Awakened Gods

Rate this book
Lexi has fulfilled her destiny and now the gods have awakened, but is that a good thing?

Now, Lexi lives in a world that is on a global collapse. The gods are angry that they have been forsaken and are seeking revenge on humanity. The oceans are in turmoil, tornadoes, earthquakes, hurricanes, volcano eruptions and famine are causing global chaos, and the sun is being held hostage in an astrological phenomenal, never-ending solar eclipse by the avenging Helios.

Then, there is the problem of Zeus’ threat. Lexi must choose between giving herself to him or watching the “abominable” angels die by his hand. Not to mention, Hera, Zeus’ wife, is proposing her own jealous-driven proposition to Lexi: stay away from her husband or the angels and everyone dear to her will die. Lexi sees no way out of either predicaments and it puts a strain on her relationship with Cole. Will she lose him either way?

When I first started to read this book I wasn't sure I liked the structure of the chapters, being from different characters POV, but I soon realized it really could not have been written any other way! Well done!! Would recommend this series to anyone.

What an amazing end to the series!!! I loved how this kept you on the edge wondering what would happen and in the end you're not disappointed!!

I enjoyed this whole series immensely, I recently won a paperback copy of Awakened Gods but couldn't wait for it to arrive so I purchased the Kindle version (that should tell you how good it is)!!!!

So will Alexis & Cole have their happy ending or will the Gods win??? What happens to the Angels now the Gods have been awakened? Well read this book and find out, it's definitely worth it :-)

All I have to say is wow, these books are fabulous. I think I bought the first book on someone's deal of a day and was not 100% sold on it, however I instantly fell in love with the characters and the story line. The ending is sad and happy all rolled into one.... I want more so much more especially from Cole and Lexi... I highly suggest these books... like highly!!!

WOW. I am a huge fan of the Lunangelique series and I’ve loved the first two books a lot. But Awakened Gods was absolutely SPECTACULAR and AMAZING. I didn’t think the series could get any better or more awesome, but it definitely did. It was so incredible, I don’t know if I can write anything coherent!

Awakened Gods was an epic finale. Lunangelique was great, Sleeping Gods became much more complex and wonderful, and Awakened Gods was a brilliant, complex story with so many elements and levels of depth. The ending was absolutely brilliant and I wish I could go into details, but I won’t. It was so perfect and brought everything around full circle and was incredible. It takes a really great book to make me feel the emotions I felt upon finishing it, so I’m impressed.

I couldn’t put this book down and I really didn’t know how things would turn out. It was heartbreaking in so many parts and horrifying in others. The characters grew quite a bit and were changed by their circumstances and I felt like I was given so much more insight into who they all were. Awakened Gods was written from the points of view of Lexi, Cole, and Patryck. I enjoyed them all, but Cole is by far my favorite narrator.

The plot was heavily influenced by Greek mythology and other religions and folklore. The first book reminded me of the Fallen series by Lauren Kate mixed with the Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan, but as the series progressed, it surpassed both of those comparisons and became something so good and original, I can’t really compare it to anything. I already recommend this series all the time and I will do so even more now that I know how it ends. Awakened Gods is the icing on an already delicious cake and I cannot praise it enough.

The Lunangelique series became one of my favorite series this year!

Loved this book. Loved this ending to a wonderful series. Lexi and Cole were perfect. Their love was strong and, although it had a couple of rough spots in this book, it never wavered. I was happy to see Patryck kinda, sorta, an itsy bitsy bit redeem himself (or at least let you see he did actually care for Lexi in his own screwed up way). I loved seeing Alex lose control. He was always the methodical, logical twin. It was good to see him take on a leadership role and grow into his own. I was a little disappointed to see how Kaitlyn changed All in all this was a great series and although I'm sad to see it come to an end I really liked the way it did.

Oh my freakin’ wow! This one made my heart hurt. I cried so much during this book and even though it was not very long, it took me days to finish it. I had to sit it aside and compose myself before I could continue. The story continues with Alex and Alexis. The Greek mythology takes center stage. Again, I am amazed at the amount of research Kristin must have put into writing this series. I am very disappointed at Kristin’s announcement- there would be no more in this series. I think she has hit on a good thing and obviously does a wonderful job of it. I hope someday her Greek Muse returns and we may continue with the rest of this incredible story. I sincerely look forward to her next book.

First off I want to say there might be some spoilers on this review......

Kristin Campbell did a great job at writing this trilogy! These books are great! Just like the 1st and 2nd book this one kept me guessing. I think there were times when I yelled OMG! NO WAY! The way she ended the book has me complete speechless right now.

I really do wish that these books would become a t.v. show or several movies, it really is that good!

I Believe this should be given a reason why I have given 1 star. I received this as a Giveaway Winner.

I really didn't get the story, perhaps it's because it't book 3 of a series I couldn't really understand how and why they got where they were. Perhaps when I read books 1 and 2 I will review again.

I received a copy of this book for an honest review.

Okay so this review is going to a bit off of its’ usual layout so try not to be alarmed.

Holy bleep, first of all that ending was a complete mind bleep. I am in such a state of confused bleeped up state I don’t know what’s what. Needless to say readers’ minds will be blown when they read the ending and when they just think about the ending.

Anyway on to the rest of the book:
Lexi has finally completely her destiny and released the Gods from their slumber, only problem? A war is starting between the Gods and humanity. The whole world is in disarray, the Sun is gone hidden behind the moon in a constant eclipse. The oceans are unsafe, crops are dying and Zeus is wreaking havoc on villages for forsaking him.

To top it all off Lexi is having more problems of her own like the fact that now Zeus is after her and that means so is Hera. Battling off Gods wasn’t exactly what Lexi had in mind when she released them from their slumber but now she needs to figure out a way to keep Zeus away, permanently.

While Cole is often missing from Lexi’s life on missions to find Helios but when he as with Lexi they savor every moment together, even though Lexi’s lack of sleep and her keeping secrets about Zeus and his threats are having a strain on their relationship.

Wen Cole figures out what’s going on they both use every resource and contact they have to try and save Lexi from Zeus. When help arrives it arrives a bit too late for Cole for Zeus finds him and hides him in a place no one would look, partially because everyone thinks he’s dead.

After Lexi goes missing everyone goes ballistic and looking into the future they know something goes terribly wrong because Lexi is gone from it.

Like I said this book was a complete mind bleep. While some parts I was like “come the bleep on and tell me what happens!!” I truly loved this story. Lexi was still the strong amazing character she’s always been but in this story she definitely had more of a vulnerability to her that was a nice change up. Cole was still drop dead sexy and Awakened Gods definitely does his justice on exactly why and how he’s such an amazing character. Patryck is in this book a whole lot and while sometimes he was a complete ars face he wasn’t all bad. The POV switches off from Lexi’s POV, to Coles, to Patrycks which I loved because you know how I love differing perspectives in books.

Overall, Kristin definitely did an amazing job with the conclusion of the Lunangelique series. It was definitely nothing like I expected and will leave readers wondering what is real. I fell in love with this series from the first book and I can safely say Awakened Gods was the perfect conclusion.

Oh oh and I totally loved how this book referenced one of my favorite books Pushing the Limits and the story about Echo’s name.

Come by my blog post for the whole series reviews and excerpts for the Lunangelique Book Tour Here is the Direct Link Lunangelique Series Book Tour Blog Post

Wow, I didn't see that ending coming, that’s for sure. I am not sure how I feel about it. I was shocked, but not really disappointed either.

I will try to keep this spoiler free, but I am sure if you had not read the first 2 book, there will be some spoilers for them, just about impossible to write a review on a 3rd book and not have some spoilers for the previous books.

I loved this series for sure. The world that the author creates in modern day is amazing, the different realms and all that. Olympus and the Underworld were described with great detail without over doing it.. I felt like I was there.

I was on the edge of my seat through most of Awakened Gods. So much happens, its intense. And the awful things pour Alexis goes through sure shows how tough she can be.

I love Cole even more in this book. I always was rooting for him anyway, but you learn so much more about him in Awakened Gods. It’s very interesting, and you would never guess it. He is more than we knew in the first 2 books. He is a “special” angel, not like the others, you will find out what I mean when you read the book.

I liked how much Alexis’ twin brother, Alex grew in this book. He really grew up and took control. I liked seeing that.

Overall it’s a great series, and a great ending to it. I hate to see it end though.

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars, just like the previous 2. I am really glad I had waited to read Sleeping Gods after I had read book one, as I would have gone nuts after the ending to Sleeping Gods if I didn't have this book on hand. I would have hated waiting, as it had a cliffhanger and it was nice to just pick up Awakened Gods after I finished.

If you like mythology and angels in modern day setting, with great characters and all the excitement, you will love this series. So check it out.

I was provided a copy of this book from the author for my honest review.

If you hadn't checked out the other books, be sure to do so.

Four out of Five Fangs

I received a copy of this story for an honest review for Paranormal Romance and Authors That Rock!

Awakened Gods, the finale in the Lunangelique trilogy, picks up directly where Sleeping Gods left off. Half God/Half Angel siblings Lexi and Alex have successfully awakened the ancient Greek Gods from the slumber forced on them by Sun God Helios. But as expected there are consequences to their actions. The first is all out war between the Gods of old and the angels of Christianity, as well as the old Gods doling out punishment on humanity for forgetting them.

“Religion. Isn't that what we are taught most wars are fought over? And here are the gods themselves, the founders of religion, starting a war in their own names. This isn’t just about revenge on Helios. This is about being forsaken.”

The second and much more surprising consequence is Zeus staking claim to Lexi. The king of the Gods will do anything for a night with her, including eliminating Cole and inciting the wrath of his wife Hera. As Lexi and Cole struggle to survive the war and to escape Zeus, the story gets darker and more brutal than I would typically expect for a YA read. That said the darkness and brutality fit the story and the love between Lexi and Cole make it bearable.

“Gods, I love this woman. Her fire, her energy, her bravery, her ability to take any situation at ease, even though I know inside she’s just as scared as any other.”

I don’t know what I expected when I started the Lunangelique trilogy but when I finished Awakened Gods I confess I was pleasantly surprised by the overall quality and vibrancy of all three books. Author Kristin R. Campbell creates a solid hero and heroine in Cole and Lexi, I felt a connection to them in the first book and it only grew as the trilogy progressed.

Campbell also succeeds in the level of detail in Awakened Gods pertaining to all of the gods, demi-gods and legends that Lexi and Cole encounter in their journey. By including their individual foibles she really heightened the sense of urgency and danger facing the pair. If you’re a fan of Greek mythology you know many tales about the actions of the Gods are truly frightening and usually don’t end well for the humans involved. Campbell respects the legends and doesn’t water down their power or insanity.

Overall Awakened Gods was a fantastic end to the Lunangelique trilogy. Lexi and Cole get their happy-ending with a twist that I did not see coming. I recommend checking out all three books and I will definitely be keeping an eye for other works by this author.

The Lunangelique Series is a magically exquisite and unbelievably touching treasure that is full of all of the adventure, intrigue, and romance that anyone could ever want. This is a wonderful journey that stretched my imagination and heart to the breaking point, and I wouldn’t have traded it for anything. The storyline is so fresh and unique and the plot is executed so well that you will be begging for more before the end. You will not soon forget this brilliant tale, and you will be back to find out what Kristin R Campbell creates next.

Lexi has become one of my favorite characters in any story. I love her heart, her determination, and her will to accomplish what she has been tasked with. She doesn’t back down no matter how hard a task is or how heartbreaking it is. Watching her and Cole fight to keep each other safe and together was emotionally draining and yet curiously encouraging. No matter the struggles they faced, their hearts were always true to each other and their love while brutally tested proved to be the true and lasting kind. Their love and devotion is truly inspirational.

One of my loves in this life is mythology. I can’t seem to get enough of it, so I was immediately drawn in by its intriguing use of mythology in combination with other paranormal characters. I like to think outside the box when it comes to the books I read, so I was fascinated by what this story had to offer. I was anything but disappointed, and I loved every minute of this thrilling ride.

The spontaneity and ingenuity of this amazing story will pull you in and keep you reading until the end. I have to say that I loved the ending. It’s not what you would typically think of, and that’s why I was captivated by this wonderful tale. This book gives you what you least expect while it paints you a masterpiece that you will cherish for a very long time.

Kristin R Campbell has officially converted me into one of her biggest fans. Her voice, her touch, and her heart will not leave you unchanged. She will pull at and capture your heart while she offers up a truly stunning and absolutely unforgettable journey of destiny, hope, and love. This is one series not to be missed!

The gods are awakened and is this a good thing? Not sure. Zeus is being Zeus and making Lexi and Cole's life miserable. Edmund is demanding, Alex is with Io why? No idea. I want to not like him for that but dangit I can't. he is just too sweet and nice. Always protective and trying to do the right thing. Patryck is angry and wants to destroy Cole and get Lexi back. Bad bad Patryck. Selene tries to save them all. Not going well is it Selene.

What makes this book interesting is the love of Lexi and Cole and Cole's strength. Erebos is a new character to pop up and that adds to the confusion because he can stop Zeus but before he will Helios must be found. Good luck with that. Meantime Patryck is messing with Lexi and frustrating her. Helios is trying to get Lexi and Cole is trying to protect Lexi while fighting for the Gods. Why the gods decide to through a temper tantrum I don't know. I mean that is wrong on all levels. Don't hurt people because you feel slighted. That does not put you on their christmas card list you know what I mean. You win more flies with honey than you do flypaper Zeus.

The action happens when Patryck messes with Cole and Lexi and Lexi gets angry at Cole. He takes off and oopsy Zeus takes him. Patryck helped orchestrate this. Again bad Patryck bad. Than Lexi goes missing and all hell breaks loose.

Cole, though, bless his wonderful Angel heart suffers but never gives up. He takes a beating and has to deal with Hades as well. All in the name of love. but again never ever gives up. Lexi on the other hand unravels. Until she sees Cole in her dreams. You go Cole. Am I loving Cole. Yesiree bobbydoo.

Meantime everyone knows something really bad and are trying to prevent it from occurring. The ending is a shocker though. Not expecting that but I am curious to see what will happen. Will Cole and Lexi live in peace? What about Alex? And will he and his sister be reunited?

A great last book that answers questions, has adventure and intrigue, shows love conquers all and that HEA's are possible.

This is an overall series review - Overall Rating: 5 Stars!!!

I got this book from the author, free of cost, in exchange of an honest review from my side.

Firstly I would like to thank the author and the tour organizers for giving me this opportunity of reading and reviewing this series.

Whoa!!! I just couldn't believed that I finished all the 3 books in only 2 days!!! It's freaking "Super-Entertaining" man!!!

I read the books back to back so I'm sharing an overall experience with you guys and as I don't like spoilers so I wouldn't be giving any in here.

I loved the characters very much. They are well developed and I didn't find out any trouble with the world building and I would like to say that it was a damn good world and I just lost myself in it and didn't wanted this series to end.

The adventure that the readers went through is remarkable and the suspense was truly eerie but it made the read much more exciting. The action part is super-cool and I enjoyed it very much.

Over all I loved this series very much and I would definitely recommend it to ya all and I sure that you guys will love it just like I did. Enjoy reading!!!

This book was really good for most of the book, kept me glued to the kindle. There were a few parts that were slow.
I thought this would be the best of the three but it was not.
Alex definitely grew up in this book, I liked seeing this side of him. Even if we still didn't see much of him. I thought we would see more of Lexi and Alex's birth parents after book 2, but not the case. Well until the end, then we do.
Oh, the ending! OMG WTH. I am very confused at the end, I don't know what happened. It wasn't a cliffhanger, but it wasn't closure either. I want to know what happened, no there is no other book-no preview or mention of book 4.
Lexi, while normally very strong was very vulnerable this time around. She had to fight against Zeus and Hera. Not to mention being apart from Cole (again) and not the happy reunion she thought she would have with her birth parents.
I am just at a loss. But I still give it 4 stars for the story itself.

The first word that comes to mind in reading this is WOW. All kinds of different gods in one book is awesome. Love the way Kristin went with Zeus in the story can we say what an jerk he is. Also just love how Lexi didn't fall for any of his tricks. Then you have Cole and what he had to go through with Zeus all because he was in love with Lexi and that is who Lexi wanted to be with. Love that Alex was coming more into an leader. Oh then you have the ending lets just say I was like what in the world just happen it was a good ending but at the same time wish it would have been different. I'm hoping one day Kristin will decide to do a spin off to it that would be awesome. Love this book and love Kristin's writing can't wait to see what comes up with next.

This is probably one of my favorite series. So different from many other paranormals that I have read. I loved it from the beginning, but nothing was sweeter or stole my heart more than the scene where Lexi was singing "Where Is My Mind?" to herself and humming to Cole...sigh I think I read all three books in less than 3 days, yes I was that into it. Very intense book...
