This is a psychological thriller of course but has horror elements in it.
And the book starts with the scene of a haunted house "Villa 666/13B". Then we meet two of our protagonists Ratan and Ravi who are struggling to afloat their drowning business. At this moment they meet Aditi, who's ready to pay their enough but want them to do shooting at that hunted house. There's another person we meet Ajay. And as the story progresses we see how all their story intertwine together.
The book is very short only 187 pages and a totally captivating story. The book has perfect amount of creepy, horror feelings to thrilling aspects. I like how the author builds up all the suspense with twists and turns in just this short story.
Also the author beautifully introduces all the characters, their emotions are also well portrayed.
So definitely a good short supernatural psychological thrilling read that I would love to recommend everyone. Also would be perfect read if you are in reading slump.

This was a fun and quick read! The book involved topics related to dark magic, friendship, love, betrayal, and horror. Harshvardhan has used simple language to keep me hooked throughout the book. 4/5! ⭐

What truly caught me off guard was how multi-layered each character is especially Aditi. She's not just a victim or heroine; she’s a mystery of her own. Okay, so The Girl in the House had me HOOKED from the start!!! The writing is smooth, the eerie atmosphere is set up beautifully, and the way the tension builds up??? Absolutely PERFECT!!! It’s one of those books that keeps you turning pages effortlessly!!! The setting—the house, the silences, the weight of the past—was done SO well!!! You feel the unease creeping in with every chapter, and I loved how the story slowly unraveled!!! But then… the ending?? It felt SO rushed!!! After all that slow, intense buildup, I expected a more fleshed-out conclusion!!! It wasn’t bad, but everything just wrapped up way too quickly!!! I wanted more time to process the twists, more time for things to sink in!!!
Now, let’s talk about Aditi, Ratan, and Ravi—easily the best part of the book!!! Aditi was such an intriguing protagonist—flawed, complex, and carrying so much emotional baggage!!! Her trauma, her memories, the way she navigated the house and her past??? So well done!!! Ratan was probably my favorite—he had this quiet intensity, always feeling like he knew more than he was letting on!!! Protective yet distant, kind yet unsettling—his presence added SO much intrigue!!! And Ravi??? Ugh, he was that one character who kept me guessing!!! Would I recommend it?? YES!!! It’s a solid, engaging read with great atmosphere and intriguing characters!!! But be prepared for a conclusion that feels a little too fast for the slow, well-built tension in the first half!!! Definitely worth a read, but I just wish the ending had the same depth as the beginning!!!

Firstly, huge respect and great appreciation to the author Harshvardhan Rao making such a series of masterpieces. Though the discussion of the story line in such a book where many surprises are waiting after turning the pages , I personally don't like. As it destroys the author's effort and spoiler is never a great experience for me. However the story follows Aditi, a young and charismatic girl who, as an upcoming journalist, decides to investigate a haunted house for a story. As she delves deeper into the secrets of the house, her behavior begins to change inexplicably, leaving her photographer teammates, Ratan and Ravi, puzzled and concerned. They start to investigate it. Meanwhile, Aditi is also behaving very strangely sometimes. They get to know the story behind the house which is very shocking and haunting in itself. What is the story? How is it connected to Aditi? Is there actually a ghost in the house? Are they all in danger?
It is a supernatural story with sprinkles of psychological and occult practices. I like the horror part very much. Some parts were legit scary. All characters are nicely written. Author has done a great job in keeping the suspense, horror and the creepy feeling throughout the book.
You know it will be a great horror read when the start of the book tells you the address of the haunted house – 666/13B. Seriously…. 666 and also 13?? I was immediately drawn into it.
Story is written nicely although middle part was little confusing but at the end all was clear. Aditi’s back story was not explored which I was eager to read. Ravi and Ratan’s friendship is amazing and I would like to see more of their adventures in next part. Yes, there was a hint of a sequel.

A girl in the house is a phychological thriller which revolves around the life of people's of two different backgrounds. In one hand it narrates the story of Ratan, Ravi and On the other hand, it talks about Manju, Ajay and Hema.
Ratan and Ravi the photographer due, where neither good in photography nor in business. When they had renovated their shop, they ran short of money. One day a girl named Aditi comes to their shop and gave them a contract for a photo suit of a house which people say, is haunted. As they were in need of money the agreed on that. Little did they know that their life was about to change 360°.
Manju and Ajay were great Surgeons at Gangaram hospital. They were in love and wanted to get married. Due to some unavoidable circumstances manju decided to marry the chairperson of hospital, Mr Ramchandani. They named their daughter Hema.
It was interesting to read how Aditi linked these two stories together. There are many scenes in the book that will make you recall scenes from Conjuring movie and will give you goosebumps.
Very beautifully the author has depicted the bromance of Ratan and Ravi, tragic past of Aditya, struggle of Manju and crazyness of Ajay. Once you start reading this book, it will make you curious about what will happen next in the story?
Overall, the author's attempt to keep the readers' interest with the atmosphere of horror was successful, with his amazing story telling talent. I enjoyed reading this book.

✓A good psychological thriller is something that I'm always up for. They help me come out of a reading slump. When I came across this book, I went through the blurb and I was intrigued by it. Thus, I decided to pick this up.
✓From a haunted house to parapsychology, this story has a lot to offer to its readers. The story revolves around two friends amx business partners, Ratan and Ravi. They meet a girl, Aditi who offers them to click pictures of a haunted house which she was writing a story about. Denying the existence of spirits, they accept the offer but end up getting stuck between a dark story about a doctor's past and Aditi's life.
✓The plot is super interesting. It was very difficult for me to keep this book down at times. The storyline kept me hooked till the very last page. I am very satisfied with the ending. The narration is simple and fast paced.

For instance, the author talks about Aditi and Ravi and in the very next paragraph the scene shifts to Ratan and Ragini suddenly. This wont be a problem for most readers though. Ratan and Ravi run a photography studio called G.B. studio in a small town where they are not doing very well and this time had to assort to taking money from loan sharks to keep their studio running but to no success. Ratan and Ravi often get into arguments in selling the business and start a grocery store instead.
