Excellent biography. I have read Aretha Franklin's biography by Mark Bego earlier too so it made me curious about this and it prepared me with high expectations too to read about life of one of my favorite singers. The biography is so short that you can read it within a week; it comprises only the beginning of her career but considering the length of this book or lack of it this book is very informative and you learn many new details about her life, music and personality that you necessarily haven't known before. Great black-and-white photos included. My only complaint is the length or lack of it and that it only comprises the beginning of her career. Definitely worth checking out for any soul fan or a Sade fan or to someone who is new to her music. A total gem in my bookshelf.

This is a must read if you are a fan of Sade. I’m a massive fan. Music that has truly changed my life in so many ways. I love this band on a spiritual level. Sade is truly a gem to this world. One of the most gorgeous women with one of the most gorgeous voices 🩷
