Fairy bargains should have been familiar for Sanja by now. But even with Eherea’s best interests at heart, she can hardly come to terms with the deal she struck with the Crow King. Leaving her mate behind was supposed to protect him, but the Crow King’s cruelty knows no bounds.
With every new day Sanja spends at the Crow palace, she discovers how dark a place her new home truly is. Among the Crows, malice and brutality thrive, and Sanja soon finds herself face to face with the hardest decision of her Refuse the Crow King and risk retaliation by the ancient magic of fairy bargains, or endure to save her family and her people.
If they don't figure out a way to defeat the Crow King's new army, even her sacrifice will not be enough to save them.
The Ever Mage is book four in The Quarter Mage and concludes Angelina J. Steffort’s award-winning romantic fantasy series.

This book put me through the email ringer as the characters struggled through journeys of self-sacrifice, loss, and redemption. Oh and absolute terror at the hands of the book’s villains.
Rogue and Sanja’s journey was sweet, but emotionally fraught for much of the book. I wish we had gotten more of Tori and Cleo. They truly make me smile. I was also happy to see one character change and redeem themselves by the end.
I love that the story over all focus on the power of hope and resiliency. This book will bring up every emotion from the bittersweet moments to fear for the characters to finally that smile at the end for the happy ending.
You know that you are in a great story when you can feel all the emotions that the characters feel. When you find yourself on the edge of your seat and get upset that you have to stop reading because you need rest, this tells you that you are reading a great story. What more can I say about Sanja and Rogue? I love them as a couple. I also love the secondary characters. The twists, the turns, and the intrigue keep me fully engaged in The Ever Mage. I would wake up and want to immediately start reading this book. It's good. The whole series is good, and Steffort knows how to build the intensity in her stories to keep us readers coming back. This was the final book in the Quater Mage series, and it doesn't disappoint. Please put this series in audiobook format because these characters deserve to come alive through the voice of a good narrator.
“The Ever Mage” is the fantastic conclusion to Angelina J. Steffort’s The Quarter Mage series, and I thought it was complete and utter perfection. This book had so much angst, but it was beautifully written in a heart wrenching kind of way. This book was also very intense, and there were a lot of moments where I was really concerned for my favorite characters. Rogue and Sanja’s relationship is really put to the test in this one, and after reading certain scenes about them, I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. This book was a total tear jerker, but the ending made everything worth it. I highly recommend!!!
What an amazing conclusion for such a well-written and epic series!
I have to admit i am not always a fan of the 1st person narration, and I don't tend to enjoy it in books. But the beautiful writing in this series totally made me forget about it. I think this has been one of the most beautiful books, with such an amazing use of words to build complex emotions. By far, this was the best book in the series, and I found it really nice how each book just seemed to slowly get better than the previous in this series. The world-building and the detailed description of the magic system, the places, and the mechanism of the world were greatly appreciated even if a bit confusing at times. I would have still liked to learn more about the mate magic and what does this make Sanja in the end.
The characters are absolutely amazing. The attention to detail was so carefully used when writing these characters. None of them are static or dominated by a single trait, not even the side characters. Through the 4 books of this series, we follow characters that are constantly evolving, constantly fighting inner thoughts shown in well-placed monologues. The FMC, Sanja, is such a relatable character. She evolved constantly through the 4 books and still conserves her will to protect those she cares about. She becomes powerful, she overcomes her fears, and comes out victorious in the end. She doesn't become powerful suddenly or in a short period of time, which might make her unnatural, but she rather slowly gains her power and becomes worthy of her title of Queen os Askarea Recienne Oilvier Gustine Univér Emestradassus de Pauvre, or our ROGUE for short, what a great male character. I find the idea of not fully introducing him to us in the first book so smart. We started by meeting a mysterious cruel prince who, for sure, peaked our interest despite the presence of Tristan, and we ended up with The King of Askarea whose heart loves so deeply and his intentions so pure, willing to sacrifice himself at all times for his people. Astorian, Clip, Dimar, and Zelia (and even Tristan, who manages to have his redeption arc in the very last pages of the book) are such great side characters. I was happy to see the idea of a true found family, and they managed to spice the action and bring humour to the book on more than one occasion. I really liked the fact that they weren't simply lost in the background, but we also get to see their story as well.
The action was simply amazing; so well written, the pace was great for a book, nothing like it was dragged or rather rushed. I am weak for a good fighting/war scene, and this book totally offered one of the best and detailed war scenes i've read in a while. I was so satisfied with how we could feel yourself being transported on the battlefield instead of having situations easily solved. The powerful characters struggle, and nothing gets immediately solved, which makes the story feel way more real. However, i found myself feeling like the book was still maybe 30 pages too short and like the ending was a bit rushed. The ending felt a bit unsatisfactory as i was expecting to see a bit more details of the world after the hardships they faced. Also, I found some of the ideas from the previous books not even being addressed in the ending, despite my expectations (like the castle on the border for example, or what happened further with Dimar and Zelia). I feel like an epilogue would have probably solved all these small issues.
For those interested, the spice scenes do not disappoint and, from my opinion, they are surely perfectly placed in the book and they have the right level of spiciness to go with the rest of the action. The small banters between the MMC and FMC that constantly end up with them being affected greatly by their 'mating bond'? Purely delicious.
I will conclude with saying that this is absolutely an amazing series that will surely not get your bored. I will definitely recommend it in the future, and it surely managed to occupy a position in my top favourite series of this year. Congratulations for such a great series, Angelina J. Steffort!

This book picks up where the Last one left off. Sanja is alone in the Crow Palace, a prisoner in the dungeon after making a deal with the Crow King, Taking Clio's place as his promised bride has managed to save the lives of her mate, King Recienne (aka Rogue), as well as his sister, Clio, and her mate, Tori, though it has left her to suffer and eventually be killed. It is well known that few Crow Brides manage to survive for more than a year, and most last far less than that. This book starts out with your heart aching for them, and it grows from there.
I can’t tell you how often this book had my heart aching for the characters and multiple times had me nearly in tears. Yes, there are happy moments as well, but this book definitely takes you through the entire range of human (and fae) emotions, both the happy ones and the dark ones. Honestly, it was the perfect conclusion to an enthralling series. I absolutely loved it.
This book kept me on the edge of my seat much of the time. Sometimes in a hopeful way, and other times despairing that the characters that I have come to love will be able to find their happy ending, as much as I was praying that they would. (And I can't tell you if they do or not, as that will spoil the ending for you, and you really will want to experience it for yourself.) There are certainly a lot of twists and turns, as well as unexpected happenings along the way, even though looking back, there were hints of what was coming from the very beginning of the series.
And in case you are wondering, yes, I feel this book well deserves a 5-star review. If you haven’t read the previous books in this series, I strongly recommend going back & reading them first as you will have missed so much that if you don’t, this book might not make as much sense to you.. I do need to warn you that there are some sexual scenes in the book. (How can there not be when you are dealing with newly-mated fairies?) But while somewhat intense, are not so overly graphic as to warrant concern save for very young readers. (If you are old enough for some of the darker themes in this series, then you are likely old enough for the sex scenes, especially if you have read the previous books.) I also need to warn you that there are some scenes involving torture as well.
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading fantasy novels that take you on an emotional rollercoaster, if you enjoy stories involving magic and romance, trust and betrayal, and if you have been reading the previous books in the series, then you really don’t want to miss this one. It’s that good. I honestly didn’t want to put it down to sleep at night. It was definitely the perfect ending to this series.
This author tosses my emotions around without any regard. My stomach was clenching and unclenching, my intestines writhing like a pit of snakes, my jaw so tight, I swear I thought I'd need a crowbar to pry it open. When Sanja, when Rogue, when Tristan, when Sanja, when...when...see? I'm a blubbering mess! I was left scrounging around desperately trying to pick up the shattered pieces of my heart, whilst desperately looking for superglue to patch me up!
Oh. My. Word! The first time I met Recienne, I knew there was more to him and I fell in love with his character, cruelty and all. As the series progressed, this sentiment solidified, his other side emerged and now, well, good golly, I completely and utterly fall apart whenever he appears! What a character! What a hunk! What a beautifully complex guy! What a....geez, EVERYTHING that I want in a guy! And Sanja agrees, the depth of emotions these two have, the all encompassing love they feel for each other, is so sigh worthy, so beautifully and vividly portrayed. But that's Angelina's super power, her characters didn't just come to life, they engulph me, they permeate within me, they burrow their way into me, grab hold of me and become part of me. Not all mind you, there are some characters that I would decimate with glee, Moyen taking priority over all others! It's a rare author who can paint black and white, and all the colours between with such flair, the entire colour spectrum almost blinds me in it's magnificence!
To call this book and series "an exciting read" doesn't even touch the fringes of it's brilliance. The drama! Oh the drama! Pulse racing! The battle went beyond heart in throat, I could barely swallow, following the fighting with eyes as wide as saucers. And even though Tristan redeems himself, finally, I can never forgive his deeds, his betrayal and his burning need for power at any cost. He left a foul taste in my mouth that no amount of mouthwash can eradicate. So too did Carius, the evil he relished in made me shudder.
There couldn't have been a happier ending for this intensely emotional and dramatic series than this. If I say I heaved a sigh of relief and was engulfed by a burst of sheer bliss from my heart, it would pale in comparison to the utter joy this book and series has brought me. After suffering through all the anguish together with the outstanding characters of Sanja, Rogue, Clio and Tori, I wanted to kiss the author for allowing to immerse myself in a world that drenched me with every emotion, even ones I had no clue existed! Rich, exciting, gut wrenching, beautiful, spectacular! OMG this series takes a gold medal amongst the very best!
In the highly anticipated conclusion to the Quarter Mage series, The Ever Mage brings about the most climactic peaks of the series. We see the struggles of Sanja and Rogue hit the highest points and the lowest, in one fell swoop and at moments, the question of is whats best for one, whats best for the other? Throughout this whole book I couldn't put it down as I thought I would just pause at the end of a chapter for sleep (who needs sleep when you are reading the last book in a series????) But the transitions and ability to see into both Rogue and Sanjas POV gave us readers a special treat into the true breadth and depth of the mating bond on both sides. The ecstasy and excruciating pain pulls readers emotions around like a game of tug-o-war. Where some alternating POV books make it difficult to keep track of the plot, this story is easily woven together to keep the reader flowing through events as if you are in one POV the whole time, and no loss of time or place during the transitions. The plot in this finale brought all the characters face-to-face with the Crow King and how to end all bargains and deals that had been made amongst all parties. The masterful ways that Steffort crafts the characters thoughts and acts to get everything resolved and ending in a pleasing manner for all characters is impressive as there were so many lines to tie up within this capstone novel. I would be lying if I didnt wish for an additional epilogue to be released with a couple more future jumps (who doesn't love glimpses into the future for what happens with the favorite characters? Did they marry? Did they have kids? Were they good rulers? Who knows?) The world of Eherea seems to have so many stories left to tell, it would be a shame for no more to be ever explored (cough cough, I hope others see and read this :) ) By the end, I finished reading with a sigh of contentment knowing that while the story ends, the characters forever live on and can always go on many more adventures in my mind, or can always be revisited in these pages. This is definitely a series to read all the way through and go back and read a couple times again as it never gets old and new things are learned every time its read again.
◦ I've received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review ◦
⮞ 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 ⮜ I've enjoyed all the characters in the story, minus the villains of course, they were despicable and I'm happy they got what they deserved. As much as I hated Tristan on the previous book, I kind of liked he redeemed himself and was for once selfless, did I thought he deserved a better ending? No. I think he messed around and eventually found out, but I did enjoyed the fact he did the right thing for Sanja in the end. I've loved the growth each character had, and how unique they were. I do hope in the future we will be getting a spin-off from Tori & Clio's pov because I need more of them!
⮞ 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝-𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 ⮜ I wasn't ready for the prim-plan of the crow's lair. I got the creeps only from the descriptions, but it definitely added to that somber feeling from the story and made you understand better how different the crows and the normal fairies were.
⮞ 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞𝐝/𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞𝐝 ⮜ I loved the romantic scenes between Sanja and Rogue, I didn't found them to be overly smutty but they were erotic, sensual and you could see how their love was just pouring through pages. Tori and Clio I felt I was teased for more than half of the book about them getting or not together and I think we all deserve a spin-off of their story because we need to get to see them together, together. I enjoyed the way the story developed and also ended, I felt everything just fell in place and concluded this beautiful series.
⮞ 𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐞/TW ⮜ There is spice in the story, It is obviously an adult fantasy story so the romance isn't clean but I also wouldn't categorize it to 5 peppers, perhaps round 4 and a half or so. There are lots of fighting scenes that result in blood, abuse etc. The story didn't trigger me.
What I liked: The plot moved really quickly but not in a way that was too fast to keep up with, the strength of the characters and how you always feel like you are in the story. What I didn't like as much: Moyen, Carius and I did wish the battle went on a bit longer, it felt just a little lacklustre. Tropes: High fantasy, enemies to lovers, found family and fated mates. Favourite characters were Sanja and Rogue. Rogue being the favourite of the book, especially during a certain part of the book. It was funny seeing him angry again and we got a glimpse of more of his power. Notable scenes: Most scenes with Moyen, as much as I didn't like her, I felt like she had potential to be a good person. Some certain characters deaths. The battle. Clio and Tori at the end of the book. The interesting part of the bride's of Carius, wasn't expecting that. I felt happy, sad, angry, relieved, tense and annoyed. I almost cried at the end of the book. A little sad that the series is now over. But onto the next one, can't wait to see what Angelina does next! What a great birthday present to myself this book was. Storyline was amazing, Angelina has a way of sucking you into the storyline and you're unable to stop. Worldbuilding was great and very much found family vibes. Rogue and Sanja are one of the best characters and had lots of fantastic scenes, good to see them grow as a couple.
I love Tori so much and I hope we get a separate book of him. Clio is also amazing and can't wait to see more, hopefully also in a separate book. Carius is an interesting character, he was a great villain. I hope we get some art to see what he looks like so I can visualise him better.
Tristan I still don't like but I'm glad he kinda redeemed himself.
The end is nigh and full of stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ and fully deserved 😉 Sanja has gone through the wringer, and will again until she comes out the other side, but until then the tale is a rollercoaster of emotions, for each and everyone, us readers included… and I love every single second of it 😊 The story has taken us for a wonderful ride, though fun, despair, rage, tears of joy and sadness, enemies to both endure and fight, evil to destroy, new friends and unexpected allies, lessons to learn and family to protect… everything you would ever want in a good fantasy book.
“The Ever Mage” starts right where “The Never Mage” (Book 3) left and accelerate from there allowing only for occasional breaks short enough to allow the reader to take a breath and….. I will tell you nothing more about it… because I’m sure you won’t appreciate missing discovering even the slightest bit by yourself. Nor will I tell you that this book is terrific, you all already know that, but I’ll let you in a personal suspicion…Angelina J. Steffort might be Fae, this much insight doesn’t seem human 😉
“The Ever Mage” is the final book in the outstanding “The Quarter Mage” Tetralogy by Angelina J. Steffort, who has an uncanny gift for storytelling and description, bringing effortlessly to life a wide variety of multidimensional characters - Fae and humans alike - all with their own strengths and flaws, in a fast-paced, nicely flowing highly enjoyable story, with incredible twists and turns, solid good plots and absolute wonderful characters. Character building is at the core of every Steffort book, she infuses her characters with a life of their own, and we follow them willingly every step of the way.
Beginning this book picked up where the 3rd left off. Sanja sacrificed herself to the Crow King to save Rogue, Clio and Tori. While Sanja thinks she has done a good thing, the masochistic Crow King happily informs her that while he tortures her, her mate is tortured also. But all is not lost, as an old friend turns up with some seriously needed help and she is able to escape and return to her mate until it is time for her to fulfill her bargain. It was good to see Tristan feeling remorse for his prior actions and attitude
While trying desperately to find a solution to this Crow problem, she decides the only way is to break her bond( oh, no, this is never a good decision). So, when she requests a break of the bond from the Guardians, they deny her ( thank goodness!), and give her a little prophecy instead. Now everyone is super mad at her for being a coward! When the time comes to fulfill her bargain and marry the Crow King, Sanja is tortured and war breaks out with lots of killing via magic and sword, and what no one knew about, the Crow King had a secret weapon!
So, a lot of this book was building up to the war and battle. Training, and researching, trying to find a weakness that they could exploit against the Crows! Tristan really came through in the end in an unexpected way and the ending was good. I really liked this book very much. I found this series to be very exciting and a story that kept me up till early morning hours because I didn’t want to put it down! If I could give it 10 stars, I certainly would!

Knowing the deal Sanja made with the Crow King has spared the lives of those she loves for only a moment, she works tirelessly to find a way to get out of the marriage she never wanted to a fae she's sure will be her end. However, as each day goes by, and as the Crow King weaves his magic around her, she finds it more difficult to keep herself from falling for his deceit, especially as the magic of his realm threatens to take over her mind.
Yet, she may find some solace in the small moments Rogue is able to get through to her and the possibility of help. When war looms and the Crow King threatens the rest of the world, Sanja must rely on her determination and strength to pass the tests laid before her and escape the inescapable.
This author is one of my favorite epic fantasy authors, and though I am heartbroken to leave her characters with each series she finishes, I'm always excitedly looking forward to the next adventure she'll take me on. This was a vividly amazing journey with Sanja and Rogue, from their first meeting to the moment they discover a love for the ages and then to the danger that threatens to tear them apart. I can't imagine what the next series will be about, but I am more than here for it.
A captivating conclusion to another fantastic series!
I couldn't be more excited about this book by Angelina J Steffort, which wraps up yet another excellent series. This book had me completely captivated from start to finish and provided the perfect finale to an enthralling adventure.
The story picks up flawlessly right where it left off in The Never Mage, and I was immediately drawn back into the amazing world crafted by Angelina. I found myself eagerly turning the pages, anticipating the fate of our favourite characters.
Sanja, the brave and resilient character, has grown and developed remarkably throughout the series. Her unwavering determination and strength shine through, even as she tackles the challenges that come with being a prisoner of the enigmatic Crow fairy King. Her unbreakable mate bond fortifies her through her trials and tribulations, and her journey is truly inspiring.
Overall, The Ever Mage a is a page-turner and a fantastic finale to another great series. I highly recommend Angelina J Steffort's books to anyone who loves immersing themselves in captivating worlds and engaging characters
Once more Angelina finish a book serie spectacularly!!! In this book we see Sanja saving herself again and again. I like that she is not some princess in distress always waiting for the prince charming. Sho goes to the fight and take risks. Some times stupid risks. She is a character that evolved a lot since the first book, and even her knowledged this during the book. In the fist one she was innocent, and in this one she really knows her importance for everyone.
Rougue is also a character that stole my heart in each action and decision that he made throughout the book. The interesting about him is that he is not perfect. He has so many faults and insecurities that make the reader cheer for him. His love for Sanja is so big that he is again and again trying to do the best for her, but he does not lock her in a tower, he let her participate in everything together.
About Tristan, he was finally important in the story. I was getting annoyed with him. He had the end that he deserved.
The reading was very fluid. Once you are siting and reading you do not want to stop.
I highly recommend to read this book.

I was worried about how so much would get wrapped up and concluded with this final book. I felt like there was so much left to say and unravel. I was hoping for a long series like Shattered Kingdom but,… she did it. We experience so much love and turmoil in this series but this book especially. When we are hanging on the edge of our seats thinking, “There is no way around this.”, Angelina comes through and finds the way. She executed this book flawlessly and left no stone unturned (or unmelted). We experience some loss in this book but it’s a beautiful redemption for a character that I loved early on. As far as fated mates go, this is by FAR one of the BEST fated mates stories I have ever read. Rogue is everything that a person could want. He is dark, brooding, caring, loving and willing to do anything to help Sanja succeed. Even die for her with a smile on his face. I am completely captivated by this story and im unsure what to do with my life now except for maybe read this series again.
Where do I even start? I'm madly in love with Sanja, she is the perfect example of a strong female heroine. And no, I don't mean like, leveling battlefields and is perfect in every way. She is flawed. She has powers, but still hasn't mastered them by the end of the 4 book series. Her character has epic development. She's loyal to a fault, and puts everybody before herself. I also thoroughly enjoyed Rogue, Clio, and Tori. I also really liked Carius, the bastard he is. And I always loved Tristan, I knew she would run into him when she went to the Crows, and I knew we'd lose him by the end. Those two were so good together, and I'm still bummed he chose power over her, but I also liked her with Rogue. So yah. This was a great conclusion to the series. There was a few things I would have done differently, but I loved this series so much. It desperately needs to be a TV show where NO DETAIL IS SPARED. EVERYTHING IN THE BOOK. That's why a TV show would be perfect. I'd throw myself across the world to audition for Sanja, rofl. Love it. Definitely in my top books!!

Unfortunately I find this a disappointing conclusion of the series. There has been hardly any explanation in the first three books of the how and why things are happening and to now just cram all of it in a few final chapters of the last book is just not convincing. Also there was far too much wallowing in self pity by the main character with seemingly unending repeats of ‘it is all my fault’, ‘ I will not live long enough’ and ‘there is nothing I can do’ to befit a strong MC. And while finding nothing remotely looking like a solution in almost four books, one of the last chapters suddenly disclosed the sought after solution stumbled upon by the heroine by accident which nobody figured out before. Right…. And finally, I think the writing can be stronger than rehashing the same scènes three times over on multiple occasions. I really looked forward to the final book as I enjoyed the first three. But sadly it did not even remotely meet my expectations.
I am a mess after finishing this. The author has outdone herself with this series. So many great characters, both good & evil. The world building was simply amazing. This was one that I didn’t want to put down & am now sad it's over. Sanja was a true hero. Always putting others efore herself and Rogue was a perfect mate foe her. I am not going to say much so I don't spoil it for others. The battle with the crows was bound to happen. Now that Moyen was working for the crow king, Sanja and the others had to watch their backs. As the crow king tried to claim his bride tempers flared and made for an amazing finish to this series. This has become one of my all time favorites. Thank you to the author for a truly amazing series.
Sanja has a long road ahead of her as she stays in the Crowe Kings 'service'. Forced to choose between her soul mate and her own safety, she chooses to protect him. But she's now realizing just how brutal his home truly is and how much she'll question her choice.
This was an exciting addition to Sanja's story and getting to see the Crowe Kings brutality in nearly full swing (I'm sure he could be much worse if pushed). The author did a great job in showing the struggle that Sanja faced with trying to endure the torture of the fae.
I will say that there were a few places where the author went into too much detail and it over shadowed the fantastic story the author gave us.
Trying times in the darkest hour with seemingly impossible choices.
A heart-pounding, breath-holding, edge-of-your-seat, swoon-worthy, magic-induced fantasy read that took me on an emotionally twisted journey in this concluding book.
Well-developed characters who must grow and change. Detailed world building to paint a picture while reading. Strong plotline to keep me invested in the storyline. I have loved the journey for each of the characters. They've lived, changed, and loved. Through it all redemption can be found.
I have loved this series since book one where we first met our incredible characters and I have travelled with them on treacherous adventures, felt their suffering and also their joys and this last book simply blew me away. Sanja, Rogue, Tori and Clio must find a way to outsmart the crow king and unite the fae to save both humanity and the supernatural. Twists and turns, darkness and light, this was darker then the other books and at times I found myself stunned and gripping the edge of my seat. Exciting, thrilling, it’s been an amazing ride topped with outstanding world building and a cast of characters that have become family. It’s a magical, epic series that I cannot recommend enough!
Angelina has a great gift for getting into her characters' heads. And after the ending of the last book, it was clear that this fourth book was going to be a doozy. She pulls all of the major loose threads together into a satisfying and nail-biting finale. Be prepared to go through a whole range of emotions when reading this book, and I would strongly suggest having some tissues handy just in case.
I will miss these characters dearly, and I hope that she returns to them at some point (maybe a spin-off featuring Tori's and Cleo's romantic origins?).
CW: torture, deaths, strong language in portions, and sexual scenes
This last book was full steam ahead into a dramatic ending! The final climactic segment lasted for many chapters, all filled with excitement and ups and downs, new problems and challenges to solve, heart-wrenching emotions, and lots of feelings. Everything was tied up so neatly, and the ending was sweet. I enjoyed the darkness in this book, the harsh realities of the bargains made, and how they will impact the characters. I think there was a lot of emotional depth to the bonds and the relationships between everyone, and they were really put to the test. I think it made for strong, stellar ending to a fantastic fantasy series. Highly recommend!!
The Ever Mage is the 4th book in the Quarter Mage Series. This story picks up where the series left off and I was not ready for this ending. This series has been so amazing. What a journey! I was not ready to let this one go. I want to stay in this world forever. This is a story that you will not be able to put down and once you crack this series open, you are done for. Instantly you are entranced into this world, completely in love with these characters, and forever wanting more after it is all over.
These covers are stunning, the writing is superb, and this story is just stunning. I cannot recommend this series enough. Deserves way more than 5 stars.
Whew! This conclusion to the Quarter Mage series did not disappoint. So much action, danger, steam, and tension! As Ret Relah approaches, Sanja and Receienne are clinging to their last moments together, before Sanja has to fulfill her bargain to become the bride of the Crow King. There is the constant struggle with duty versus what the heart wants, stacked up against the unavoidable forward march of time. This entire series was a joy to read. Well written, well edited, and thoroughly entertaining!
This is the last installment to the Quarter Mage series, it’s been a ride I’ll tell you. Sanja has been through a lot, and as much as I love angst, I’m very happy to see what she deserves in the end.
Ever Mage starts off where we left off, in the crow palace. The crow king is malicious as ever, haunting her every move. Her mind is tormented as she makes her way back to Rouge. But the catch is, she cannot, she is in a bind with the king. She is to be his bride.
Eventually she makes her way back to him shortly, with a catch, has to do unspeakable things that will make you question her thoughts a bit. With the war raging on, how will she find the happiness she is due? Will she live to see that happiness, or will she drown in her fate? Find out for yourself.
This is my favorite series by her this far, I love her talent and the way she world builds, I cannot wait for more adventures she creates.
Angelina has a way with words, and she’s come a long with how beautiful this series has become, this book is packed with secrets, betrayal and love. Will it be the ending you want though? Stay tuned.
Angelina J. Steffort really blew me away in her installment of Sanja’s story. The cliffhanger from The Never Mage left me dying to get my hands on The Ever Mage and it did not disappoint.
Will Sanja escape the Crow King and save the human and fairy realms or will she be trapped for the remainder of her human life? Will Rogue save her or is he left powerless by the bargain?
The twists and turns in this final book left me on the edge of my seat the entire story.
a perfect ending to a 4 book series, i loved the fact that they had to fight to obtain their happy ever after. with the plot a couple of time i was getting a bit upset that sanja was not sharp and smart like in the other books, and recienne was to over written with emotions, but it had its explanation,i found it refreshing that what i had thought was the solution wasnt explored, so it was fun to not be right about certain things in the plot
Culmination of a good storyline, and engaging characters. I struggled a bit with the character growth of Sanja, it felt like she was becoming a total bada**, however the story didn't quite lead that way and I kept screaming at some of the obvious solutions that were presented previously through the story, and then weren't even used to complete the storyline, writer just made something else up. Still enjoyed the book and series, a bunch!
