"From volcanic burps to colonic bacteria, this comic-book ride through the human digestive system is a delirious joy." —Nature

Survive! Inside the Human Body, Volume 1 begins an epic journey through the human body with a look at the digestive system. This lively, full-color science comic explores Phoebe's insides after she accidentally swallows a microscopic ship. The only problem? Dr. Brain (the ship's eccentric inventor) and Phoebe's friend Geo are on board!

Geo and Dr. Brain must avoid danger at every turn—like hazardous stomach acid and feeding parasites. (Ew!) Will they escape? You've got a front-row seat as they travel through Phoebe's esophagus, stomach, and intestines.

Oh my word, this is perfect for younger kids. An adult should read with them, to make sure they’re not just looking at the pictures/skimming, and to help them get through the bigger pure-informational pages.

This is information-packed, over-dramatic manga. I loved it. My sister (age 13)...loved it a little less because she dislikes reading, but despite that she learned a few things (and said she prefers the comic to any of the textbooks she’s tried using).

A great brush-up for adults, as well as being a wonderful intro to the digestive system for kids.

My friend gave a copy of this book to my kids (and I was too curious to pass). My 1st and 4th graders (who’d never read any manhwa before) initially found the illustration style “weird,” but within the last 2 months, they’ve read the book twice. I will buy the other 2 volumes and hope that the entire “Survive!” Series will be translated from Korean to English in the near future.

Great introduction to how the human body functions for kids (who are close to middle school).

The 3-book set is a comical exposition about digestive, circulatory, and nervous systems in the human body. The comic is interspersed with bite-size information about specific organs. Kids interested in learning about how a human body functions would really like this. It would also serve as a great read-together book for parents and kids.

For 2. A graphic novel. I should have picked something different. They didn't succeed in making the educational aspect fun.

I think this has great potential in engaging reluctant learners.

A fun, educational look at the digestive system! The drawings were a little too exaggerated for my taste but we're very descriptive and colorful. Info pages at the end of each chapter which explained the different parts of the system were well done.

I won this as a giveaway and was delighted that the author included all three volumes!! I read them with my seven year old son right away and he loved everything about them. The colors are great and the information was at the perfect level for my smart little man. Thank you!

Learned a lot about the digestive system with this book. Great information. My only negative were the angry illustrations. Everyone is angry...that got old.

I recommend this book because it informs you a lot about your body specifically about your digestive system.
