From Amazon: The ancient Epistle to the Hebrews contains a hitherto unnoticed enigma. It refers to a man without beginning or end – one who lives forever. So, who and where is he? The Jews knew him only as the Wanderer. T. S. Eliot called him the Witness. And the early Christians named him . . . Melchizedek. Federal Agent Roger Quarston can’t know that investigating some ancient, blood stained manuscripts will lead him to this same Melchizedek - whose revelation will threaten allegiances, challenge faiths, crack political foundations, enliven ancient dynasties, and open the promise of immortality and unimagined power.
An intelligent book, not for the person owning a closed mind. A fiction that holds within it many truths and has somehow discovered how to weave them together. This book is not perfect, it is slow and a bore at times but what I believe the author wanted us to focus on, he did. This novel is long, perhaps too long, I found many passages that could have been left out. The characters, there are many. I was and still am amazed at how the author didn't start one and then forget about it, but they all serve a purpose in some form or another. This is a very complex book and is not your average 'I figured it out by the second chapter' mystery, in fact it is more of an adventure based on mysterious that even after the book has been read are yet to be discovered. This book keeps you thinking and it is so terribly hard to find a book that allows you to think and almost never have I found a book that WANTS you to think. This book encourages your mind, allows it to expand and learn. Overall this book is full of ideas that I believe should be discovered and even though the writing is mediocre, give it a chance, I gave it 3 stars and I'm a hard to please customer.
I'm so happy I've discovered Jeffrey Tiel and Melchizedek! I thoroughly enjoyed the action, along with the history lesson (I don't know why people gripe about it), because that's what makes all archeological adventures so much fun!
some books are hard to get through and thsi book was one of those. Alot of in depth information on religion ...I learned some interesting things but it was very slow going .
