I like the premise and this book gives just enough to make you curious. I wasn't expecting what I read from the title. The only draw backs are some of metaphors and a few grammatical errors. Other than that, I'm ready for part 2! I need more info about this sexy thug!
I’m gonna have to give this 3 stars. The title and the cover of the book is intriguing. It made me want to read it and see how a thug can really be invisible. It is a great storyline. However, it did have a few grammatical errors and it was way too short. I was not expecting for it to be a short story. Had the book had more details and such, more stars could have been given. Having said all of that, this will not stop me from reading more from J. L. Rose. I’d love to see what else they have up their sleeve.
It's not like the story is bad but it's not something I would read if it was a full novel...it's an erotica for sure but I just don't want to sit and read stuff like this...
You can take a thug out of his skin but you can't take the gangster out of the thug. This flash fiction is an awesome bite of humor, sexuality and thrills. I can't wait to read the next one.
That was a great 8 page book i done ever read. There was three errors i found but still good. Wanted to know how he came about on what actually happened on being an experiment
Charles Burgess’, Invisible Thug Lover, is the first flash fiction story I’ve ever read. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect aside from what was mentioned in the synopsis. When I started reading, all I could think was, “Meet the man of your dreams,”−literally. The main character, Hightower, is exactly what the title describes, an invisible thug lover. The CIA tried to tame him, but he escaped their system and now lurks the streets of Chicago, finding female victims who he can seduce and offer unimaginable pleasure. Hightower is the ultimate lover, one who takes his time to discover his victims’ fantasies and likes.
I will admit; I feel a little apprehensive about using the word victim. Hightower is not a rapist, but I viewed him as the man who comes to you in your dreams, the one who you believe is really there, fulfilling your wants and needs. Nevertheless, the real question is, does Hightower actually exist, or is he simply a figment of his victims’ imagination?
With flash fiction and short stories, I often read complaints from readers feeling as if they never get enough of the story. With this particular piece, I believe you get everything you need (including a little bit on Hightower’s background), but the mystery surrounding whether Hightower is real or not, will leave you wanting more. Therefore, I’ve already one-clicked my way to Part II. The only thing I really hoped for in this story was a description of Hightower’s looks. The lack thereof didn’t impact the overall story because I simply envisioned Morris Chestnut to fill the void (LOL).
For those of you who like quick, erotic, and descriptive stories, I highly recommend this work!
I am still not quite sure what I just read about but I think it was supposed to be some type of ghost/paranormal/sci-fi erotica? Or maybe it was all a dream? Then again, maybe it was about a criminal who breaks into women's houses and sexually assaults them, justifying it to himself? I have absolutely no idea! The fact that I cannot determine what I just read is not the problem, it is kind of intriguing. What I found to be problematic was that there seemed to be some sentences missing. In the story, apparently both parties reach a climax but we only know that because the end result is described. Also, the ending is completely incongruent with the rest of the story.
Invisible Thug Lover is a short, erotic, fantasy driven, delicious morsel that leaves you wanting more and delving into you own thoughts. This is my first read of flash fiction and the experience was good. Looking forward to part II.
Charles gave great background and Chicago ties in his book throughout. I loved how he led you into the scene. I just preferred he stayed there a little longer because I am greedy! No worries, I have part 2. Time to go back in and wait for my Invisible Thug to show up again!!
This quick read left me wanting yet another dose of this sexy dream lover. Quick and to the point, Mr Burgess has nailed another erotic flash fiction story that makes me want him to write a full story (hint hint). Way to go Mr Burgess. Mwah!!!
I enjoyed this little flash fiction piece. There were a few errors and things that could have been avoided if it was a little more time taken. Not bad for a quickie read. On to the next part.
Usually I don't care for books written in first person but I have to say, I really liked this one. The main character was well written. Overall the story was hot, so well thought out. I was pleasantly surprised to realize it was a short story that reads like a full length novel. This particular body of work is short sweet and to the point. and the editing was on point. A very nice read, A VERY HOT READ. I can not wait to read part 2
