Ink and Kink #4

Cuff Master

Rate this book

Detective Ethan Maddox and psychic Morgan Everhart are on the cusp of a relationship, if she can forgive him for doubting her abilities when they first met. A Master with a fetish for handcuffs, he recognizes Morgan is a submissive who needs a patient man to guide her safely into the D/s lifestyle. He is determined to claim her.

Inviting her for a moonlit walk, Ethan kisses Morgan and her seduction begins, until a teenaged ghost interrupts. Ethan is skeptical of the supernatural, but if he doesn’t open his mind he may never collar the woman he loves.

As they work together to solve a cold case, Ethan introduces Morgan to the very dark, seductive world of sex, submission, bondage and dungeons. All the while, danger is growing. If Ethan doesn’t find a young girl’s killer soon, all could be lost.

Reader Morgan’s sexual awakening includes watching a scorching-hot brief scene of male/male lust, with Ethan by her side.

My love for storytelling began when I created my first fictional characters in kindergarten, convincing my family and friends that Red Henry and Green Henry were identical twin brothers in my school. They were mischievous, rarely did their homework, and even had girlfriends! Years later, I started to write, completing my first manuscript in middle school. I confess the heroine was a cross between a contemporary Laura Ingalls Wilder and Nancy Drew, who’d been dating one of the Hardy Boys, but when I wrote “the end” I’d known I had more stories to tell. Of course, life intervened, but whether I was in high school, working as a Veterinary Technician, earning a degree in history and secondary education, or teaching, I was always writing and reading romances.

Finally, I met and married my hero and moved to New England. Shortly after, I joined RWA and the New England Chapter and have been writing faithfully ever since. Now I am proud to be an author with Ellora’s Cave Publishing. I invite you to come and meet the Panthera, explore my website, read the reviews, excerpts and more at www.francesstockton.com. Morgan has psychic abilities but her true gift is psychometry, she gets feelings and images from old things or better described she gets information from touching things that others have owned and can tell a lot about the owner just from that touch.

Ethan is a detective among other things but always a Dom. Ethan has a soft spot for Morgan ever since he met her and will do anything to protect her. True he does not understand her or her gifts but that does not deter him.

When a ghost of a girl recently killed appears to Morgan she knows she has to help to find peace for this girl. As things become clearer as to what happened Morgan's life is in danger and Ethan takes over keeping her safe and helps her solve the unknown reason why the girl cannot find peace.

Morgan and Ethan are perfect for each other because Ethan grounds her and the impact from things she touches do not hit her so hard when he is also touching her and by the same token Ethan has never been with a woman that touches his dominate side and his compassionate side. They are truly made for each other.

While the sexual side of their relationship grows by leaps and bounds they are trying to figure out who killed the girl and has attacked Morgan.

Morgan learns more about her desire to be Ethan's sub and is finding new limits all the time. Morgan feels alive and in love and is questing for more and Ethan is more than willing to cautiously open doors for her.

Loved the fantastically descriptive take on things that were around be it a building, a room, a person or a toy being used. Leroy's not forget the 9 1/2 inch long, wrist thick tool!

Action taken to the max, adventure ever present! Suspense is high gear and mystery abounds. Every token touch into sexuality was explosive, cringe worthy at points, pant worthy at others but as Morgan expressed -what is next!

Beautiful to have such a grounding, loving couple explore and explode to the heights of such magnitude.

To say I "read" this book is a bit misleading. I've gotten about halfway through this unnecessarily long book. (I'm at 399 of 733 on my Nook.) At first blush, this seemed like my kind of book - a Detective, tattoos, some paranormal, and some D/s - but it SO does not live up to any of my expectations. First, the characters are totally unbelievable, there has been no character development, so I really don't care about them, and they've got no chemistry (possibly as a result of the former two problems). I'm sorry: Ethan is a Detective, a tattoo artist with a shop, in a band, and makes sex toys that he and his brothers sell online. Seriously?? Although at this point in the book, he hasn't actually DONE any of those things. He's supposed to be this overly protective detective but other than getting a phone call or two (which are mentioned in little to no detail), he hasn't done any detecting. Rather, he's taken two weeks off to take care of Morgan. Give me a detective who actually goes out and does something about finding his woman's attacker instead of sitting back and letting someone else do it for him. Similarly, Morgan isn't using her paranormal skills to try to find out anything either. The only time she used them on purpose was to introduce Ethan to Grandma, after which Ethan was a total believer. (Insert eye roll.) He's supposed to be a tattoo artist but he's got very little ink, the ink he has is cliche and uninspired, and he hasn't actually gone to his tattoo shop or done anything tattoo related yet. And he's in a band and he's got an on-line business. I'm sorry - who has time for all of that?? It is like the author couldn't decide on a "sexy" career so she gave him all of them. All of this MIGHT be forgivable enough for me to at least finish the book if the sex was hot - but its totally not.

Cuff Master by Frances Stockton is not part of a series but characters from some of Frances Stockton’s other books like Playing Doctor, Ink Master, Field of Play, and Quarterback Blitz. I chose this book because I have always enjoyed Frances Stockton’s books.

Morgan is a psychic she picks up feelings and images from the things that she touches around her. She is very honest with her abilities and to the people around her. I loved that she never exploited abilities.

Ethan is a detective as well as a Dom. He has soft spot for Moran and while he does not understand her gifts, he will protect her. He is willing to learn about her gifts and help her as best he can.

The chemistry between Ethan and Morgan is off the charts. They are a great match. I love that Morgan cannot pick up anything from Ethan. He ends up being the soft place that she can fall. The sex scenes are hot and spicy. I enjoyed how BDSM elements were combined in the story and in the bedroom.

I enjoyed how the mystery that surrounded the death of a little girl that came to Morgan for help did not overshadow the budding relationship between Moran and Ethan in the book. The author had a wonderful balance between the two.

The only thing that could have made this story better is if the ending was flushed out more. It seemed a bit rushed. Overall, this was a wonderful story. It makes you want to read the other stories in the group and more from Frances Stockton. I cannot wait for Taran’s story!

I saw the blurb for Cuff Master and thought cool a cop, a psychic, and a little kink great I get that. I started reading and was so lost by characters and events from previous books that I put it down and went to the authors website to see if it was part of a series. Not much help there. I returned to the online bookstore and it isn’t listed as part of a series there either. I took a chance and purchased Ink Master and Playing Doctor and started over. After reading them I went back to Cuff Master.
Detective Ethan Maddox and psychic Morgan Everhart are on the cusp of a relationship, if she can forgive him for doubting her abilities when they first met. At Phalen and Cassies wedding Morgan gets visited by the ghost of a victim from one of Ethan’s cold cases. If Ethan doesn’t take Morgan serious after she told him where to find Cassie when she was kidnapped in Ink Master then he doesn’t stand a chance with the woman he is convinced is “the one” for him.

I enjoyed the story. The mystery was great and the characters were engaging. The sex was inventive and over-all a pretty good read.

I can’t wait to see Taran Maddox take on Ethan’s partner Sam. I’d love to see Avery Grants story too.

Ethan is a detective with a thing for handcuffs. Morgan in a psychic who never considered herself to be submissive. That is until she met and fell for the Dominant detective.

Morgan and Ethan have been circling each other for a long time and Ethan has finally decided that he’s going to take claim to what is his. When he finally makes his intentions clear to Morgan his effort to get close is thwarted when the ghost of a girl appears to Morgan. But this isn’t just any ghost. This is the victim of one of Ethan’s closed cases and it would appear that he got it wrong when it came to who killed her.

Getting Morgan to trust his love proved to be difficult in the beginning. She as so used to people doubting her ability or making fun of her that she couldn’t really believe that Ethan truely loved her. It was enjoyable to read how Ethan pushed through her defenses and gained her trust.

These two characters showed their faith in each other time and again in this book. No matter the obsticle put in place their trust in each other helped them get passed it. Throw in a little dungeon action and you have a go to read with Cuff Master.

Morgan is a woman with special abilities who needs a special man to believe in her. Unfortunately, the one man she wants is a cop who only sees black and white while Morgan exists in the shades of grey.

Ethan wants Morgan from the moment he meets her. His initial reaction to her abilities is misunderstood and she runs.

Morgan sees ghosts and the most recent is the victim of Ethan’s recent closed case. The ghost is saying her real killer is going unpunished and he is closer than they think. Will Ethan believe in Morgan and work together to prove the killer’s guilt before the killer decides Morgan has to die before she says too much?

The relationship between Morgan and Ethan is a thing of beauty once it is allowed to flourish. The dominant/submissive relationship enhances the love and enriches it. If you have never ventured into what was once considered the forbidden, I challenge you to read Cuff Master and see who is truly in control. I love all the characters and will seek out other books by Frances Stockton.

DNF....I struggled for several days to get into this book and that is not normal for me. I can normally read a book in a few hours if I connect with characters and the storyline. I struggled with both in this story. I'm gonna shelf this and come back to it at another time...maybe it'll be better the second time around.
