Ehhh...a very quick read and it was cool hearing Dan's journey of getting cast, but would have loved more details. It was what it was. I'm not looking to be cast at all, but there wasn't anything juicy here. Borrowed from a friend and it was fine, but not worth going out of your way to read (as in, no Big Brother game talk, which would have been awesome...)

If you are looking to gain an advantage for getting on Reality TV, this is a GREAT resource! It has insider tips and secrets of the casting process, along with first-hand experience! It’s also a very easy read and the things he tells you are extremely doable. This book got me fired up to start my journey of getting on Reality TV! I have also heard of people who have actually gotten on reality shows after reading/using this book! Pretty cool!

Some interesting insights into the casting process. I bought and read this more because I really love Dan rather than actually wanting to apply or get on the show. He is one entertaining guy

Could have done with more stuff about the show itself, how his experience went, insider info about the house, but I have a feeling that's a no-no. Probably in that contract you have to sign to get on it.

LILIANA DONT READ!!!! i loved this book so much! big brother is my favorite show and dan is my all time favorite player, so it was very interesting to see his process to get on the show. i hope to one day be on the show as well; therefore, the insight was nice to read and prepare. the only flaw was i wish it was longer. overall quick fun read!

Even though I am not interested in getting on reality TV, I am a BB fan and I found this book interesting, well written, and a nice diversion from other non-fiction out there. If you are thinking of trying out for reality TV it might help you, too.

Like any good Reality TV fan, my ultimate dream is to be on either Big Brother or Survivor. But I decided to read this because Dan is one of my all-time favorite BB players. It's not so much advice as it is his story of going through casting. He's super vague about the process, probably by necessity, but I still found it interesting!

This little book is very informative. I'm a die hard fan of Big Brother. I would give (almost) anything to be on the show and might actually apply, once I hit 21. It didn't tell me any groundbreaking information that absolutely shocked me (after following the show for so many years, I've learned the basic casting process). But, it was nice to read from the point of view of someone that has successfully gone through it (I love Dan, too). It was short and to the point. My main complaint is that the length IS really short. Sometimes Dan would briefly touch on a subject and I wished he would explain it more. It also stopped immediately after he got cast and I thought it would have been interesting to hear a little bit more about the experience of being on Big Brother.

All in all though, I would definitely recommend this. It's a little expensive for it's size, but it gave a good background/inside story, for anyone who is either interested in auditioning for Big Brother or is just a big fan of it. It's a nice look into Dan's life, too. However, this book is a bit more of a memoir than a how-to guide. It shows what Dan did to get in, but doesn't provide loads of specific tips for readers. So it definitely isn't the ONLY source you would want to use, if you really do plan on auditioning for BB. But, it was a quick, enjoyable read. I liked it a lot.

This was a short book (just over 100 pages) so it was a quick but good read. It's easily readable in an hour or two. Dan Gheesling is one of my favorite Big Brother players of all time. He won one season and came in second in another. This book tells nothing about his seasons on Big Brother, just how he got interested and how he spent years and several auditions before he finally got cast. If you're a Big Brother fan and especially if you're interested in auditioning for the show, this is a good read.

Don't worry...I have absolutely no plans of trying to get onto reality tv. I only read this book in an continued attempt to read my friends' favorite books. Despite my disinterest in the overall topic though, it was an unique story and intriguing read, even if it was painfully obvious that the author is a novice.
