Many of you who follow my reviews may be shocked at my three-star rating; how could I, a Christian and a connoisseur of family entertainment, give an audio Bible anything less than a perfect score?
Let's start off with what I liked about it: It does a great job of bringing God's Word to life; the actors make the stories leap off the page. Also, hearing every word read clearly makes you notice details you would otherwise miss.
Now, for the problems: The digital version I of this I got from Apple Books was missing chapters entirely; in fact, I had to use another audio Bible I'd purchased to fill in the gaps.
That wasn't even the first version of this I've had problems with; a download of this I got from the official website had static in some spots, whereas the CD version I bought from CBD didn't want to copy to my Mac.
So, if you're looking for an audio Bible, I would suggest trying The Word of Promise or The Bible Experience. Those are wonderfully dramatized adaptations of God's Word, too...without the technical issues.
This translation and the production quality is great, however the Audible version has some issues. Some chapters are abridged, Psalms ends at chapter 108 instead of 150, etc. If a new Bible reader were to start with this version, they could get confused. Otherwise, a very enjoyable experience.
