. . .Snowblind is a story of four friends on their annual excursion into the Colorado Rockies. They like to call it an elk hunt, but it’s essentially just an excuse to check out of their real lives for a week, catch up with old friends, drink and reminisce about the glory days. This year trouble finds them, when one of the boys slips down a hillside and shatters his leg. Then compounds, during the rescue effort, when scattered flurries build into a full blown blizzard. They soon find themselves lost in whiteout conditions, but are fortunate to stumble upon an abandoned cabin offering some temporary shelter from the storm. However, the storm and the broken leg are the least of their troubles, when something far, far worse lurks out there in the dark.
. . .Shadows race toward him. He hears the clatter of plates and the thunder of footsteps on his way down. Voices everywhere—loud, penetrating—but he doesn’t understand the words.
