This story has the type of slow-burn developing relationship for Severus and Hermione that would be realistic. It emphasizes their appreciation of each other as people but with hints of physical attraction as they learn more about each other. Hermione's inclusion is the upcoming plans surrounding the final battle make far more sense than her being left completely in the dark as cannon suggested.
I love how I could read the cannon books alongside this series and believe that this fanfiction could actually happen! I am amazed at grangerous' knowledge of the books and dedication to maintaining the atmosphere and characters (if not always their cannon pairings lol). She introduces enough of her own plot points to keep the story fresh and I found myself unable to put this down, the events of J.K. Rowling's world made fresh by her talent. Also, it has an Arithmancy subplot which I have a special affection for thanks to Caeria's Pet Project fanfiction.
This fanfiction perfectly captures what I want in a HGSS fancition: slow building-up with teasing snippets among the plot, artful mixing of thoughts and concepts, and capturing of the world's tone but not at the expense of believably in the author's own version. I am so psyched to see how it will turn out!

TW: grooming
Let me preface this by saying that teacher-student relationships are GROSS and should not happen, not even in fiction. And passive Hermione is irritating. However, the adherence to canon is compelling and interesting, and I loved Snape's friendships with the other staff. I will read the sequel, only because Snape is an engaging character. I don't really care for this version of Hermione.

Fade par rapport à camérado. C'est cringe as fuck ! La tension entre Rogue et Hermione est mal amenée, plein de passages what the fuck. J'ai lu le premier, commencer le deuxième et dnf parce que j'en pouvais plus ! Dommage il y avait du potentiel. La dernière scène était quand même ouf (Félix) mais c'est tout.

I loved how was Hermione written - she was so in character, wonderful. But I couldn't stand the way all Snape's faults were apologised the whole time. While I do not believe him to be fully evil, he definitely isn't good person either. Yes, after Voldemort's return he had to play the part of Death Eater, but his bullying of Harry and Neville from their first year was of his own choosing.

Wonderful story! Very sweet and innocent. Goes great with the original Harry Potter story.
