Arnie's day is not going according to plan. The welding equipment at work is not cooperating, and he's going to be late for the knitting class he teaches at the local GLBT Center. His day improves when his client turns out to be Crispin, a professor at a local college and one of his students. Crispin invites him for dinner after class and offers to show him his mittens, the first things he ever knit. Arnie's not sure if that's code for something more or not, but he's willing to take the chance and find out.
This story was originally written for KZ Snow's blog, but has been edited for distribution at the UK GLBTQ Fiction Meet in Brighton, UK.
I'm a single mom to a great adult daughter, and I have a full-time job as well. I started reading m/m romancein 2008, then went to reviewing and then writing.
Some dares and prompting of friends led me to the role of author and they've always been my biggest cheerleaders.
1.5 It was okay. The voice is decidedly female, what with all the cooing and shrieking etc. The development and pacing are poor and the characters are flat.
This is basically fluff, no plot at all. I was hoping for a bit more than fleeting references to their lives and the yarn craft that brings them together.
Cute and fun! Fortunately the feltching was only talked about and not done or overly described (almost didn't read the story 'cause of the preface referring to it)
