Poor Mister Meddle is a very merry pixie always willing to help out and do good deeds, but he never quite gets it right. One day his meddling gets him into trouble with Aunt Jemima - he serves her up a treacle pudding covered in glue and gets chased home by a Biggle-Gobble.

Enid Mary Blyton (1897–1968) was an English author of children's books.
Born in South London, Blyton was the eldest of three children, and showed an early interest in music and reading. She was educated at St. Christopher's School, Beckenham, and - having decided not to pursue her music - at Ipswich High School, where she trained as a kindergarten teacher. She taught for five years before her 1924 marriage to editor Hugh Pollock, with whom she had two daughters. This marriage ended in divorce, and Blyton remarried in 1943, to surgeon Kenneth Fraser Darrell Waters. She died in 1968, one year after her second husband.
Blyton was a prolific author of children's books, who penned an estimated 800 books over about 40 years. Her stories were often either children's adventure and mystery stories, or fantasies involving magic. Notable series include: The Famous Five, The Secret Seven, The Five Find-Outers, Noddy, The Wishing Chair, Mallory Towers, and St. Clare's.
According to the Index Translationum, Blyton was the fifth most popular author in the world in 2007, coming after Lenin but ahead of Shakespeare.

My review, when I was ten years old (1997):
Would you like anyone meddling in your housework? No, of course not ! Nobody would ! And this book is all about such a boy ! For example, if you want to write the name of your house, and leave the paint out and go in, Mister Meddle will be there in less than an hour, and after you return it will be a big nice mess. So, don't you ever allow him to come near your house ! Enid Blyton, the most famous author for children's literature, writes very beautifully.

A very cute and funny book! It is perhaps a little bit excruciating though!

It was an 'ok' but. There were even funny moments. But if i have free times, i probably wouldn't read this book again. It was an 'ok' read for the first time, second time i'm not so sure. This is just my opinion. Who knows other readers find it different. Perhaps they like it, and worth killing time? 2 stars are for 'OK' not bad :)

My sister and I made mum read this every night for a long, long time. We loved the scrapes Mr Meddle was constantly getting into, I remember us both laughing, and begging mum to read it again!

probably my favorite book as a child. I re-read and re-read this hundreds of times till my copy got old and worn out.
