Jack Keiser hasn't had an easy time of it. After a disastrous mission for the government years ago, he's been wary of trusting his fellow agents. Or ex-agents, since they no longer work for the government but for him. Keeping them in line is a full time job, made harder by his own strangely developing talent. Jack has the ability to change his shape. He's a chameleon who can assume the appearance of anyone he's ever touched. Even among psychics he's an oddball.
Now Jack's in a bind. Heather Stallbridge, sister to his silent partner in the gym, has gone missing, and it's up to Jack to find her. His journey leads him into the German Alps and to a strange village with even stranger people. To top off an already bad situation, the moment Jack sees Heather, he experiences what feels like love at first sight. Their connection is irrefutable, but he can' t trust that it's real. And that doubt is a problem, because without working together, they'll never find a way to escape the killers in the mountains, or to discover the unexplainable love growing between them.
Note: This book contains violence (including rape of secondary character by villain).

It was a good read, but they kept having sex at the most inopportune moments. In the living room of a little old lady's house 10 minutes after meeting, or against a tree in the woods, or while escaping from murdering psychos, etc.
Also -0.5 star any time there is a prophecy that says the couple has to work together and then one of them suggests splitting up because they're pissy. I encourage all authors to reconsider making their characters that stupid.
Really liked Heather's powers, though. That was neat.
I gave this book a solid 4 stars, which meant I really liked this book. When I saw how short it was, I had my doubts about how good it would be, but it exceeded my expectations. Jack is surly, angry, and has huge trust issues. While I think that it was pretty convenient how he got over that with Heather's help; I kind of wished it had happened more slowly and naturally, but while it would have made this into a longer book, Jack would have probably started to get on my nerves. I loved Jack, I personally think he's got the coolest power ever and wished he got to use it a lot more than he did. Think about it, a guy who can change his shape into anyone he wants, hello, it's like having all the guys in the world in one tasty package. Heather is one lucky beeyotch, if you ask me. Speaking of Heather, I liked her too and her power is also pretty amazing. She's a little rich girl who's done a lot of good in this world but wants to impress her family by doing things on her own, going into a dangerous situation without help, stupid but hey, her stupidity got her Jack; so no harm done. Like I said, this book was short but the chemistry between Jack and Heather was totally scorching from the get go. And as always, Marie Harte delivers some truly delicious sex scenes and quite frankly has turned sex talk into an art form.
I don't know if it's just me but every time I think about Jack and Heather, I think of Jack O'Neill and Major Samantha Carter from Stargate SG-1. Her 'yes Jacks' drive him crazy with lust, which reminds me of the many times Cater says "yes Sir" to O'Neill kind of like Wesley saying "as you wish" to Princess Buttercup in "The Princess Bride".
I really like the book series, this one just felt way too fast. I would’ve liked to explore the intense vibes from the leads instead of the whole insta-love feelings they developed for each other. Also this whole pocket world they basically were in, I didn’t feel like it was well described. Then at the end his “ proposal “ ..... meh, I just expected more, the whole book fell short and was a little anticlimactic .

Heather's Notes I wasn't as happy with this book as some of the others I had read. At first I liked that the main herione and I had the same name, but she turned out to be wimpy, so that was a disappointment. Still the plot was interesting and the story good for the most part. There is only one story left, so I will definitely be reading it.
Entranced is the seventh in Marie Harte’s PowerUp! series, featuring paranormal characters in pursuit of supernatural objects.
Jack Keiser has been a leader for what seems his whole life. Heather Stallbridge is a healer, and tired of being the weak one who needs protection. When Owen, Heather’s brother, loses touch with Heather, he asks Jack to find and protect her.
The two of them stumble across a powerful place that changes them both for good. A fast-paced and exciting read.
After suffering the twists and turns and headaches of all the crew, it's nice to see Jack get what he deserves. Interesting back story to the psychic beginnings too. As usual, Marie Harte creates an in-depth world that you feel grounded in and ready to fight what comes next.
Timeline wise, it plays out at the same time as #6 Silver Tongue
It's bloody Brigadoon! For those who don't know about Brigadoon, it's a magical village in the middle of a Scottish forest which appears once every hundred years. In ENTRANCED, Jack is searching high and low for Heather. He finally finds her when he stumbles into some Bavarian town which appeared out of nowhere in some forested mountain area of Germany.
Finally Jack is featured in a book. Jack runs the psychic covert group hiding behind the PowerUp! gym. Jack originally came from the Dawn Endeavor series where he experienced a betrayal by his female partner that completely screwed up his mind. This makes it easy to understand his avoidance of female partners both professionally and personally. Heather is his latest assignment. His buddy and financial backer, Owen, asks Jack to locate his missing sister, fearing the worst. Heather is the younger sibling determined to prove her worth and wants to contribute something meaningful to the family business. She is tired of feeling like the airheaded ornament.
This book is trademark Ms. Harte. Her characters are riveting as is her storyline. She once again perfectly matches up an alpha male with a bull headed female. Sometimes, I feel sorry for these male characters. They constantly have to exert their dominance for the female to finally either partner up with them or at least follow their lead. It's never easy and usually it takes some rather hard knocks before the couple balances each other out in a copasetic existence. This seventh installment and second to last in this series continues to round out this fascinating world. The tie-ins to Ms. Harte's other series make the fan girl in me squeal in delight.
The sex in this book is surprisingly light. It's not too kinky unless one considers sex outdoors under an unidentified magical entity's presence as kinky. When it finally happens between Jack and Heather, the reader will sigh in relief. Ms. Harte practices the art of deferred sexual gratification as well as cock teasing and orgasm denial in this tale. Since these are preferred techniques of sensually sadistic Doms, one could argue this book is pretty kinky.
The book resolves in a happily ever after and sets up for the last book in this series. I can't wait to read the last one which features the mysterious Owen. This book is recommended to paranormal romance lovers who enjoy stubborn characters.
Entranced is the latest book in the PowerUp! series by Marie Harte in which we finally get to find out more about the mysterious Jack Keiser. We also meet Heather Stallbridge for the first time.
The story was interesting and kept my attention throughout - I just didn't want to put the book down and stayed up late to finish it!! The characters were really good with loads of attraction and passion between Jack & Heather. The bad guys were truly dislikeable.... The storyline had suspense & intrigue, was fairly quick paced and moved along well. Was kinda disappointed when the book ended... I had enjoyed it so much!!
Set away from the world of the PowerUp! Gym, we don't see as much as we normally would of the usual cast of favourite characters but that's all good as this let us get more familiar with Jack and learn about all of his abilities....
Marie's writing style is fab. She hooks you in with the plot, gives us great characters that we can't help but like almost immediately (and even though they are all really good looking and hot as anything, they've got issues & worries that they need to work through) - her books put us through a whole range of emotions and most contain a good dose of humour too. To be honest, before I started reading Marie's PowerUp! books, I wasn't at all sure I'd like them.... hadn't really ready any m/m book before then. I'm so glad I picked up the first book in this series and I haven't missed one since. Have loved all of the stories.
I'm really looking forward to Killer Thoughts - Ian & Owen's story - which is coming out soon...
Jack is a mystery and he likes it that way. Not even his fellow agents know what his physic power is – well most of them. His soul is marred by pains of his past. Following a unexplainable obsession with a photo he takes a personal interest in a mission. Fate leads him into the hands of the one woman who can heal his soul and captivate his heart – if he will allow her. Heather has something to prove to herself and her family. She has a mysterious mission to complete that places her and her new rescuer, Jack in grave danger. They’ve found each other but can they find their way out alive?
I was completed taken by surprise on this one. I expected a great storyline from Ms. Harte but this was just shocking. How, after all of the books she’s written, she is able to come up with such interesting and different stories, keeping things fresh constantly, I will never know. This was a really great storyline that brings together an enticing mixture of fantasy, paranormal and good ol’ love at first sight.
Instead of a series dwindling as it progresses this series seems to get better and better.
I was skeptical about this story. I think it's because they started sexing straight away. She doesn't even like him at first but they have crazy wild sex as soon as Ida steps out of the house!? Really? Really? That didn't work for me. But I'll agree that the sex was hot. The Source really messes with people's mojo. I do like their powers. Heather's power is the best. The ability to heal emotionally and physically and I appreciate that there are ethics around her powers even though she's not ethical about healing him. Absolutely loved the joke about Jack being able to change his penis size and shape at will since he's a human shapeshifter. He's a multiple penis guy. Just what every hetero girl ever wanted. A different size to suit every desire. All in all it's a sweet story but I think more plot would have been nice.
This is a pretty short novel. But maybe it just felt that way. This can be read as a stand alone but it made a bit more sense since I read the first of the PowerUp! series (The Lost Locket). jack and Heather find a connection that transcends anything they thought would happen. They work together to get out of the creepy German town they find themselves in. Of course they do this in a very steamy way.
If anything I felt a bit short changed. I want an epilogue or something. How are they doing in Bend? I'm a sucker for the HEA epilogue. I did like the foreshadowing of the next (?) book with Heather's brother Owen and the con man Ian.
Marie's writing is fast paced and easy to read. She makes you like characters within a short period of time. I will be reading more of her work.
Jack Keiser, the head of the small group of psychics at the Power Up! gym is finally going on his own mission - to retrieve the sister of his silent partner, Heather Stallbridge. Heather went missing with the book that Aiden and Gavin retrieved previously and Jack must bring her and the book back.
I thought this story was pretty good but not as good as previous books. I think because while I love Jack and was waiting to hear his story, Heather was just okay as the female MC to me.
I did like the teaser at the end, though - I can't wait to read the next book!
It isn't often when I want to keep reading when a book ends. The book was very good, the story of Jack and Heather and the search that leads them to love. He's been hired to look for her and she's trying to make a wrong from the past right. I haven't read any of the Power Up! books and this book made me want to read them all. I loved this book and was truly sad to see it end, I wanted to read more about them and their life together. I usually mainly read shifter books, but these was something completely different, people with different "gifts". Not my grandmother's Barbara Cartland. LOVED IT
Originally I was going to skip this book when I got to reading the series. I'm glad I didn't. I loved reading how Jack gets 'tamed' by Heather. Although within hours of meeting each other they are getting it on, Jack has been obsessed with Heather's picture from the getgo, implying that they already have a deep connection just waiting to come full force.
Magic, mystery, suspense, evil villains, and hot sex packed into a small package, ENTRANCED held my attention from beginning to end! Jack and Heather were full of humor and sarcasm and great chemistry. I really enjoyed this story and can't wait to check out the backlist!
