Volume 11 takes of were 10 ended with Rennt gathering ingredients. There are still assassins hunting them though and the next attack is not as easy to deal with as the earlier two. Why are they being targeted and can something be done about it?
Like previous volumes it is for the most part a slice-of-life story with a slow burn overall plot which at times seem to focus on side characters (which more often than become a lot more important later on). I find the characters entertaining and unique, both the MC and the side characters, and while the world is not terribly unique for the genre, it is different enough. The storytelling style itself is not as rambling as some other volumes in the series, although it is still there.
My biggest gripe though is not the slow burn plot, that is to be expected in light novel series to be honest, but that the pacing feels off. There is a big fight at the start of the book which feels like a climatic fight and then we get a lot of social interaction with a couple of minor fights. The arc effectively ends 2/3rds in, but then there still is a slice-of-life chapter after that which while an entertaining read, is more something I expect at the start of a volume.
Still, it was an entertaining read and more or less what I expected.
