ENGLISH: This review refers to the work "Summertime," which is not listed in Goodreads, so I put my review here, although this edition contains two additional plays by Ugo Betti.
This is the second time I've watched this play, in the Estudio-1 archive. I first watched it over half a century ago.
In a summer-town, where people go on vacation, a young girl and a young man who have known each other since they were children come to spend the summer. The girl is in love with the young man, but he doesn't notice. The girl and her aunt conspire to catch him, but his aunt wants to get him away as soon as possible.
Unpretentious comedy, a bit silly, especially the ending.
"The Queen and the Rebels" - A little melodramatic but enjoyable "The Burnt Flower-Bed" - I love this title, so evocative. This was a nice blend of family and political drama. Something about it reminded me of Ibsen. "Summertime" - This was a comedy that was about half funny. It did keep me guessing though which is a likable quality in a play.
