What a FANTASTIC read this little book was! I took it off the shelf randomly to skim the first few pages and ended up awake all night reading it cover to cover. This is such a perfect example of how scientific non-fiction in no way has to be dry and boring.

This book perfectly balances out the drama of story-telling with educating. I absorbed so much information and never once felt like I was reading a textbook. It truly comes off as a novel, complete with beautiful, exciting, and soul-moving writing that does not exclude the reader by gate-keeping info through complicated 'industry-in' language. Someone with no expierence with reptiles would easily love this book.

An absolute must read for herpers and anyone interested in conservation though. What this team did for these animals is nothing short of heroic, and I hope to be able to support them one day!
