This is a great book. Simply written, straight to the point and with easy assignments to make you get more confortable with your new gear. The Nikon D3200 is an amazing piece of equipment, but you will be missing a lot using it as a point and shoot camera.

This book will not teach you all about photography, but will teach you how to take amazing pictures with your new camera, and point you in the right direction to became a proficient amateur.

I found it more way more useful than the "For Dummies" series, for half the price. Read it, practice with your camera, then came back here and search for books like "Understanding Exposure" and take the next step.

More than a basic photography how to book. Being for my camera, I learned much about my camera while actually using it while reading the book. The author uses his experience with the camera, and years of taking photos to help you take better photos with each try. I haven’t completed every assignment, but I plan to go back and do them as I can.
