to 'rid himself of her' part? No? Well its there! I only wish it had been there more! *wink wink* Reconciliations, awesome battles of wills with a modern day brothel thrown in for good measure! I can only imagine whats in store for me when I go back and read the first 5 books! I so can't wait either! One other thing I'd like to mention, I really liked how this book incorporated humans and vampires getting along and working together in a modern day way. Very refreshing for the vampires to not always be hiding in the dark or sparkling in the light... :)
Conclusion: 4.5 stars of awesomeness here you should go read!
I have a confession to make… I’ve read every book in this series, but for some ungodly reason, I never reviewed any of the books till now… Why… I don’t know… but it looks like I’m going to have to go back and reread them all… not a bad thing either… this series is one of my favorites and I’ve recommended it… I don’t know how many times!!! A gazillion maybe!!! Anywho… I’ve been waiting for a book on Quinn… he always intrigued me to say the least!!! I was glad to see that the girl that was chosen for him was a girl that had already been in his life and was (for all intensive purposes), the one that got away!!!
Rose is my hero… beautiful, strong, sexy, and smart!! I do like damsels in distress, but give me a strong woman anytime…and strong she is!! I know she’s coming to Quinn for help… but doesn’t that still make her a strong woman that she knows when to ask for help??
The plot and pace were good… kept me glued to the Kindle for a day… I was an emotional wreck though… ups and downs in every chapter… holy cowz!!! It’s was 253 pages of an emotional roller coaster… thank you Tina Folsom for making me act like I was PMSing that day!!! My poor husband!!
I’m so glad that this family of vampires is so close… it’s good to see and hear them in the newer books… makes you feel like you’re a part of their continued story… I sure do miss Samson, Gabriel, Amaurie, Zane, and the rest of the bunch!!!
Not sure if this is the last installment of the Scansguard Vamps, but I’ll be crossing my fingers for more to come… 4.5 stars…
Tina Folsom never disappoints with her Scanguards Series, each book is fresh and new. The Vampires can't get any Hawter!! YUM

My thoughts:
This edition of the series for me had a completely different spin then some of the others. The historical feel offsetting the modern. The love of two people 200 years ago and how it affected the couple as the centuries passes. As TF weaves her story I love how characters from other books are still the secondary characters in all the books so the characters become fully dimensional by the time we hit their stories and keep growing as the series moves a head.
My one complaint is that Quinn was supposed to be this big playboy but Rose never brings it up and it is never discussed. I would think it would be something that would need to be discussed and resolved. Especially if Quinn takes Rose back to New York where she will run into some of his conquests. To me it felt like a thread was left dangling.
I have heard Oliver's story is next up as book 7 in the series. I say this with a whine in my voice because I am so anxious for Thomas and Eddie to get their HEA!! But rumour has it we have several books before we get to that point. *glares at Tina Folsom* I want! Thomas *grin*
Solid 4 Stars for book 6 in the Scanguards Vampire series. I love how consistently good this series is..It never lets you down. Now to wait for Oliver!
Firstly I maybe a little bias as I LOVE this book series !!! For me it is one of the best and my favorite romantic/erotic vampire series. Each book in the series has been a 5* rating for me and never disappointed and this book was no different !! Quinn is known as the playboy of the Scanguard clan, enjoying his days to full and living a life of indulgence especially when it comes to women. But nobody knows his secret heartbreak, two hundred years ago his heart was broken by the love of his life his human wife Rose and he has never been able to forget her and believing her to be dead has never gotten over her. Still very much alive and a vampire herself Rose now needs Quinn's help as an evil vampire is threatening Rose and her and Quinn's only living descendant. I loved Quinn's reaction to seeing Rose again, he was happy she was alive but hurt that she hadn't come to him nearly two hundred years ago and also hurt that she kept their child from him. Seeing Rose realize there are vampires that live a civilized life and there was a different way live was a great way of seeing both sides of the story. I really enjoyed the way the book went from present day to two hundred years ago, showing how Quinn and Rose met and fell in love and how they were both turned. The way Tina includes all the other characters and we get to see little snippets of our favorite characters while not loosing sight of who the main leads of the story are always amazes me! This book also introduced us to Oliver a little more with some important life changing events happening for him. New comer Cain was also involved more getting us ready for when he has his own book (fingers crossed) and we also get to know a little more of Thomas's history!! These books always have everything I enjoy in a book, first class characters, great plot, romance, action, steamy hot bedroom scenes and they are always complete page turners that I cannot put down. My only bad point..... having to wait for the next book !! :o)
I enjoyed Quinn’s undying Rose just as much as the other books in the Scanguards series. Tina Folsom never disappoints me with this series and these characters. Each character is so different and yet they have formed a close knit group that is so much like a family. I really liked that Quinn and Rose had a lot of history behind them and a grandson that Quinn discovers. I found myself turning the pages faster to find out Rose’s secret. Tina Folsom always does a great job building suspense—and of course she’s dropped a bit of unknown history in about Thomas and has left me salivating for his story even more than I was before. I am keeping my fingers crossed that Thomas and Eddie get their story next.
When I first started this series, I just didn’t think the books would get any better than the first, Samson’s Lovely Mortal. I mean, to mistake a frightened girl running for her life for a birthday surprise? Good God! Then I got to Gabriel’s Mate, and thought that would be my favorite book in the series until I got to book 5 – Zane’s Redemption. I couldn’t wait for the next installment, thinking no other book could top Zane’s story…I was very wrong!
Now we’re at installment 6, that’s right S-I-X! If you haven’t jumped on the Tina Folsom wagon yet…HUH-LOOOOO!! Wake up and taste the Scanguards!! Figuratively speaking of course .
Quinn’s Undying Rose had me from the very first paragraph, as she writes a letter to her 4th generation grandson! The intrigue, the suspension, the On-The-Edge-Of-Your-Seat, can’t wait to turn the next page anticipation! I literally messaged Tina during my reading of this book that she was KILLING ME! If I thought Zane’s past was something, Quinn’s was just as thrilling. Quinn goes to war back in the 1800′s, only to return to his love, his wife, who is supposed to love him through it all, only to be rejected. As the story unravels, you feel your heart literally ache for Quinn, and WOW! I am not going to lay the juicy details out here with spoilers, because I hate those myself, but I am going to tell you – GO READ THE BOOK, IT’S A MUST! Listen to me! I wouldn’t steer you wrong. This is a series that I actually bug Tina, when is the next one coming out? Go ahead, you can ask her, she will tell you, I do. This is the series that as soon as she sends out the news that it’s out, I run to Amazon and buy it. I wouldn’t care if it cost $100, I would own the next book to make my series collection complete! Don’t worry, they are nowhere near $100.
Yes, it’s rated erotica, but the way Tina tells a story…it’s just plain magic! She pulls you in, sends the emotions spinning, makes you want to stay, and keeps you yearning for more! I rate it with a heat of 5 flaming books, but it’s a good heat .
Thank you so much Tina for keeping me in constant anticipation! I LOVE this series! So, who’s next? Thomas, I think is dying to tell his story, but we shall see.
So now, what are you waiting for? GO! Buy the books and love them as much as I do. You won’t be sorry!
*Note* For the record, I started this series with Book #3 – Gabriel’s Mate as I participated in a book tour. Each book stands on its own.
Im sad, I have caught up on the scanguard vampire series :(. I have really enjoyed all of them they have great characters in that develop every book, and previous mc appear a lot in all the books. There is steamy love scenes too, you should check this series out.
Onto this book itself Quinns undying rose.
Rose is quinns wife, they married in the 1800's and the next day he went to war, only to return a vampire, so she rejected him as she was terrified of him, so how is she still alive?????????
Quinn is one of Scanguards class a bodyguards, his best friend is recently mated 'the hot damaged Zane', he resides in New York and is only in San fransisco temporarily. Quinn is smooth and known a womaniser, but his friends don't know that it's only to cover the grief of his long dead wife.
Blake is Quinns great great great great? Grandson....... His in danger, Rose needs Quinns help to protect there only living heir, how will Quinn react to find his long lost love alive still, and to find he has a descendant.... How can she tell him why she stayed away.....can they rekindle there love........
One thing they can count on is all of scanguards vampire and non vampire bodyguards help.
This book was great in par with Zanes Redemption, so much going on, I haven't even mention Oliver....... And not going to say anymore, We find out more about alot of sexy vamps in this book and all there mates are there with them for the ride.
Lots of love going on, from all the vamps, my fave was Samson and dellilah getting caught in the bathroom together - fabulous. The are steamy love scenes too.
Great story, love, lust, action, characther development and many twists and turns.
Quinn has been in love with his wife for 200 years although that he's though of her as dead so when she suddenly appears again in his life to ask help in guarding their descendant he can't help but feel betrayed by her. Rose has managed to avoid Quinn for 2 centuries but now she has to put her trust on him and hope that the man she loved so many years ago is still there.
My thought...
a) Through most of the book I thought Rose was a bitch.(So of course I loved her.) Strong, smart, independant, she managed to built a life forherself with no help from anyone. A little misguided in her beliefs but nobody's perfect.
b) I loved Quinn. The fact that he still loves Rose and isn't afraid to admit and forgive her gave him a lot of credit. (Tbh if I were in his shoes I would have killed her, especially since she hid his daughter from him.)
c) The story wasn't sth we haven't seen before but it was well written and the romance was more satisfying imo, probably because I attributed their love on their past, not the three days they spent together before they decided it was a forever.
d) Can't wait for Thomas' story! Yes I want to see Oliver's but I want Thomas more. And maybe Cain?
e)Alas...Another series for me to wait forever for the next book...
First of all, I couldn't finish it for months.. If the beginning was somewhat promising ( I love long-lost love stories), the rest of the book was incredibly boring and annoying.
I have no grudges against Quinn. He was somewhat flat, but generally, a nice fella. A bit too soft for a 200-year old vampire, but hey! not everybody can be perfect.
The heroine, aka Rose. I hated her guts. She was the most clueless, stupid, annoying and idiot heroine I've ever read about! I can't believe the level of her cluelessness! How did she manage to survive for 200 years, AND become a successful businesswoman (and her business is spread all over USA) - and not have a clue that vampires 1) can drink bottled blood, 2)can love, 3)don't necessarily feel the need to murder their mate, no matter the reason. But Rose just blinked her stupid eyes every time she learned these facts, annoying the hell out of me. Especially the love part..didn't you love your daughter, you stupid creature? And you're a vampire! Ugh... I honestly can't see her appeal - and why Quinn would still love her after hundreds of years..especially after learning the fact her idiocy cost him his child..
There were so many how-s, what-s and why-s about this story. Not a part of it felt believable to me.
I always forget how much i enjoy this series until i'm smack in the middle of one of the books! There's nothing crazily unique or complicated about these, they're just you're typical garden variety vampire pnr, chock full of good romance, good action/suspense...there are a few steamy sex scenes thrown into the mix along with a little bit of angst to give you that emotional connection to the couple and there's even a little bit of witty humorous banter to lighten things up at times. Just plain old entertaining!! I would not hesitate to recommend these to anyone looking for a fun and light paranormal romance series to sink their teeth into! ;)
very enjoyable, but wondering what will happen with Blake and Oliver in the future. I don't want them to fall into any cracks and disappear.. they are part of the family now, especially Oliver. I love this series, it just seems to get better with each book, I especially enjoy how the cast of characters grows with each book but the past cast member do not dominate the current story - they augment the tale. Great job Tina
This review is from: Quinn's Undying Rose (Scanguards Vampires #6) (Kindle Edition) I am sorry I tried to like Rose, but I found what she did to Quinn for 200 hundred years was unforgivable. Quinn and Rose were married in 1814 Regency England. Quinn goes off to fight in the war with Napoleon. Not knowing his one sexual time with his wife Rose left her pregnant. Quinn promises Rose he will return to her no matter what. Quinn finds himself mortally wounded on the battlefield and a vampire offers to turn him. When Quinn returns to Rose a Vampire she is scared of him and reject him she tells him to get away from her and throws him out. Rose is than attacked and becomes Vampire and refuses to tell Quinn that they have a baby daughter; that her parents made her give up to a family of farmers and that she has been turned a vampire herself. Instead of of Rose trying to find out the truth on her on or even begin brave enough to go to Quinn the man she is suppose to love, but no she believes a strange Vampire who shows up after she killed the Vampire who turned her. She goes and lives with him for years while he uses her. She leaves him and turns to stealing and prostitution to survive. One than Rose did that was good she helped other prostitute to survive on the streets from men who would abuse them. She had Vampire strength and speed, so she would fight off men that attacked other prostitutes. Over the years Rose opens up chains of Brothels and House of Prostitution all over the world.
However poor Quinn is left devastate and very hurt loving and missing Rose and in constant mourning. Rose has made him believe she is dead!!
Fast forward to the future Rose now needs Quinn's help to protect their 4th generation Grandson Blake from a Vampire she stole something valuable from his name is Keegan she has been this vamps lover for years. Quinn after a nano second excepts Rose back in his life and helps her protect Blake. Quinn is so in Lust with Rose he turns from an Alpha Vampire from other books to a wimpy puppy dog lusting after Rose in seconds. I lost all respect for Quinn. He takes all the blame for what happen on himself and it was Roses stupidity after she was turned that cause their 200 year separation. I wanted to scream to him and say this women has deceived you in the worst possible way she is a Slut and a Shank, she's been with tons of men in the past 200 hundred years!!! I wanted to scream at him WTF is wrong with you!!!
The story was good, I must admit, I just HATED Rose, If she hadn't had sex with so many men and maybe just protected the prostitutes and help them get decent homes this would have been a 5 star book for. I hated the way she though to. She kept say in the book she wasn't a virginal, shy Regency Debutante anymore!! How stupid to say that. What decent women would rather be a prostitute and madame then live the life of and young virginal debutante??? I didn't get it!!!
I am Not Highly Recommending this book, but I did enjoy re visiting the old characters and they did play major parts in the story. I loved baby Isabelle. This is why I gave it a 3 star review instead of 2. I really hope Cain's story is next. I will continue to read the series, but I won't pre order it. I will wait and read the reviews first.
This book was good, but not my favourite in the series at all.
We don't really know much about Quinn, other that the fact he is Zane's friend, but that's about it. I was honestly expecting Thomas's book next, so was a bit dissapointed when I saw that it would be Quinn. Anyway, I still enjoyed it. Qhuin was a great hero, I felt so sorry for him in the beginning. Two hundred years ago he went off to war to gain a good status in society, hoping that Rose's father would then let him marry her. Almost a year later, Quinn is dying on the battle field, when a vampire (Wallace) offers to turn him so he can go back to Rose. Quinn accepted the offer, only to be brutally rejected by Rose on his return. Not only that, Rose then went on to mislead Quinn into thinking she had died. So he has spent the last two centuries grieving over the devastating loss, never loving again. When he discovered that she was in fact alive and a vampire herself, Quinn is understandably furious, but more than that, he is completely heart broken. I wanted to cry for him, it was so sad. His love for her is still so raw and deep.
The relationship between him and Rose was wonderful, a really beautiful love story.
It was great to see a lot of the previous characters. I loved that Nina + Amuary, Samson + Deliliah ect, are still so damned happy.
I although I am desperate to read about Thomas and Eddie. I was really happy to learn that Oliver's book will be next. He and Quinn really made me laugh... '"The young!" Quinn rolled his eyes. "No appreciation for the art of seduction. It takes skill and cunning to coax a woman into your bed." "It takes money, good looks, and a big dick." Quinn could't help but chuckle. "Well that certainly helps. But then of course that leaves you short on two things. Cause the looks you've got." His young colleague snorted, showing his outrage. "You haven't seen my dick!" "Yeah and by the grace of God, I hope I never will." Quinn laughed, unable to contain himself.'
I also felt that the storyline wasn't as good as in previous books. But I still cannot wait to read the next in the series.
OMG I absolutely love this series all the story's and character's are fabulous lovable and great to read about. I loved this book Quinn and Rose's love has survived over 200 yrs even though Quinn thought she was dead, yet rose appears again needing the help and protection of Quinn and safeguard's for family Quinn never knew he had.
Fabulous story of love, passion, anger and heart break all colliding around enemies determined to cause harm, the other character's are all there to support them and is great to catch up with the old gang and new twist's and turn's keep's us on our toes and demanding the next book already!!!!!
well done tina I love this series and can't wait till the next one xxx
Um, WOW!! That was amazing, each book in the series just gets better!! I love all these charaters & I dont ever want to let them go, EVER!! Another exciting thrilling HOTT Scanguards adventure!! Cant wait for the next, Im praying for Thomas to get some. It was great to get into his history. And oh sweet Oliver *sigh* I'm looking foward to his story ;) loved it!!!
Love this series. Tina Folsom's Vampires are all very different, and the interaction between them is interesting and heartwarming. Don't get me wrong, their vampiric instincts rule them but they are multi dimensional characters who draw the reader into their story. You are emotionally vested in their saga.
Quinn is the subject of this book. He is a 200 year old vampire who has lived the playboy lifestyle for many years. He went off to war and returned a vampire. It is how he survived mortal war injuries - by being turned. His wife was repulsed his new form and left him. He has never stopped loving her and has not formed any substantial relationships with anyone else. He currently works for Scanguards and reports to Gabriel.
In the last book, Zane's book, he was out in San Fransisco and on his way to the airport to return home he and Oliver (Samson's personal assistant & human)have a terrible accident. Not one enough to kill a vampire but certainly one to kill a human. With only split seconds to make a decision, Quinn gives him his blood and turns him.
Quinn is detained in San Fransisco. He now has the responsibility of having sired a child and voes to be this fledgling's support and teacher. But there is a surprise in store for Quinn....a visitor Rose is a interesting character herself...living a very jaded life. Her story is revealed in the end, you understand better what her motives were and what really happened to her.
She needs his help to protect This is such an emotional read as you can imagine how one processes such information and deals with the loss of "what if."
But having said that, this is only half of what this novel deals with. The rest is the dealing with and staying one step ahead of the nemesis. There are so many curves, fighting, action and connections between characters that you did not know existed that it keeps you constantly switching direction. I kept saying to myself,"OMG."
I think the one thing I felt lacking was more of Quinn's outrage and anger. I think he dealt with everything alot better than I would have. And I did not feel the connection between Rose and Quinn shine as brightly as say, Zane and Portia. Outside that, I really enjoyed this book. It is not my favorite in the series but time well spent and a great read!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Quinn is still heartbroken over his bride of one day that rejected him 200years ago, to bury his pain he's developed his good-time playboy persona. Despite Rose's 200year old secret, current events now demand she go to Quinn for help to keep their last descendant safe. Can they really get over a 200year separation flawlessly?
Rose and Quinn's re-acquaintance was believable in terms of neither glossed over the reason for the 200year separation but as Rose's secret was teased out throughout the following chapters it became wearying. Her actions and reasons for resisting remained consistently believable. It's not always simple to make a believable tale about former lovers but Ms. Folsom definitely succeeded. Possibly because the focus wasn't just on our star couple. Many elements working together meshed well to make a strong story and keep the pages flying by including: a huge piece pushed the overall arc forward with a vengeance; help in the form of actual action pieces (as opposed to quick cameos) with the Scansguard family; a very worthy villain and pieces of Quinn & Rose's former lives.
Keegan, as the villain played well against this type of backdrop and was sinister enough to keep the drama and suspense high as well as being an excellent gateway for the action set pieces. Oliver remained a secondary character but had more to do this time out than chauffer characters and act as a blood bank. I liked the depth added to him. Kim and Wesley proved they weren't disposable characters by making a re-appearance - lending credence to the thought that they may become more important to future scenarios as well.
I'd hesitated to take this one off the pile - definitely not because I'd lost Scanguards fever but because it is a series I don't want to end for a while. With something new promised within a few months I could read this installment secure in the knowledge that it isn't the end of a great series.
As usual a great read from Tina Folsom. I love the Scanquards Vamps. This story wasn't quite as exciting/raunchy as I was hoping for i guess. Quinn and Rose have been apart for 200 years, and have continued to love each other over this time. Quinn always believed Rose to be dead, hence his previous womanizing ways (his theory, trying to forget his one true love) but Rose has always known where Quinn was, never really being far from him. This is why they both turn up in America, after having started their long journey of 200 years, in England. Rose has overseen her family during her life as a vampire, always making sure they were safe, when this task becomes too hard, she approaches Scanguards, knowing this will put her in touch with Quinn. Rose has a lot to learn about the joys of being a vampire, and Quinn will make the perfect teacher, Quinn has a lot to learn about Rose, and what she has become, and what she believes, and hides. Of course we get our must have HEA, but sadly I didnt find this story had the same intensity of the other books, which was sad, because even though Quinn got his much deserved (and long waited for) HEA there was feeling missing. One thing that I did notice was the obvious connection between Thomas and Eddie, when Eddie (accidentally?) shows what might be his true feelings for Thomas, during a fight, when Thomas is almost killed. Is this an opening for their book to be next? or is Tina Folsom just playing with our emotions, and building us up for the book we all anticipate.? All in all another great story in a great series..... when do we get the next installment? I am going to be reading this series back to back, more than once, as soon as I have all of them!
Quinn's Undying Rose is a must read for anyone who loves a complete and true love story. For those at believe loves conquers all loves transcends all. For those that don't believe you only need to read this book to become a believer.
200 years they have lived apart one believing the other is dead while the other too afraid and ashamed to come forward and trust in the love that is in their heart and the love that einstein between them. When forced to come together to protect something that is bigger than them more important than the fears and beliefs they have had for the past two hundred years . Will their love for each other transcend and conquer all?
Tina's sixth book in the Scanguard series is a must read! Even for those that have never picked up a book in the series it is still a must read! They only get better with each addition and since they are all fabulous reads that is not an easy feat but Tina makes it appear as though it is.
The book was gripping from the first page until the last. I found it virtually impossible to out down and now that I cave finished the book I find myself sorry that I will have to wait for the next one!
I highly recommend every book in the series they are all must reads for anyone whole loves true love stories, action scenes, hot sex scenes, vampires, suspense and thrill. Her books have it all it is the complete package everyone.
I had never given much thought to Quinn's story, initially, but it was definitely a story worth reading. Quinn and Rose were married, yet seperated for 200 years. The shock of Quinn being turned into a vampire was a bit much for Rose to handle. And after she found out, her life was changed for an eternity. She ended up keeping secrets to protect what was dear to her. The same things she wanted to protect is what brought them back together. What brings them back together causes them to face their past, their feelings, and their regrets. With the help of Quinn's new family, they face the danger while sorting out the truth. This is a difficult journey for both of them.
Since I love the Scanguards series, it was a given that I would read the book. But since Quinn didn't play much of a part in previous stories, he was a mystery. Tina brought out his mysterious past very well. She showed the inner battles and never let us forget that his outward appearance was not who he was deep down. I loved seeing his story unfold and the battle he faced between love and trust. And with Rose coming into the scene, we get to see how much Quinn hid about himself. He has to complete a mission while opening up Rose's eyes to the mysteries of being a vampire that she had never imagined possible. This was definitely a great addition to the collection.
The Scansguard Vampire series is one my favorites. The author is in the sixth book of the series and its still going strong. I loved the story between Rose and Quinn and thought it moved along with integrity. Loved the way the author took us back in time to their beginning which was sweet and tender. I actually rate this as 4.5 stars intead of five because of Quinn's relationship with Oliver. *Spoiler* He becomes Oliver's sire to save him from death, and repeatedly (three times) forgets about his need for blood and lack of control in curbing his lust for human blood. Kind of confused why this was written into the storyline if he wasn't going to take care of his progidy, but instead looks after a great (X 3) grandson who he never knew. Its seems all the other characters forgot about Oliver's needs as well. Otherwise, great read! Can't wait to read more about Thomas' story...with Eddie?
Tina Folsom you have once again shot to the top of my must read list because not only do you have the coolist story line but embrace diversity and I love it. You not only mentioned other races but you had an Asian character.... Thank You! For everyone who reads this I know the situation she was in etc. but at least her world wasn't sterile white with blond hair and blue eyes...
Quinn's story was fun and I really liked Rose, I can't wait to read what happens with Oliver and Thomas. It's the only problem with this story now I have to wait. :-(
The only down part of the story came from Thomas and I still don't really grasp his power and what happened with him.... The list is another mystery I hope you clear up because it came from somewhere....
Anyway thanks for making my holiday better with something fun to read.
Oh I loved this book. My favorite from all the Scanguards Vampires novels. Quinn's & Rose's book was perfect, so much love, it was very touching. Such a strong old love. Blake & Oliver --- INTERESTING, I say. And seeing some personal past of Thomas's made me so curious. He must be a powerful mind controller. I hope Thomas and Eddie will have a book and a happy, satisfying life *smiles* love those two, they makes the series very pleasant and curious.
And Tina, you really outdid yourself with this one. =)
