When good girls go bad, they go wolf.

A Cougar Falls story

Shapeshifter Monty GrayClaw has lived a wild life. A youth spent in Cougar Falls hadn't prepared him for the outside world, or for Hunters—humans who capture and slaughter Ac-taw. They nearly killed him before he escaped years of torture. Now living safely in Cougar Falls once more, he's trying to put the past behind him and look toward the future.

That future includes Sophie Tanner, a shy woman new to both her Ac-taw heritage and the town. Sophie is a sweet, lovely young wolf who calls to everything inside him. When an enemy from Monty’s past tracks him down, it will take the gentle woman with a will of iron to save the day. But when their shared history comes to haunt them both, can Monty save his mate, or will she leave him and Cougar Falls behind forever?
Product Warnings

You will be totally lost if you haven’t read the previous books.
We get Monty’s story finally, and those disgusting Hunters are hopefully dealt with for good.
I just didn’t believe the relationship side of this book.
Monty has trod carefully for TWO years with Sophie due to her being abused and apparently traumatised. Really nice and decent of him.
But Sophie decides she wants sex so goes on a date with Rafe.
Monty is waiting for her when she gets home and Sophie flips from scared virgin, to porn watching, dirty talking, sex fiend in about 10 minutes.
We get lots of happy domestic time with these two and then Monty goes off to hunt the Hunters and is recaptured.
Sophie takes off to save him and the truth comes out about her relationship with the Hunters.
A very short action packed showdown in the last few chapters wraps the major back story up.
Read years ago but reread this time through Kindle Unlimited.

Great story

Great story. Love damaged souls and watching them find the one who can heal them. Monty has had me waiting for his story from the first time I read about him. Sophie being the one who is his mate is such a weird coincidence. Both broken by the same person makes so much sense when it comes to their connection.

This is a well written book with great characters. This one has some twists to the story. It was a quick read for me but be careful or you will miss things. I liked the secondary characters they help make the story. I would encourage you if you like shifter stories to get this one it is worth your time.

I have read and enjoyed many books by Marie Harte, so this must just be a style take on the Paranormal/Shifter genre that just didn't work for me. I found the storyline limp (references to key events in characters' lives told to us in retrospect without the drama and tension needed to understand their present issues), the lead characters who are one dimensional and socially stunted (adults who can't get their act together and just communicate), slapstick dramedy which just seemed silly involving all the characters and relationships in previous books.

Sexy Wolf

If you're interested in paranormal stories you will want to read this book. It's a great story of how you find the right person and find a home and family. Don't worry there's a lot of hot scenes. The Author did a great job with her characters and the story plot. Looking forward to reading more from this Author.

Monty returned to Cougar Falls in Book 1. We finally find out why he's a little sad and scared and he gets a mate who has pain of her own. They pull each other through, making us smile and cry a little.

Great book

I so much enjoyed this book.
The plot is outstanding. The two main characters catches your attention right away.
Their are plots within plots.
You will not regret reading this book!!

Fate brings two tortured souls together

It really helps to have read some of the previous books, but Monty and Sophie getting together is still sexy and satisfying. When their pasts come back to haunt them they have to rely on their friends and each other to get to the HEA.

From what I read, the characters felt high schoolish. Too much in their heads. This wasn't for me.

My fave of the series so far. But I'm a little biased, if I was as Ac-taw, I would totally be a wolf too 🐺

This book I had so hard to get into. I am not sure why as I loved the first five books in the series. This one I just hated the two main characters. I felt like they were lacking a lot and were pretty flat characters. There was some character development which I like but I just could not get into this book. I gave it a chance because I loved the first five books.

This sixth novella in the Cougar Falls series again revolves around characters who have wafted in and out of the previous five stories. The characters who are always there as protagonists are The Hunters, humans who have as their life work the destruction of shifters of any kind. Now a lone wold, Monty GreyClaw who is a native of this hidden community is actively pursuing a lovely woman whose past has made her terribly shy and reticent in the company of single male wolves, but whose heart and body are attracted to the scarred and yet gentle wolf resident of a pride that is made up of cats, foxes, and bears. It is a story about the power of love to overcome so much that is hurtful and which can come out of the past to ruin the present. The time has come for Monty to face his own past, his fears of the danger and terror as well as his fear that he might lose his mate in the process. It brings lots of residents of Cougar Falls into the crisis--lots of these characters are in each of the previous five stories--and gives the reader a very good awareness of the entire community that has accepted wolves, cats, bears, and foxes. There are "purists" still in Cougar Falls, but they are gradually losing their power position. Now the alphas of all the shifter communities are working together to do away with the insidious and sick evil that would destroy them all. A really entertaining story for everyone who likes shifter paranormal romance. A truly fine story from a writer who knows how to put a story together and hold a reader's interest. A really terrific read!!

Right Wolf, Right Time felt a little forced, which was a major disappointment to me since I had been looking forward to reading Monty's story. I hate to say it but I think Monty's romance would've worked a lot better if it had stayed a secondary romance. Mostly, this was because there was very little conflict going on and that made things pretty boring to read.

All in all, I left the book feeling like Harte didn't really want to write this story and only wrote it because her fans kept requesting a book with Monty as the lead. Hopefully, the next addition to the series is better than this one.

Sophie Tanner is a beautiful wolf shifter who works at the local grocery store. She has little knowledge of her wolf since her family forced her to repress that part of her nature. She escaped from them and hopes never to see them again.

Monty GrayClaw is an Ac-taw wolf shifter who spent many years in captivity, forced to fight and kill those of his kind by a cruel and sadistic Hunter. He spends his time with the Pride rather than the Pack, and is in love with Sophie.

Monty has loved Sophie from afar for a long time. He knows she is his mate, but feels he is too damaged by his past to be worthy of her. All that changes when the pack Alpha takes an interest in the pretty wolf. He claims her, but his past and hers is about to come back to haunt them.

I really enjoyed the latest installment of the Cougar Falls series. I have read a few of the others and will be buying the ones I missed. The characters are wonderfully written. Both of them have damaged pasts, but the author does not harp on their angst, instead concentrates on their strengths. The plot is fast moving and full of exciting action and steamy love scenes. I definitely recommend this book and the entire series.

That was hot. Like... that horrible gif font with the animated flames? That hot.

I think if you've gotten to the point where you're reading the reviews, you've already read the blurb and have a general idea of what the book is about. So I'll just skip to the part you really care about: my personal opinions. Right?

Monty. One of the worst names ever. But aside from the name that makes me think of old men in Speedos, this was an awesomely sexy character. Marie Harte has a knack for writing dirty talk that sounds realistic and sexy. It felt very inappropriate to read this book at work, but whatever. I couldn't stop.

Sophie was a little meek in the beginning, but you could sense she didn't want to be, so you rooted for her. She got pretty hardcore at the climax and I was damn proud of her.

But back to Monty... no, just kidding. But not totally kidding, because when I try to think of what to put in the review, the only thing I'm remembering (even though I put the book down 10 minutes ago) is Monty's dirty talk.

I recommend this... for reasons.

I will confess, I have read the whole Cougar Falls series and THIS was the book I've been waiting for. From the beginning, I knew something horrible had happened to Monty and wanted to see when he got his happily ever after and hear his story. Once again, Marie Harte didn't let me down. I loved the tortured past of both Monty and Sophie and was completely surprised how entwined the two really were. Once I started reading this book, I couldn't put it down....really, I finished it in a couple hours. I loved the adventure of it, all the twists and turns and surprises along the way and of course, the wolf got the girl. Plus for added fun, I got to see the whole pride, Burke and Rachel and Grady & Dean up to no good once again....LOVED IT.

Not the best of this series 2.5 rounded up. To me the heroine had some inconsistencies. She went from unable to admit she was attracted or make the first move or openly/graphically talk about her feelings with her girl friends to admitting she was into porn, role play etc extremely quickly. Even though they danced around their attraction for two years I really needed to see more relationship building once it was initiated. I also think some of the aspects of the bad guy were glossed over or quickly resolved as well.

Overall I think this suffered from pacing and would have benefitted from a much longer word count to flesh out those areas.

The book, at first, relied on the reader having read the other books in the series for knowledge of characters and past story lines. I had not so found it not only confusing but draggy and confusing.

Once the story for these particular characters, Monty Grayclaw and Sophie Tanner, began to pull together the book became more interesting. That interest built as the story progressed. The ending chapters contained high angst and great sex. The Sophie at the end of the book was one hundred and eighty degrees different from the Sophie at the beginning of the book.. The change brought on by a good man or good wolf was believable.

I have loved monty since reading about him in the first cougar falls book,
He sounded like a wolf with a past.
Sophie was the little she-wolf he gas had his eye on for 2 years, making himself indispensable to her. He is a wolf on a mission.
Sophie also has a dark past. and a very naughty side to her.
The book was a mixture of humour, sadness and 2 naughty wolves.
A great addition to the cougar falls books.

I've read (and loved) the whole Cougar Falls series, so it's not a surprise that I loved this book too! From previous books, we know that something horrible happened to Monty in the past, but we really don't know much about Sophie. It's great to see them get their happily ever after, especially once you start reading and discover the surprises of Sophie's past. If you liked the first books of this series, you're sure to like this one too!

One of the best shapeshifter series around. Since meeting monty he's slowly become my favourite character. He's deep and soulful and a damage hero. What not to like. He and Sophie have been dancing around each other and their attraction for 2yrs. It's not until others try to get a look in does this push monty in right direction. Great story and the HEA for monty and Sophie. Joys story next I'm not a fan of the Miami cats but I'm hoping joy doesn't disappoint.
