Red Stripes by Matt Hilton is all about rescuing a boy from kidnappers when the ransom payment has gone all wrong. Then it's payback. This is another great Joe Hunter adventure but only a short story this time.

Joe Hunter is relaxing in Florida when word comes to hm that someone is looking for him. Not by name, but description, down to the special tattoo he wears from his days hunting terrorists. The description tells him who they might be: a big man in dreadlocks.

That leads back to an assignment where Joe and his partners had rescued a rich kid and his girl friend in Jamaica being held for ransom. They'd already changed things after the first half million, wanting more.

The rescue mission had left most of them dead.

Now they were looking for him in southern Florida and Joe moves to stop things before they can get worse.

The action is less frantic than a Joe Hunter novel, but no less compelling as Joe is set up for a death fight with the leader of the kidnappers.

Liked this one.

What a tease!

Joe Hunter is solving problems again. This book was too short, but packed with action. I hope this subject is revisited in more detail in another book.
I'm definitely hooked on this author & Joe Hunter.
