Just finished reading Sereniti by this new author. I started reading this book as part of an upcoming book discussion and I wanted to make sure I finished it in time. While the book was a long in some areas it was very fast paced while in others I had to keep putting my Nook down to push myself through.

Sereniti is a woman who is in love. She is so in love that she allows Nice to basically walk over her. Though he admits to loving her I dont think there love is shared the same way. Sereniti is that ride or die do anything for her man no questions asked kind of girl. She wants whats best for him and will do anything to show her love. But when her man isnt showing her the same kind of love in return what will happen when Sereniti is left alone with only her thoughts and the attraction of another man? Will Sereniti's life be turned upside down because of the lies people are holding from her?

Dwayne aka Nice is the King of his City and will do anything to stop anyone who gets in his way of making his money, and is also the love of Sereniti's life. If that means he has kill or be killed, then his answer is always the same. Dwayne is a true ladies man, the ladies see him and automatically want a piece of him, and he often uses them to get what he wants.

Messing with Nice, Sereniti has to put on her big girl panties and often has to step up to the plate when necessary, or when her man sees fit.

I feel that the story its self was a good one, BUT im sure the story would have been better if all the details in some areas, such as the club scene with Nice and his boys and all the boys were described since we only really dealt with one of his friends throughout the book and another two towards the end i felt that that information was not needed. I also got a drug history lession which i thought was way too much also. Sometimes details in certain places are good but too many details makes readers fast forward that part because honestly we just want to know whats going on in the story and all the fluff is in the way. Lets see I think this author did too much label dropping I sure hope shes getting paid for all those free promotion shes giving these people, but everything had a label from panties to candles. I guess sometimes its ok to know what they are wearing but every outfit with a name is like ok ... but I think we all knew Sereniti was fly. There were a few errors in the book and also towards the end the paragraph was repated twice.

The ending of the book confused me it could be because im still trying to figure out who Reina is because who i thought she was im not sure, and just the ending and what happened, and who was involved left me a bit confused, so im not sure but I guess the next part will clear all things up.

Overall it was an ok average read. Sereniti definitly makes an interesting character. I may read the next installment to see what will happen next.

I was really excited to read Sereniti and after reading it I think the author did a good job for her first book. The story captured my attention in the beginning but unfortunately I got lost somewhere between the introduction of new characters and all of the detailed information. There were some parts where I felt as if the author went into more descriptions than were needed and they didn't contribute to the story in any way. It also seemed to be a ton of label dropping which got a tad bit overwhelming. I did enjoy the suspense at times, especially towards the ending of the book. Even though the twist was predictable and something that I have read way too many times in urban lit, it did provide an interesting element to the story line. I'm eager to find out more about the identity of certain characters. I'm also eager to find out what really happened at the end. I will continue to support this author.

Nice and Sereniti are a couple who are experiencing many ups and downs within their relationship. For this to be the authors first full length novel i was impressed by her work. While this was a pretty good book I did see a few areas that could be improved on. There were a few editing issues: however, they didn't take away from the story. The excessive label dropping became a problem to me after a while as well. I did appreciate the how she focused on details, at the same time I felt that she often gave too much focus on areas that did not add to the story. I will be reading more from this author.

Even with all the bull I liked Nice and Sereniti was no joke with her drama. I couldn't believe what happened with Coco but the chaos behind it was great. With the way Brooke was acting I knew something deeper was going on. I couldn't put what was going on with Yong but I knew he was going to be involved some kind of way. It was way too much going on though. Hard to follow along with so many people going by different names. Then the whole father thing was confusing as ever. It takes a couple times to read over what was happening with that and it was to the point you didn't really care what was happening. The story could've been clearer the story could've been way better had it not been so much at the same time.

After reading this author's short story in When It Rains, It Pours, I could not wait to read her full length novel. This is the story of Sereniti and Nice, how all the money in the world cannot compensate for love. It also touches on betrayal, and keep your enemies close, and your friends even closer definitely applies. This was a good story, but for me was a little confusing at certain parts in the middle. Despite that fact, I did enjoy the story and will definitely be reading more from this author in the future.

Sereniti: The Takeover (THE SERENITI SERIES) by Dama Cargle, focuses on main character Sereniti and her drama. The story is undeveloped, unoriginal, drags, confusing and uneven. It gave me a headache. There are grammar errors. I have read similar storylines in the past. This book is recommended only if a free purchase.

I liked it

it was slow at times and it felt as if some parts were just fillers, but the overall story line was good. I read this in two days because I had to come to a stopping point because there was just an overwhelming amount of fluff but after that I really got into the story and began to like it. the ending was amazing. looking forward to finding out what happened

Ooooh this was a good one! Where is part 2?! I loved the way it ended, because it leaves my mind to keep wondering on what will happen next. The author had me guessing right up to the end and even when I thought I put two and two together, I still wasn't sure unless it was confirmed. Great job!
