Σπέτσες, δεκαετία του '50. Η Παυλίνα μεγαλώνει στο ηλιόλουστο νησί της, έχοντας μόνο τη μάνα της να την αγαπά και να τη φροντίζει. Ο λατρεμένος της πατέρας βρήκε τραγικό θάνατο στη θάλασσα και η απουσία του είναι γι' αυτή βασανιστική. Έφηβη κοπέλα πια, αγαπά βαθιά τον όμορφο άντρα που μεγάλωσαν μαζί σαν ξαδέλφια. Αγνοεί όμως πολλά μυστικά, που, όταν αρχίζουν πια να αποκαλύπτονται, σαρώνουν την οικογένειά της σαν κύμα απρόβλεπτης γαλανής θάλασσας.

Το μυθιστόρημα "Παυλίνα" θίγει το προσωπικό και συγχρόνως οικουμενικό θέμα της εγκατάλειψης, αλλά και της τυχαίας φύσης των συναντήσεων. Φέρνοντας τους ήρωές του αντιμέτωπους με τη δύναμη της ζωής και τις περιπέτειες της μοίρας, οι οποίες μας κυβερνούν πέρα από το καλό και το κακό, ο συγγραφέας συγκλονίζει με την αλήθεια και τη διορατικότητα της αφήγησής του.

About the author

Metin Arditi is a French-speaking Swiss writer of Turkish origin. He left Turkey at the age of seven. After spending eleven years in a Swiss boarding school in Lausanne, he studied at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, where he earned a degree in physics and a postgraduate degree in nuclear engineering. He continued his studies at Stanford Business School, where he got an MBA. He lives in Geneva, where he is very involved in the cultural and artistic life of the city. From 2000 to 2013 he was Chairman of the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande (O.S.R.). He is a member of the Strategic Council of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, where over the years he taught physics (Assistant to Prof. Mercier), economics and management (as lecturer) and creative writing (as Visiting Professor). In 1988, he created the Arditi Foundation which awards fifteen annual prizes to graduates of the University of Geneva and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology. The Arditi Foundation has purchased and offered to the University of Geneva a landmark theater, the Cinema Manhattan, now called Auditorium Fondation Arditi. He is the founder of " The Instruments of Peace Foundation ", which offers musical education to children of Palestine and Israel. He is a member of the Foundation Board of the Music Conservatory of Geneva. He chaired the Building Committee of the Martin Bodmer Museum in Cologny. In December 2012, Metin Arditi was appointed UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador. In June 2014, UNESCO appointed him Special Envoy. In September 2014, he created the Arditi Foundation for Intercultural Dialogue.

Οικογενειακό, ενδιαφέρουσα υπόθεση και πολύ καλή "ξενάγηση" στα ελληνικά μέρη που εξελίσσεται η ιστορία-παρά την ξένη καταγωγή του συγγραφέα. Ξεκίνησε με 3 αστεράκια, τα χάλασε η δομή των κειμένων και της γενικότερης ροής (που σε ορισμένα σημεία δυσκολεύεσαι να βγάλεις) και κατέληξε με 1 αστεράκι για την απογοήτευση του τέλους.

Une histoire de filiation et de famille, en Grèce puis à Genève. Plutôt intéressant.
Et j'aimé lire un roman se déroulant en Grèce à quelques jours d'y partir en vacances.

Uma tragédia grega que segue a vida de uma adolescente de uma ilha grega desde os anos 50 até aos anos 70. Uma historia de amor, segredos, pais e filhos. Como sempre os livros de Metin Arditi deixam-me sempre a pensar na historia muito depois de ter chegado ao fim.

 Βιβλίο συγκινητικό που θα ήταν τέλειο αν η δομή και η ροή της ιστορίας του βιβλίου ήταν διαφορετική δοσμένη.Θίγει το προσωπικό θέμα της εγκατάλειψης φέρνοντας τους ήρωες αντιμέτωπους με την μοίρα και την δύναμη της ψυχής.
