About the author

At age 36, Bob George came to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Two years later he left his successful business to become involved in full time ministry. With the emphasis on "full-time," Bob began to experience the heartache of losing his first love, Jesus Christ. His resulting search for truth led Bob to the love and acceptance of God that was there all along.

Years of ministry, in both personal and group settings, fostered in Bob's heart a passion to communicate the love and grace of God to hurting people throughout the nation and the world. Thus, in 1977, Bob George founded Dallas-based People to People Ministries.

For many years, Bob hosted People to People, a daily radio broadcast. Really enjoyed reading this book because it is so completely grace oriented (vs. law). Very well written and readable.

Embracing God's unconditional love for you entils coming to terms with who Jesus Christ is, why He came and what Hes death and resurrection accompllished historically and for each of us individually. This wasn't just a religious scene, it was an historical crossroads from the Old Covenant/Ten Commandments to the New Covenant of God's love, mercy and grace to us through ALL that Jesus accomplished for us on that Cross.
So many in teh church today are bound up in a mish mash of trying to hold onto The Law, while at the same time trying to live in God's grace. DThat is an effort in futility b/c it's NOT what we were meant to do. Having a better understanding of the differences and distinctives of both Covenants makes it much easier to see where all the sin-focused, "I'm just a sinner saved by grace" mentality comes from. Learn from what Christ came to set you FREE and how you stand before God NOT on teh basis of your own obedience!
I highly recommend reading Bob George's book Classic Christianity and following it up with Jesus Changes Everything. Know a new believer, I'd give them copies of both of these books!

The author put it in a very clear and a very easy way to undestand how we sometimes as christians fall easily into the so called religion trap. We think by praying more, read more bible, involve in more ministries will entitle us to god's love for us . That's not what Grace is all about, it's all about God stooping down and reaching out for us in all his compassion and mercy and love. Bob george certainly had experienced God's Grace that he was able to explain what he was going through when he was an exhausted 'legalistic' Christian. One of the best books ive ever read about the revelation of Christ's Love for us
