The Confessions of Our Faith with ESV Proofs is based on the Burgess manuscript and the Caruthers edition, with minor exceptions added by the First American Presbyterian Assembly of 1789 and the First General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in America. Also, this edition will include a new historical background by Dr. David Calhoun, wordsmithing and editing by Rev. Brian Kinney, and a Westminster Abbey Historical Tour (pictorial). Words and phrases such as maketh, giveth, withal, sundry times, divers manners, etc. will be edited to reflect standard English usage; however, all theological terms will be retained.
