Can you really trust the Bible? And if so, and you really understand it? The answer to both questions is yes —as this book makes plain. Here, under one cover, are two powerful titles that make God’s Word accessible to any Answers to Your Bible Questions, providing clear, concise, encouraging responses to 75 questions skeptics raise about scripture; and Understand Your Bible, which explains just how to read God’s Word—from the perspective of its historic, geographic, literary, and other contexts. This powerful book will start you on a journey of understanding that can truly change your life!
Why Should I Believe the Bible? Is a combination of 2 books. The first half, Answers to Your Bible Questions, consisted of 75 tough questions asked by Christians and skeptics alike and was satisfactory intellectually and spiritually. To see these tough questions answered with clear and concise evidence has helped my faith in understanding the divine and human authorship of the bible. To using archeological, cultural and historical evidence to answer these questions it has given me a deeper appreciation for doing the going the extra mile to understand scripture. The latter half of the book was all about being able to understand your bible more by understanding the main ideas throughout scripture, the genres of writing such as poetry and historical narrative, and utilizing the historical, cultural and geographical context to get a fuller picture of what is going on. This book will be an asset for reminding myself to explore the Word of God more deeply and to clear up confusion and frustration regarding what I am reading.
