Sara Fawkes has always loved spinning tales, but her romantic roots come from sneaking her mother's old Johanna Lindsay books from the dresser drawer. She's been writing stories since she was a little girl (and has the home made books from preschool to prove it), and loves creating stories and characters and interesting messes for them to get into. An avid traveler and adventure motorcyclist, her dream job includes selling everything off and leaving civilization to see the world on two wheels, writing in cafes in each country she visits, and living off her writing. In the meantime however, she lives in California with her menagerie of pets and, when not writing, loves to rebuild old motorcycles/cars with her Dude and plays with the characters in her head. Despite quite an outrageous synopsis for the series I was very pleasantly surprised by this collection and I enjoyed it very much. From small acorns do giant oak trees grow and that is so true of this story which starts off fairly innocuously with Lucy working a dead end job with a bit of a crush on the guy she rides the elevator with every day and ends up with an explosive, high action suspense plot.

I think we've all been where Lucy is at the beginning at the novel at some time in our lives - harbouring a major league, pantie-wetting crush on a hot guy who hardly seems to notice our existence. Lucy is down on her luck, working well below her paygrade and every morning she makes sure rides the elevator with the gorgeous man in the designer suits who always seems to have an entourage and never once acknowledges her presence.

Then, one day, they find themselves alone in the elevator and he reaches across and presses the emergency stop button and demands to know who she is. She's been driving him mad with desire, he swears he can smell her arousal and they share an intensely hot scene. Phew!! Lucy's about to lose her job in the latest redundancy cuts and the gorgeous man in the elevator turns out to be non other than the billionaire CEO of the company she works for. He can resist her charms no longer and coerces her into signing an extremely lucrative contract as his personal assistant to provide 'Anything he wants'.

Jeremiah is our very demanding CEO and, even though he has a cold, stoic manner, you begin to sense the vulnerability underneath his resolute exterior, feel his all-consuming desire for Lucy and little snippets into his past begin to give us an understanding of how he came to be the man he is today. He has a voracious sexual appetite and is very much the dominant as they share some intense, extremely hot BDSM scenes together.

Lucy - I did worry during the first 2 novellas that she was a bit of a doormat. Yes. she's had some hard knocks but I did question her decision to agree to whatever her new boss demanded of her without giving it a huge amount of thought but the doormat was completely gone by part 3 and her feisty and loyal personality started to shine through and she becomes a much more likeable heroine. She's almost powerless to resist the dominant power of her boss and thrives on her own submission.

It's obvious to see the feelings growing between these two although Jeremiah is a closed book emotionally but his eyes give him away telling Lucy what he just can't put into words. Lucy is slowly falling for her boss but never really knows where she stands with him - is she employee, lover, responsibility, liability?

By part 3 we also get a whole host of secondary characters including Jeremiah's machiavellian enigmatic brother Lucas. I confess I developed a bit of a crush on Lucas as he exuded a devilish charm which I could scarce resist. We also get to meet the Arch-Bitch that is their mother - Cruella De Ville is alive and kicking it would appear. I HATED her!

The story moves on from a straight billionaire buys submissive style plot as conspiracy theories abound and we have assassination attempts and multiple kidnappings. There's a WICKED cliffhanger at the end and I've managed to find out that Sara Fawkes intends to continue the story thankfully as there's just no way we could leave it there.

Highly recommended

Initial reaction: Here's a thought I'll leave you with in the time I mull over how I'm going to write my full review on "Anything He Wants", I get there are a lot of erotic novels that are penned for the sake of engaging the sensual variety. But ladies, gents, those who peruse the erotic genre - if you're going to have your two characters engage in sexy times in your novel, that's no reason to totally skimp on character development and interaction, and completely indulge in Mary Sueish fantasies that have no direction or no sense to them. This novel did not know what it wanted to become, and pretty much threw whatever it could at the wall to see what stuck. Only nothing did.

This book was just completely bad on so many levels. Not even mediocre, but just an utter fail.

Full review:

This is the first full book I've ever read from author Sara Fawkes, and it might end up being my last with how vexed this book made me. I don't get into the measure of telling others how to write or how a work should be written because usually that's up to the style of the writer in question - and in due respect - you know, everyone's different. In the same light, I also don't make judgements on what engages one's sensuality as far as a work is concerned, particularly with respect to this genre because, again, everyone's different.

But "Anything He Wants" was just a failure all around - I don't understand the hype behind it. I guess in the rush to compliment the 50 Shades craze (which to me is a craze I have yet to understand, because erotica's been around a lot longer than E.L. James's refurbished fanfiction - and I would argue in better quality), there are many writers trying to emulate that success, even down to writing about a humdrum heroine, and a wealthy billionaire that asks said heroine to submit to his every whim. And said heroine either completely accepts it with or without terms, or accepts it and claims "Why the heck am I doing this?"

If you don't believe me, the protagonist from "Anything He Wants" pretty much does the same thing as the latter in spurts. But I'm getting ahead of myself.

You might be thinking "All right Rose - tell me in constructive detail and outside of digressive ranting - what's wrong with this book?"

I can't give you just one answer for that. There are multiple layers of problems in this work, and it goes beyond the level of editing and simply combining a work from a serial format (which is a major problem, but not the one I'll focus on just yet). I knew a little bit about Fawkes's work before this point because I downloaded the very first part of her "Dominated by the Billionaire" series from Amazon when it was offered as a freebie. It was a five part serial published I think for $2.99 a pop, give or take. I didn't get a chance to read the first part because I had other books positioned before it. Yet, when I saw this as an ARC, offered as the collective series, I thought I'd request it to have the chance to read it in full. For me, my perusal of the erotica genre's been more curiosity and looking for writers that not only establish their character relationships well and write well, but provide good stories that can be returned to in later spectrums.

I did have some hope that this would be a story I'd enjoy reading and that would engage me. The blurb, while a familiar troupe, seemed interesting on the surface. I gave it a fair shot.

Let me start with a brief summation of things: Lucy Delacorte is your usual office worker who crushes on the mysterious high society guy she passes by. Within the first 13 pages or so of my galley, they start engaging in sexy times in the elevator. There's no "Hi, how are you?" or introduction of any kind. It's just a measure where the MC jumps the LI's bones, pretty much fulfilling Lucy's initial fantasies without any rhyme or reason, and for some unknown reason he seems to be ready for her. Never mind that we know nothing about this guy or what attracts Lucy to him, never mind that we know nothing about Lucy (in fact, her name was mentioned on page 9, but wasn't mentioned again until page 40 of my galley - that's an awful long time to not mention a character name, and I came dangerously close to forgetting her name more than a few times).

Then said mystery man surprises her in another so-called romantic encounter by grabbing her from behind and covering her mouth and sensually engaging her even when initially she tells him to stop (I didn't find that sexy at all) - never mind we still know nothing about him. I hated that particular scene because while he says he wouldn't do anything to her she didn't want him to do, he does it while he's still all over her. No kind of respect whatsoever. Lo and behold, she's turned on by it, though on the same level of questioning what she's doing. (I asked the very same question.)

Lucy complains about her humdrum job, her missed chances at law school (which come with an understandable reason later on, but it's given very little intimacy, so I didn't feel much for it when it was revealed). Later on, we learn that Lucy is on the verge of losing her job and the sexy stranger she engaged in the elevator: turns out to be one of her head bosses (who didn't see that one coming!). Lucy's (understandably) horrified. The boss, Jeremiah as we learn much later than reasonable, offers her a proposal for a new position.

Doing anything he wants. Hence the title, commence the eyerolling.

I could go into further details about where the story goes (the couple ends up in Paris, Lucy ends up getting drugged unexpectedly, Jeremiah's family's embroiled in a lot of drama, etc.), but honestly, there was a point where I just stopped caring. I read the whole story, but the experience was like speaking through one ear and the message coming out of the other with nothing to cling. I had very little connection to it. The events were implausible, ridiculous, unsexy, and not to mention incomplete. There's no HEA here, not even really an ending to speak of. If I were more invested, I probably would've been even further vexed, but for me, the incompletion was just the cherry topping on the melted sundae.

Never mind that the sex scenes are quite poorly written - there's really no palpable chemistry between these two leading characters because there's no way of knowing them, and you don't actually get to know anything about them until it's far too late to care. There's more attention paid to Lucy trying to adjust her clothing than actually focusing on the man her affections are turned toward or even towards herself until much later in the work. Writers: if you're writing ANYTHING - you have to have a fair amount of character intimacy for your story to have a selling point - and if we (meaning the reader) know nothing about who these characters are, you might as well be writing pieces of sandpaper rubbing against each other - because it's not going to have the impact intended.

Rule of thumb: if a character says he/she's bored, the reader is likely to be bored. Lucy said she didn't like her life early on in the work, so it didn't provide me with any level to care about what her life was like at that point in time - and I wanted to. I had to ask: where the hell are her circle of friends? (This is later answered, but again, it's way, way late.) Where/What are the things she cares about (which is what I'm more interested in finding out, quite frankly)? And as for Jeremiah - a hot wealthy man is not something by itself that will turn anyone on (at least not by singular definition) - the attraction lends more to what's behind that image. The man wears the clothes, the clothes don't wear the man, so to speak. I don't know about anyone else, but as I mentioned in one of my reviews penned well before this - a hot body or status of power does not impress me when it comes to seeing sensual chemistry. I wanna know who this man is and why the MC is attracted to him, and he to her. Who are these characters, and why should we care? If you can't answer those questions (which are simple in phrasing, but much more complex to consider) - the story rarely works, not without some other elements to consider.

Then I have to transition to the plot from the characters. Lucy just decides to engage in sexy times with this stranger, finds out she's about to be fired by said stranger who presides over her, gets interviewed during more sexy times, then she just agrees to do whatever he wants for the money and uproot her life to do so. I have to question the logic in that. Let alone, I don't think this book knew what it wanted to become - a erotic romance between two people, a family drama, a mystery/conspiracy? There were just too many elements thrown out without rhyme or reason, and for a collected, cohesive work that does not fly. Even considering this was - at one point - a serial work, there still needs to be some consistency and plausibility in the storyline. Do the decisions these characters decide make sense? Are the events consistent with events prior to this? Those kinds of considerations. None of "Anything He Wants" made any kind of sense, nor was it engaging or made me want to care about the plight of the characters within it.

These are some among many reasons why the story did not work for me. It's bad writing, poorly developed characterizations, unsexy scenes, Mary Sueish plots that make very little sense, and just an overarching sense of disconnect. I was disappointed, and in putting this book down, I do not seek to pick it up again. I would not recommend it - there are far, FAR better erotic novels to peruse than this.

Overall score: 0.5/5

Note: I received this as an ARC from NetGalley, from the publisher St. Martin's Griffin.

2 stars - OK, I guess. A few things did not sit well with me.

Hmmm…I’m having a déjà lu (as opposed to déjà vu) moment. Have I read this book before? Or something very much like it? I really wanted to like this book; I had high hopes. Unfortunately, this book read very much like a fan fiction.

Anything He Wants: Dominated by the Millionaire is the story of Lucy Delacourt, a young temp. Every morning she rides the elevator with a very handsome stranger. He notices her, and is attracted to her, and things get hot and steamy. Later that day, she once again hooks up with the gorgeous stranger and has another hot and heavy encounter in the building’s parking lot.

The next day, Lucy is summoned to the company CEO’s office. Guess who the handsome stranger is? Jeremiah Hamilton. CEO of Hamilton Industries. Big surprise. Jeremiah tells her that his company is laying off all temp workers, but he makes her an offer she can’t refuse. Jeremiah proceeds to interview her bent over his desk for a well-paying “personal assistant” position.

*Facepalm* OK, this is so wrong on many levels. Here, we have a subordinate female employee (in a very subordinate position) in financial difficulties basically backed into an “agreement” with the boss to do anything he wants. Sexual harassment lawsuit, anyone? The reality is that Lucy really had no choice – she needed a job.

I found the sex kind of boring. Jeremiah kind of likes his sex the same way. Sure, there were a few added toys here and there, but really, it kind of lacked the spark you see in other novels.

With regards to the story, it was just OK for me. Nothing really stood out. There was an exciting story line about an assassination attempt and Jeremiah comes to the rescue. Apparently our billionaire CEO was also an army ranger sniper a few years back. Quite handy. I did like Jeremiah’s brother Lucas.

I must say that publishing a serialized novel should entail a little more editing in order to make all the parts of the serial more cohesive. I found the ending to be quite abrupt – it felt like the story was somehow incomplete.

Anything He Wants did not work for me. Readers who like serialized novels may enjoy this more than I did.

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Griffin for a review copy of this book.

Overall rating - 5 out of 5
Covers & Titles - 5 out of 5
Favorite Line - “As I'd had nothing between my legs not run by batteries in well over a year, my fantasies were getting pretty kinky
Favorite Character – Lucas
Song for the book – Bittersweet Symphony – The verve

I was so glad I got a chance to read this book in the complete format instead of the separate books which it was released first. I know for a fact if I had read it the other way that I would of ended up frustrated & not enjoyed it as much as I did.
I loved this book, it had me hooked from the very beginning. I was breathless with anticipation at times. I loved the emotion, drama, sex & action. It was a completely fulfilling experience. I enjoyed getting to know the characters, their back story & kinks as the book went on. I liked Lucy a lot and she lived up to everything I wanted in the ending. Jeremiah was a bit of love & hate, majority love however. I was so unbelievably pleased with the ending I actually clapped a bit when I finished reading.
Now I am left wondering what happens next? Please tell me there is more... I am now while typing this review trying to guess where the story is going to go. I cannot wait to check the authors website & find out.

I would recommend this book & I plan on reading more by this author.

Clarissa Knightly did a good job with this book. The guys sounded like guys and girls sounded like girls. And the characters sounded different enough so that I had no trouble following along.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars!!

"Anything I want." Wow, shivers! Jeremiah is a great character. I just wanted to say before the rest of the review how much I grew to like him, though I had misgivings for quite a bit of the first part of the book.

I could definitely tell that this book was written in different parts. I originally thought I wanted to write a review for this treating it as a whole, but I just don't think it's possible. There are some really definitive lines that separate each part from the others.

PART 1 - Ummm, goodness! Within four pages, Jeremiah and Lucy get their skanky on! Lucy has been not-so-secretly stalking Jeremiah's elevator rides just to see the gorgeous that is him. When they find themselves alone on the elevator one morning, she finds out quickly that her attention hasn't gone unnoticed. Talk about a slam, finger, thank you ma'am!

This part reads like a very fast mediocre erotica. I was surprised how quickly the first sexual scene takes place. I suppose for shock value, it worked and grabbed my interest. But it also made me not really look forward to reading a book full of sex and no substance. Especially when the second encounter happens within just a few more pages.

PART 2 - Lucy is mortified at her behavior in the elevator. Sure, fantasies are great. But acting on them, in public, at work no less? Not the norm for her. When she finds out just who the stranger she lost all inhibitions with is not only her boss, but the kajillionaire owner of the company, her humiliation is complete. Then she's called to his office where he makes an offer she can't refuse...and they end up in Paris. Where she is there to do...well, anything he wants!

While the heat is still on during this installment of the story, Lucy's character starts to show some depth. She's a lonely woman who recently lost everything...her loving parents, her ivy league college education, and her childhood home. She's now just barely scraping by and on the verge of being homeless. Her situation pulled on my heartstrings and though I can't condone her choices, helped me empathize with her. Jeremiah solidified his status as a ruthless rich man used to getting what he wants. I started questioning how I could actually fall in love with his character, as it seems as if he's taking advantage of a young, naive woman in a hopeless situation. Though he does shower her with lavish attention sexually...the man in a master seducer and completely in control in the bedroom...he also uses his position of power to overwhelm Lucy.

PARTS 3, 4, and 5 Whoa! Was this written by a different author? These nest three parts were SO MUCH BETTER, so much more sophisticated than the first two parts. I had a tough time putting my reader down to live my life.

Jeremiah and Lucy travel to Paris on a business trip where intrigue and action take over the story and lust turns to passion. Turn out Jeremiah never wanted the life he leads. He was forced into the role of Hamilton industries CEO. Not everyone wants him there, and there are a few people that hold some grudges against him for his success...not the least of all his brother.

This turns quickly into an erotica romantic suspense novel, and I just LOVED the last half of this book! Jeremiah is a dominating, controlling, insatiable man in the bedroom and Lucy has the perfect temperament for him. She's not a pushover but she loves giving him control in all sexual ways. He always pushes her limits but never further than she wants to go. She gets to explore her sexual boundaries, and she revels in it. There are these poignant moments of tenderness too, in which we get to see the longing in Jeremiah for something more with Lucy. He always holds himself back but to me, he's just as lonely as the woman he's obviously falling for. The difference is, he doesn't even know what he's missing. He's never had the loving and tenderness that Lucy had growing up. All of the people in his life are devious and fake. And he knows it. He begins to see in Lucy what he didn't know he's missing. This is never, ever said in words. The author does a wonderful job of showing the reader Jeremiah's inner longing right alongside his steadfast control.

The ending to the book is a cliffhanger, but boy it's a good one! It makes me question the loyalties of all players involved. I have no idea where the author could take this series...honestly, there are so many directions she could go! The twist at the end made me gasp out loud. Maybe it's my naivete showing through but I didn't see it coming! I'm so anxious to get the next book and frustrated because there is no word on even a tentative release date!

To sum it all up: Parts 1 and 2 would have averaged out to maybe a 2.5 rating for me. Just no substance, no direction, and read like an amateur erotica. Parts 3, 4, and 5 were around a 4.5 rating. I loved it, and they more than made up for the weird as hell meeting between this couple.

ARC provided by the publisher through Net Galley for an honest review...my big thanks to both for the chance to read it!!

A cliffhanger?!? Seriously!?!

Ok, I've got to take some of the blame for this. I read the first part if the book when it can out in serial form. I'm not a fan of serial books, so I didn't keep up with the story. When I saw they were out in one book, I ASSumed it would be the whole story. Nope. While it is a books worth, it's apparently far from the end of the story, which really ticks me off.

As for the story itself. The beginning was, well, ok. There was insta-attraction which translates into some serious canoodling before Lucy even knows who Jeremiah is (or even his name). Not my favorite part of the book. In fact, I was regretting my purchase big time. But then the excitement starts. I much preferred the mystery/action portion of the book .

But, just as things appeared to be (mostly) wrapping up, we get our cliffhanger. .

So, now I'm going to feel obligated to find out what happens to Lucy. Grr. I've got to say, I did love Jeremiah's reaction to Lucy telling him she loves him. I know he didn't mean it the way I'd like him to mean it (this is a romance book after all and we all know the score with these damaged hero's) but I loved it anyway.

Okay ladies, you know how we are always looking for that next fix after Fifty? Well, this book helped me get mine. There are a few Christian qualities to Mr. Hamilton and I could not help but think of our Mr. Grey several times while reading.

The one thing that I loved with this book was the little tads of humor thrown in here and there. The main character of Lucy is a tad bit snarky, but, also a tad submissive. She often wonders to herself if she could take much more of Jeramiah’s clipped tone and dominant ways. But, he has her under a spell and she soon is not able to turn back even if she wanted to.

Jeramiah…very swoonworthy! He is very dominant and ex-military which only makes him even hotter in my book! He has a tender side too though that only comes through when he is with Lucy. I need to say here that his mother is just plain aweful! She puts a major twist on the storyline when things finally heat up.

I have never read anything by this writer before and to be honest, I only first heard of her through Netgalley. BUT, I am curious if this series will continue on? There was a wonderful mix of lust, love, betrayal and action. The makes of the perfect book that held my attention through to the end.

Like all love stories, there is a cliffhanger ending. The writer leaves us with a little bit of a comical yet sad ending. I can only hope the next book will be out soon! Surely, the writer cannot leave us hanging???

I am very confused right now??? Did the book really end this way?? I can't tell if I enjoyed this book or hated it!! I mean wtf?? ok I see the point of always watching a hot guy in an elevator and maybe even possibly setting the time to make sure that you ride at the same time to check him out but come on??? Within the first couple of pages I'm waiting for the chick to wake up!!! When she doesn't I'm like...HELL NO!! OMG!! I don't know if I could EVER lower my inhabitions that low to do what she did twice in one day without even knowing his freakin name!!! Then the next day sign a contract to do and be anything he wants!! UUUMMM OKAY!!!
Then lets forget about all that and go to paris and have a strong emotional connection(really good sex) the next day and feel like saying I love you!!!WTF But of course here is where I get all confused and conflicted because me being this "romantic retard" I feel for her...then she gets poisoned and what do you know mr. clam goes back in his shell and now I don't like him when she was the slut that started it!! WTF?? I'm soooo confused???
I know I'm babbling but I'm so conflicted with how I feel about this story!! When it was good...it was really good...but it made me forget about the stupid way the shit began and how quickly it moved!! I understand that it is fiction...believe me I read ALOT and I write ALOT but I think I'm having not only a hard time with the story line but with the end?? Where is the rest??? The action was good, the details were great, the sex scenes were superb(could have done without the anal play, just not my thing) the chemistry between the characters was ???
I mean the ending was like ok?? Are you fucking kidding me?? I looked it up I was excited Oh there's 5 books...um no the book I just read was all 5 stories. You cannot get readers this involved in characters and just like that get her kidnapped and then have the brother say lets go or you will be doing what he wants all the time let him chase you!! (or something like that) That's bullshit I'd rather the story be finished. I don't even know if I necessarily like this story but I like the way the author wrote it!! Does that make sense?? IDK!! I just don't like the end...it needs more...there has to be more to this story!! That's just my opinion I guess!!

OK, I am going to give this story 4 stars for 'steaminess' but only 3.5 for originality of the story. While this was a good, entertaining read it seems to fall into the ever growing Fifty Shades genre. Not that I am complaining mind you, because that is a yummy genre and all but I am finding I need something a little more occasionally.

This is actually a compilation of 5 novella's into one and like I said, while it was steamy, the story didn't really get gripping for me until the last story. Which by the way, ends the entire thing with an effing cliffhanger!!! But, I am told there is going to be more to come.

I won't even really get into the story as I am fairly sure as with all of the stories falling into this type of genre, you already get it. You know, smoking hot, dominant, broken billionaire seeks and finds somewhat young, inexperienced chicky and she bends to his every kinky whim! That in a nut shell is the story, but this one also throws in some suspense and very interesting secondary characters which we don't really get to sink our teeth into until almost the end, which I think is part of what left me really wanting more.

All that said, this is my first read by Sara Fawkes and I can most certainly say I will be waiting anxiously to read more of this series because this girl wants answers! Cliffhangers make me crazy! :)

Reviewed for Brazen Reads: http://brazenreads.com/review-anything-he-wants-by-sara-fawkes/

I need to preface this review by stating this is the first — and most likely the last — time I’ve reviewed a book by request. Tonya from The Midnight Garden knows I read and review a lot of erotica and asked for my take on this book.

I may never speak to her again.

Anything He Wants was originally self-published as a five-part serial novel before it was picked up by St. Martin’s Griffin. Judging by the ARC that was provided by NetGalley and the publisher for this review, not a lot of editing was done for its major publication release.

What you get here: a Fifty Shades copycat with a very similar plot, very similar super-purple prose, and a lot of laughable moments.

From the very beginning, the heroine, Lucy Delacourt, is out of her depth. She has “kinky” fantasies about a stranger in an elevator at her temp job, and to Lucy, “kinky” means “sex against the wall.” Quelle horror! If you are surprised that the stranger is the CEO of the company she’s working for, you don’t know much about the whole billionaire CEO erotica novel, and if you are surprised that Lucy ends up working as his personal assistant, well then, this might be the novel for you.

She has sex with him in the parking garage before she even knows his name, even when he’s acting much like he’ll force her. Quite the turn-on, isn’t it? She goes to work for him even though doing so violates just about every labor law known to mankind (not to mention how the company handles temporary labor violates even more, but we all know research is for losers in this genre, so why bother?) and the interview is nothing short of sexual harassment, but that’s somehow supposed to be sexy.

Beyond the repetition of thesaurus finds (“implacable” appears to be the word of the book, along with “proximity”), overuse of the word “member” to describe our billionaire hero’s genitals, because apparently, while we can use all the words for a female’s parts, it’s too difficult to describe a man’s, and other things that should have been fixed in edits, the prose is stilted, the sex scenes are often laughable (“bobbing and weaving” during fellatio brought to mind an unfortunate image of a boxing match), and I wanted to burn my bra nearly the entire way through this book.

The BDSM in this book is BDSM lite, at best. Commanding her to kneel during fellatio. Delayed orgasm (and naturally, she can come on command every time). Tying her to the headboard with his belt. Buying her leather cuffs. Again, this is BDSM for the Fifty Shades crowd: nothing too titillating or edgy to offend anyone’s sensibilities. Unless you are overly fond of the English language, in which case abuse of the language and ellipses are sure to offend.

Every trope imaginable from fan fictions is dragged out here. Expensive champagne is sent to their shared suite? Well, Lucy is going to teach her boss how to do body shots with it. (Classy, no?) When Lucy meets her boss’ mother, she insults her in French. Rudely. But no one can understand her other than the reader, for whom the entire exchange is translated. So it’s all okay and Jeremiah doesn’t realize what an uncouth assistant he has.

When the sex toys finally come out, either the author got confused over what was what, or she wasn’t sure, but the descriptions don’t seem to match what is being used. Considering Jeremiah is a former Army Ranger sniper/medic turned billionaire CEO/Dom, the overall lack of research isn’t surprising, but you’d hope at least the EROTICA would be realistic i.e., a butt plug would be described as a butt plug and not looking like a pocket rocket. The author also uses whip and flogger interchangeably: a small issue in light of other issues, but frustrating all the same.

As for the intrigue of the “assassin,” it’s laughably predictable, full of ethnic stereotyping and cartoonish in its reveal. It’s as if the author kept thinking up new backstory as she wrote, and the easiest way to get everyone out of the corners she wrote them into was offing them. By page 350, I wanted to gouge my eyes out. By the end of the book, when Lucy would surely be suffering from post-traumatic stress, yet we get a sex scene complete with vibrator and other toys, I just wanted my life back. That the book is set up for a sequel just makes me cringe.

This genre — unrealistic erotica involving little research and even less editing — itself is frustrating, but the watering down of the copycat books such as this one with little thought for editing is something I find insulting. Am I the only woman out there who wants erotica with a great plot and smart writing that’s witty and sexy at the same time? Where the sex scenes are as well-written as the rest of the book? Where the entire book could stand up against any other genre when it comes to award time?

Reading erotica shouldn’t be a guilty pleasure, and whenever I get a book like Anything He Wants for review, I get angry, mostly because I feel that both the author and the publisher feel that BECAUSE of the genre it doesn’t deserve the same type of effort it would if it were another genre.

Thanks to the suggestion of @AnimeJune, here’s a Storify of my live tweets as I was reading:

Review on Passion for Pages

The one star is only because I have to fill something in--nothing more.

I requested this book so I really only have myself to blame, I suppose. The summary sounded good, although a little too much like Shades and that itself should have warned me to stay away. But I didn’t; I was desperate for some erotica. I think I could have liked this book until I read this line…

“His casual dismissal annoyed me.”

….and saw red. She’s trying to fight off this guy’s advances and the author refers to it as a “casual dismissal” when he ignores her and continues to do whatever the hell he wants to her?

Um, this isn’t like an idea being brushed off by your boss. This isn’t your boyfriend shrugging off the comment that you’re pissed at him. This isn’t your mother telling you you’re just being overly sensitive when she comments on your slight weight gain. All of those would be “casual dismissal” of your feelings or thoughts.

This is a woman fighting a guy off who wants to have sex with her.
Just because she was too shell shocked in an elevator and went along with his feel up doesn’t give him the right to attack her in a parking garage and ignore her attempts at fighting him off. I don’t care if she wasn’t afraid or angry, she told him to let her go. This isn’t some role playing act between lovers; this was a second attack by a guy she only knows by riding an elevator. That is called rape—not a “casual dismissal”.

“I would never take a woman who doesn’t want me.” What the fuck did he think he was doing?! She’s struggling to get away, even if she suddenly finds herself turned on, and he won’t let her go! She hasn’t said yes, yet he’s feeling her up all the while telling her he would never take a woman who didn’t want him?

Hey, I’m all for sexy reluctance play; it’s sometimes hot to be coaxed into giving it up—by my husband. Not some random creep off an elevator. This was not sexy. This was…degrading. Disturbing. Sickening.

But then he says the “magic words” and suddenly she’s into, so I guess that makes it all okay, right? Fuck. That.

Keep in mind however, by the end of book one she does sell her body and soul and becomes a glorified whore personal assistant. Sure, whatever. She’s been living with a friend for too long, she has student loans to pay off, blah, blah, blah. Call it whatever you want, the only personal assistance she was going to be giving was to her boss’s dick.

That’s as far as I got and I couldn’t put my poor brain through anymore—the twenty minutes it took to read those first 60 pages was painful enough. I didn’t like the original 50 Shades; I can’t torture myself to read another billionaire taking a sudden interest in yet another plain, boring doe eyed woman. Make these women worth something! Make them work for it! Make them have at least one redeeming quality to make a man want them. I’m sick of reading the same alpha male hero seducing the same innocent, meek female lead.

I read some of the other reviews for this book and think maybe I gave up too soon. But the truth is, even with my rage aside from that rape sex scene, if I had been reading this as separate books like it had been originally written I would never have picked up the second part, therefore this is a did not finish for me.

Anything He Wants was originally published as a five-part e serial novel. On November 27th, 2012, Anything He Wants will be available for the first time ever as a complete book. I recently had the privilege of reading Anything He Wants because I received an ARC through NetGalley. Below is an honest review for Anything He Wants (Dominated by the Billionaire #1-5) by Sara Fawkes.

Going into this novel, I thought that Anything He Wants was a stand-alone novel. I knew that it was comprised of five short stories that were originally published separately, but I didn't realize that there was going to be more to this story until I got to the very end of this novel. At first, I found myself getting disappointed the closer I got to the end of this novel, but then I realized that Anything He Wants is the first novel in a new series and I had a little dance party!

Lucy and Jeremiah are the type of characters that you need more time with, especially Jeremiah. Jeremiah is a multifaceted alpha male. It's obvious that there is more to him that meets the eye, and I'm very curious to learn more about his character. Lucy is an interesting heroine. Her financial situation makes her options limited. Her lack of support takes away her options and it makes her seem naive, but she really isn't. She's a strong and interesting character.

Like I said before this novel is split into five sections. To be completely honest, the first two sections were my least favorite. Don't get me wrong the first two sections of this novel were HOT and extremely entertaining, but in my opinion, the "romance" happened a little too fast. The first two sections focused more on hot sex than anything else. The characters had a physical connection but their emotional connection was lacking. Also, my connection with the characters was lacking. Sections three, four, and five blew my mind. The author really stepped things up, and I became totally invested in Lucy and Jeremiah.

I went into this novel expecting a smutty, sexy story. Oh, Anything He Wants is definitely a smutty, sexy story, but it's not just a smutty, sexy story. The beginning of this novel was a lot of hot sex, but this erotic romance novel is also full of action, suspense, and surprising twists.

Personally, I really enjoy erotic novels but I don't connect with Dominant/submissive type relationships unless I have a strong connection with the characters. At first, I lacked that connection, but the author definitely built the connection throughout the story.

I love the way this novel ended. Even though I hate cliffhangers, I absolutely love the way this novel ended. It gave me hope, and it set the stage for the sequel perfectly. Yes, it's a cliffhanger, but it's a cliffhanger that holds a lot of promise. I can't wait to see what the author has in store for Lucy and Jeremiah next.

I gave Anything He Wants (Dominated by the Billionaire #1-5) by Sarah Fawkes 4 STARS. I strongly recommend this novel to all adults who enjoy erotic novels with Dominant/submissive relationships.

-XOXO

I received a copy of this book from Net Galley.

While I appreciate receiving a free copy of this book, I cannot recommend it. I suffered through it and ended up finishing it by skimming the last half while watching television. This is yet another example of the Fifty Shades of Grey-like books out there and a particularly egregious example at that. In the book's defense, maybe it's me? Maybe I'm just over this particular formulaic love story/fantasy dynamic, maybe I was never that into it to begin with. Either way, I've had enough.

This novel is about Lucy Delacourt, a poor girl who had to drop out of college when her parents were killed and who is working a temp job. (Note: her whole back story had potential and it would have improved the book to see it expanded upon.) The highlight of her day is riding the elevator with the smoking hot man on the way to her desk every morning. Until one morning (when things get rape-y) and she finds herself alone in the elevator with hot stranger. And he abruptly stops the elevator and this exchange happens:

...Ok, I can't even type it. It's too horrible. But basically, before ever having had a single conversation he presses his junk all up on her, and goes to town on her. I'm pretty sure the vast majority of women (especially me) would flip out if an unknown man just came up behind me and put his hands all over me. That's just...not acceptable behavior. There are millions of drunken one night stands, probably happening somewhere on the globe right now as I type, that have involved more finesse than this so called sophisticated billionaire. What's worse, after work, he stalks her in the parking garage, which is where they first officially have sex. So sexy, right? Those parking garages, man. More build up before the main event would have done wonders for both suspense and authenticity of the plot.

After this (instead of calling the police), Lucy agrees to become his personal assistant, which includes giving him "anything he wants." They fly to Paris, she is near fatally poisoned, he flies her home and imprisons her in his home while they seek who's responsible, yada yada. I hated it. I think it's time for a different fantasy, ladies of America. I think it's time for some more consensual sex. It just rubbed me the wrong way (no pun intended) that this girl without financial resources or the physical ability to fight him off is basically coerced into this relationship. In Jeremiah's defense, he does try to "resist" her when he's got her basically locked up in his home, but the whole locked up and boss versus employee dynamic sort of makes that point nil.

I think with some plot and character development (and seriously, please, less rape-like situations), this book could have some potential. I did like the idea of the personal assistant, and if executed correctly, that could be intriguing. But I am over these bossy billionaires for good.

Some of my favorite authors are published by St Martin's Press, and so when I came across this title I thought that this might be a good example of the emerging Fifty Shades of Grey sub-genre.

All the elements are there: a very, very rich and handsome man, absurdly young to have accomplished so much, but then he is very driven, mostly by anger. He has never had any interest in a serious or permanent relationship -- until one day he meets, totally by accident, a young woman who immediately engages his interest and lust. For reasons that are not clear, Lucy is immediately and provocatively receptive to his sexual advances, in semi public places.

Lucy is his polar opposite in almost every way; she comes from a loving family, but has lost everything and now works temp jobs in an failing effort to keep herself fed and housed. Jeremiah offers her a job as his mistress, no rationalizations, no excuses. He wants sex and obedience and anything else that comes to mind. She discovers that she actually likes this obedience thing. She makes this discovery on a private jet on the way to Paris, when she's known him for less than twenty-four hours. She also discovers that his life is in danger, and thus her own life is in danger, and what time she spends not submitting sexually she spends caught up in one complicated action scene after another.

I read this novel in its final draft phase, a reviewer's copy supplied by the publisher through netgalley. I am a published author myself and I know that such galleys will contain errors of various kinds -- typos, repetitions, etc. I am willing and able to ignore such things and to focus on the story. But in this case, my sense is that there was no editing at all. The novel began with a series of weblog posts. There is in theory nothing wrong with that, but in practice it will mean that a lot of close editing is needed in order to draw all the pieces together into a cohesive single unit. Somehow that process never seems to have happened here. The result is a choppy, uneven and rough read that detracts from an already not-even-middle-of-the-road, sexually explicit romance.

I'm not sure if I read the same story as all of the top reviewers. This is a completed edition consisting of 5 segments previously written separately. I was expecting the billionaire/damsel in distress characters. But there was no chemistry. I actually found myself getting mad at the degrading and frankly criminal abuse. Hoping to God that there was a really really big change of direction coming. Sadly, nothing changes.
When I first read FSOG, It became blatantly obvious within the first few pages that the writing was at the level of a 4th grader. That being said, I was engaged with the development of the characters. It was BELIEVABLE in that the heroine discovered what she was missing from her intimate life. I WANTED to read the crappy writing because I was invested.

But this book is just straight disrespectful and gross abuse. Mentally, verbally, and most of all physically..borderline rape. There is nothing sexy, or remotely erotic about this umm "love story". Potentially, a huge direction shift could have made this tolerable, but isn't that how it always is? The sex is plentiful and descriptive but it holds zero weight and cannot be related to unless you're into the date rape kind of thing. Don't waste your money. Not a single page is worth it..... not one

This is the story of one semi-innocent young woman, Lucy Delacourt, and a crush that turns into an unbelievable reality in just a blink of an eye.

A temp at a prestigious company, Lucy knows she’s not at her dream job, but needs to keep this position to save more money to land on her own feet. The best moment in her day is when she GETS OFF[image error] every morning!

Right out the box, Lucy and this sexy stranger LIT ME ON FIRE
Photobucket my with their ‘little’ activity in the elevator. Never could she imagine that she would become this crazy WANTON woman with her sex dream, and in an elevator at that. Caught totally off guard by their impromptu activity in the elevator, this sexual deed leads into a more vivid voyeuristic opportunity when the sexy demanding stranger pulls Lucy into the shadows of the parking garage to ‘take her’ fast and hard. ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING.

Of course things change drastically when Lucy is called into ‘a meeting’ only to find that the sexy stranger is Jeremiah Hamilton, CEO of the company. Dazed and confused, humiliated and scared, embarrassed and yet still hot and aching, Lucy can only imagine that type of trouble she’s in. But Jeremiah proposes a lucrative option that could leave them both happy. Instead of being laid-off with the rest of her department, she can agree to being his personal assistant and doing ‘WHATEVER HE WANTS {where ever he wants}. Now she struggles with the excitement and anxiety of that meaning.

Never did she imagine that being his assistant would put her in the line of fire for those that would literally do anything to take Jeremiah Hamilton down. Life as she’s known it has changed drastically in just a blink. Private jets, luxurious hotels, extreme mind-blowing orgasms, threats on his life, threats on her life and of course a sexy man that she can call her’s–even if just for a moment– have changed her.

There’s enough action, betrayal, horrible characters and sex in this story to keep you completely occupied. You have an intense shoot out at the Hamilton compound whichSCARED ME SHITLESS THINKING SOMEONE I LIKED WOULD DIE. Then there was the sex. Sex in the elevator, sex in the garage, sex in the boat house, you name they’ve probably had sex there [SEX EVERYWHERE] Photobucket [image error] Photobucket .

Of course you have those that you despise; Mrs. Hamilton [MEDUSA] hateful queen B. I kinda wish she was the one that was poisoned. Celeste really got under my skin and I wanted to introduce her face to the pavement!! [image error] But I gave her some leniency once I got her whole story.

At the end... We are left with a CLIFFHANGER THAT MAKES YOU WANNA SLAP YOUR MOMMA
[image error] A TOTAL WTF moment. Sara has to finish the story.

The Best Thing:
This story was a like a fairy tale gone nightmare. You dream about your man and obsess over him from afar and then one day your dream comes true. Your dream man notices you and you beginning an ‘affair’ or ‘relationship’ [what have you] with him. Nightmare; you are now in danger just by being with him. This was a creative way to capture the reader and I really enjoyed it. Every girl/woman out there has, at one time or another, dreamed or obsessed over a man that she doesn’t really know but wish she could. Jeremiah was great in the sense that [I love Alpha men] and he was definitely one. He fit the standard character in books like this; wealthy, intelligent, possessive, in control and a hard ass. Lucy was good in the sense that she was just your average girl that got dealt a rough hand at and early age because her family died. (Who couldn’t relate to her in some way)

The worst thing:
Tying up the lose ends could have been done better in this series. (unless I’m waiting for another book!!) .
There are a few things that don’t really make sense (if we are suppose to refer to reality). I really didn’t like that half way through the book with everything happening in Paris; the poisoning, the sex, the dates, the sex and more sex, nothing else seemed to be happening with Jeremiah’s work anymore. When they arrive back state side the extremely busy Jeremiah (or so we are told)–who always works and rarely takes off– hasn’t been back to the office. He hasn’t really concentrated on work at all. (I get that he’s concerned for Lucy’s safety but still weird habit to drop cold turkey). Also, Lucy has been been gone for at least a couple of weeks now. First, taking off to Paris with Jeremiah and then coming back but being stuck in his mansion until the threat is over. Please note: Never once did she contact her roommate and let her know what happened (even the part where she was ‘promoted’)WTH. Toward the end of the story when the truth comes out about Lucas, Jeremiah, their mom and even Celeste, some of their individual stories aren’t wrapped up. Lucas is ‘supposedly’ taken into custody for his involvement in selling illegal fire arms (we know where he really is). Celeste meets her unfortunately and frankly shitty end after she admits her intentions and feelings for Lucas. Jeremiah realizes the truth about his mom and brother. And lastly, their mom is outed for stealing the money from the company, but what the hell happened to her?? So what she just gets off and Lucas takes the fall...that’s BS.

Most of all, I hope that this isn’t the last book. I hate that I am left with my imagination to figure out why Lucas has kidnapped Lucy again and what Jeremiah will do. It’s so confusing especially because he’s been outwardly indecisive with his feelings toward Lucy. As a reader of this story I still feel like I don’t really know Jeremiah and definitely have no idea how he feels for Lucy.

This book was very... unexpected. I was expecting this to be a very "meh" read but it was actually quite.. good. The sex scenes were explosive and very well written, I found myself very shocked at the first scene.
“I can smell your arousal,” he growled, that low sexy voice making my stomach tighten. “Every morning you get on this elevator and I can smell your need.” One hand moved down and entwined with mine as he dipped his head toward my neck. “What’s your name?” My mind went blank for a moment, forgetting the simplest of answers. Oh God, that voice is pure sex, I thought wildly, lifting my hands to brace against the hard surface before me. It was low and had a lilt I couldn’t place, and my chest grew tight with need. “Lucy,” I finally managed, my brain short circuiting. “Lucy,” he repeated, and I drew in a shaky breath hearing my name said in that too-sexy voice. “I need to see if you taste as good as you smell.” There was no request for permission in his voice only an implacable demand, and I rolled my head sideways to allow him access. His lips slid across the soft skin behind my ear, tongue flicking out to touch me; his teeth nipped the lobe and I moaned, pressing back against him. He rotated his hips and my breathing sped up, needy pants a staccato in the silence.”
description

The book starts off with our female MC, Lucy Delacourt. She's currently working a temp position at Hamilton Industries. Every morning, she gets on the elevator and the sexy stranger is always on it. Her attraction to him is instant and has been for the past few months, every dirty dream has his face in it, every fantasy has him in it, and she can't shake him. The next thing she realizes, she's alone in the elevator with him and he has her pushed up against the elevator doors with his hand between her legs, whispering dirty promises in her ear. The rest of the day, she can't breathe, eat, or think about anything else but the sound of his voice and the skill of his fingers, until her boss comes in and announces to her that the CEO Jeremiah Hamilton would like to speak to her. Once she enters Mr. Hamilton's office, she sees the sexy stranger sitting in the big chair. "What in god's name have I got myself into?"

Now I usually avoid reading Novellas, mainly because they're basically a novel but broken up and it's too much effort to just read one goddamn book but this book was on my TBR list for months and months and I just had to give it a chance. This book was deliciously yummy and I'm not usually into the whole military thing but it didn't play that big of a part in this book so it was fine. The only thing I wish it focused a little more on was the characters, I don't feel like I really know Jeremiah, or Lucy and although I sort of know their family situations, I don't know it deep enough so hopefully that's addressed in Castaway! I surprisingly found myself liking Lucas, even in the beginning. I didn't hate him, I'm excited for his bigger part in the next book! Woot woot, alright. Overall, good, sweet, short, easy read so definitely recommend it to those who just need a nice, easy, layback book that doesn't get you all frustrated and emotional.

What a hot, steamy, captivating read!

Anything He Wants is told from the point of view of our heroine, Lucy, who is a bit down on her luck after dropping out of college due to a family tragedy. She is currently working as a temp where she is captivated every morning by a dark stranger in the elevator. After a couple of very steamy encounters in semi-public places, Lucy discovers that her dark stranger is the CEO of the company, Jeremiah Hamilton. Jeremiah advises Lucy that her temp position has been terminated but presents a solution to Lucy by offering her a position as his personal assistant doing "anything he wants." Lucy is immediately swept up in a different world and a whirlwind of events.

I liked the character of Lucy overall quite a bit, she came across as resourceful, determined, caring and resilient. She was a fairly strong character at times and then at others she gave in quite easily to Jeremiah particularly at the start of the relationship; however, I'm not sure I can blame her where Jeremiah is concerned. Jeremiah is hot, hot, hot, domineering, and complex. Their physical chemistry was one of the best parts of the book for me and I'm definitely looking forward to more in their journey.

The things that kept me from giving this book 5 stars was the lack of buildup leading to the beginning of the relationship and for me I felt that there was a lack of emotional development between Jeremiah and Lucy as much of the latter part of the book focuses on the action surrounding them. A small detail that came up and was quite bothersome was some of the repetition in sex scenes. I don't know how many times Lucy was against a wall and the phrase "weeping entrance" became cringeworthy to me by the end. Also the book was short and leaves us with quite a cliffhanger that had I not read on the author's blog she was planning to continue with their story would have pretty much ruined this book for me.

Despite these few issues for me, I do highly recommend this book. Overall I really enjoyed Anything He Wants and am very glad that I had the opportunity to read all five parts together at once. This book had quite a bit of suspense and action that surprised me as I was just expecting a romance with typical relationship problems that often appear when the hero is of the tortured, reluctant to be in a relationship billionaire variety. While there are some of those aforementioned issues, there was a lot more to this book that really kept me turning the pages and left me wanting more. The action and story along with the steamy, hot sex scenes and chemistry that were burning up the pages really made this a great read for me.

Lucy Delacourt, is someone who thinks of herself as invisible, at work and in life. Plain Jane if you will. Losing her parents while in college and then losing her family home as well. Working minimal jobs to get by and payoff her college debt she takes a temp job at Hamilton Industries.

Every morning Lucy rides the elevator at the same time just to get a glimpse of the tall, dark, mysterious stranger. She knows he’s out of her league but she can’t help be attracted to the handsome man. When it’s just the two of them and he seduces her in a mind blowing encounter. Then again after work in the parking garage, Lucy doesn’t know what to do, this isn’t like her she doesn’t understand why she is compelled to follow his orders.

She finally finds out who her mystery stranger is, her boss, Jeremiah Hamilton, CEO. He offers her a full time position as his personal assistant. When asked what kind, of course his answer was “anything I want”. With the generous offer he makes her she can get out of debt and go back to school, Lucy takes the offer.

Jeremiah Hamilton was not an easy man to connect with, he is very jaded and complex. He is very dominating and possessive and Lucy is submissive however she doesn’t understand these feelings and it’s never explained to her. There is light bondage in a few places and also minimal after care, I had a hard time with that not being in place. He did showed he cared in his own way when she was poisoned, he took her to in home in the Hamptons, although she wasn’t allowed to leave and he would never give her any answers as to what was going on, he was protecting her. Then after she was kidnapped he came to rescue her himself.

Lucas Hamilton, Jeremiahs older brother, there is no love lost among those two. However, Lucas he was witty and sarcastic, even when he was causing trouble. When Lucy meets Lucas they have an easy banter back and forth. She also can see that Lucas is using her to manipulate his brother.
However in the end, Lucy committed the ultimate sin and told Jeremiah she loved him of course he dismisses her and walks away.

I felt like the author rushed to get as much information as she could into the last chapter of the book, although I have to say it was my favorite. Left with a cliffhanger and unanswered questions it’s good to know that there will be another book.

I received this book to review through Netgalley. It was originally a 5 part series of novellas and was picked up by a publisher and now all books were combined into one. I have to admit that I liked it this way because the story was able to flow nicely together rather than having to wait for the next novella to come out and be frustrated in the process!
This book is about a billionaire Dom, Jeremiah Hamilton, who begins a relationship with a temp he sees in the elevator, Lucy Delacourt. Lucy purposely rides the elevator each morning to be able to see this smoldering hot stranger she fantasizes about each day. Everything changes for them when he finally approaches her when they are in the elevator alone together and here begins a contractual relationship between a billionaire and his “personal assistant.”
Lucy is swept away to Paris where she learns what life is like for the wealthy including high society gala fundraisers, expensive clothes and of course the danger that follows people with money. Though Lucy is frustrated about her situation, her mind and body can’t resist Jeremiah. Jeremiah is hard on the outside and doesn’t show his emotion so it’s difficult to understand what he feels for her – but we do see a different side of him when Lucy gets poisoned – an attempt on her life that should have been for Jeremiah (or perhaps both).
I liked this book for many reasons. Both characters have real flaws and you can relate to them. Jeremiah comes from a military background, having to sacrifice what he wants to become CEO of his father’s company. He comes from a dysfunctional family, how can he not turn out screwed up? But what you see in him is his need to protect Lucy. Coming from the type of background he was raised in, it makes sense that he will be afraid to love Lucy but I think he does deep down inside and just doesn’t know how to show it. I liked how the book ended where Lucy left with his brother. Throughout the book, I felt that she showed that she was growing into her own skin – becoming more self-confident, self-assured and for her to leave, finally shows that she has the strength not to stay but to make him realize what she means to him and to have him chase her rather than to have things fall naturally to his feet. I can’t wait until the next book to find out what happens with these two and to see how they will make it work. This book was filled with true passion, great sex and danger – what’s not to love! Great job!

I'm questioning my high school self and why I bought this book. Like I don't think I realized it was erotica at the time, but that's okay. At least I read it 11 years later. I ended up listening to this one fully on audio. What I will say is that I enjoyed listening to this while making sandwiches. For some reason, I always ended up getting to some really spicy scene while making sandwiches. Overall, the book was just okay and not really that great. I didn't love the plot or the sex scenes honestly. And let's be real, we are reading it for the sex scenes and if they aren't good, what's the point of the book?

This was originally published as a 5-part serial e-novel. It's since been picked up and the 5 parts that makes this book will be published in paperback format in November.

Fawkes grabs your attention on the first pages with a really hot elevator scene! After reading that scene I thought, "You have my attention!". Frankly, Fawkes didn't let me go until the last page and I was still thinking about this book long after I'd finished.

Lucy thinks herself rather plain, boring, and inexperienced...and she can't for the life of her, understand, how she managed to garner Jeremiah's attention. Jeremiah, meanwhile, is older, at the top of his game, and had an incredibly dysfunctional upbringing.

While this is very reminiscent of "50 Shades of Grey", this was decidedly better written and there was an element of mystery running throughout. The huge cliffhanger finish left me screaming for MORE! I am hoping/assuming there will be another "Dominated by the Billionaire" installment.

If you read 50 Shades and thought it could have been done better, or maybe you loved it...either way, read this! I promise you won't be disappointed.

This was suggested to me by another voracious smut reader, so I had high hopes that it would be good. Maybe I had my hopes up too high because aside from wanting my own billionaire to dominate me in an elevator, a limo, an office, the bedroom, etc, I was left wanting to know more about that billionaire. I never really got to like him because I never got to know him. I also found that the first half of the book didn't seem to match with what happens at the end of the book. What started as a story of a sexual relationship shrouded in mystery turned out to be a criminal mystery sprinkled with sex.
And it's those sex scenes alone that make this a book I'd suggest you read. Just know that you may be left wanting to feel more for why the sex is hot unless mystery (in and out of the bedroom) is your thing.
