Mixed feelings with this one. Some aspects, I like. But the girl being overly cringey about romantic stuff kinda didn’t do it for me. Love the art style though especially their chibi’s comical expressions. The new guy on the phone at the last few panels is the real Tajima, right?
Enfim, eu adorei.

Futarijime Romantic is a short, light read with a total of 3 volumes.
Tropes: - Grumpy x Sunshine vibes - School festival - Second male lead syndrome (sans love triangle)
The pacing of the story felt very natural and well done, but because it was a short and simple love story, I think the complexity of character development and the emotions driving them were kind of passed over. It's a very, "insta-love," story from the perspective of the female, with no clear or obvious reasons. By the end of the story, I know next to nothing about the boy she likes other than how disagreeable he tends to be. There are a few small moments where he does something sweet or romantic, but it wasn't until the ending that I felt his personality had improved to a more likeable level. I actually think the ending is very sweet, romantic and well done though! It felt like a proper and satisfying end to me, and I don't personally feel wanting for more.
Overall take:
I enjoyed reading this series, and I think it's worth reading. I liked some aspects of the story, and it was a nice light read, but to be honest it wasn't my preferred cup of tea and I doubt I'll read it a second time. I usually love this type of story, but I think the main male lead was a little too disagreeable for my taste, and I didn't really like him until the end. I also can't quite grasp why the female lead actually liked him either. They have almost nothing in common from what we're shown, and there's a second male lead that pops up that I liked a lot more and was a better fit for our female lead without ever having a chance.

At first, I found Kokomi a bit annoying with her idealistic view of love, which someone like Kyouhei might find odd. But her openness is exactly what drew him in and made him want to learn and experience love her way. Kyouhei’s sweetness and thoughtfulness honestly make him feel too perfect to be real. What I love most is that there’s no heavy drama, as it’s just pure fluff. Even the real “kiss stealer” doesn’t cause conflict, keeping the focus on the main couple’s heart-fluttering moments. The second couple is adorable, too. Overall, this manga is a total treat for anyone who loves fluffy, feel-good romance that makes your heart melt.

I heard this is a short manga so I'm giving it a try plus it's Sunshine and Grumpy trope and I'm a lover for that. Although it's a short story I feel it was too fast for me but they were cute so it's okay. I love Ayano! She's funny and a true friend sticking up for her bestie. Kuma loves romance so it's cute how she over-hypes everything although sometimes I feel bad that Tajima is not matching her energy and doesn't feel the same. Is the Kindergarten Tajima the one in the ending?
never thought i’d pull this and put it on my goodreads, but i briefly read and finished it in one day. the first volume gives me mixed feelings—Kamamori’s straightforward cringe isn’t for me, also the way she thinks the world should stick to the romantic line.... just nahh. but i really like the art, so i kept reading, even though the beginning felt so forced, like it had to happen. i still enjoyed it!
This manga has one of the cutest art styles I've seen in a while. The girl is especially so adorable, I wanna bite her cheeks.
It's an inoffensive light read, but I confess that Kumamori's obsession with romance started to annoy me pretty quickly. Girly was getting a fluttering heart from even a soft breeze. I also wish their development was a bit more natural; I felt like Tajima was forced into situations he'd rather not be in most of the time.
sooo freakin cute 🥰 i love how the fmc is more of the pursuer and is outwardly very interested in romance, i don’t think i’ve read a romance manga like that before. usually the girls r more nonchalant with zero experience and stumble into getting a bf but this is the complete opposite so i’m really enjoying it
It's very cute so far! I like the female lead, a hopeless romantic girl is fun and relatable, especially how the smallest things make her heart race. The male lead is interesting, too, with his indifference towards romance initially, but wanting to understand it more through our lead. The art is probably the best part though, it's very pretty, like candy for your eyes!
They're so damn cute!! The art style feels super refreshing, and I love their back and forth banter and simple interactions. It feels quite different to other shoujo mangas I've read in the past, and I honestly can't predict what might happen next!
Definitely going to start the next volume immediately (◕ᴗ◕✿)
(also what's with this Goodreads update?! We can do half stars now??)
the art is sooooo pretty i love it so much BUT the story is definitely on the flatter side. there’s kind of little to no plot and these two main characters have like no chemistry with one another bffr 😭😭 imma keep reading cause it’s only 3 volumes tho lol
