Night of the Tiger

Five thousand years ago, in order to be saved from the horrors of Hell, shapeshifting warrior Roric was imprisoned in his animal form on a carousel. Only one woman’s touch can release him. After that, all he has to do is stay alive for twenty-hours, and his soul is safe from Hades for all eternity. But is the woman who sets him free a distraction sent by Hades?

Once upon a time N.J. had the idea that she would like to quit her job at the bookstore, sell everything she owned, leave her hometown, and write romance novels in a place where no one knew her. And she did. Two years later, she went back to the bookstore and her hometown and settled in for another seven years.

One day she gave notice at her job on a Friday morning. On Sunday afternoon, she received a tentative acceptance for her first erotic romance novel and life would never be the same.

N.J. Walters is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author who has always been a voracious reader, and now she spends her days writing novels of her own. Vampires, werewolves, dragons, time-travelers, seductive handymen, and next-door neighbors with smoldering good looks—all vie for her attention. It’s a tough life, but someone’s got to live it.

So you know when you get tired of the same ole, same ole plot and blurb in books. Yeah? Well, me too. 4 this is differnt and really quite fantastic stars.

So I have had this book on my radar for a while now and I'm not really sure why I waited. The Lady of the Beasts a Goddess from before the Olympians was locked away in the Underworld as she wouldn't give up her warriors for evil. She cursed her seven warriors to not fall into Hades lap.

Aimee Horner has been having strange nightmares and they are getting worse. In some of her dreams though she is protected by a white tiger.
On one fateful night her friend takes her to (S)HADES'S CARNIVAL after some strange encounterings in the Funhouse and her so called friend she stumbles across an old abandoned carousel adorned with vividly exotic animals. 3 are missing a Serpent, a Phoenix and s Jaguar they have been released.
The Lion, Tiger, Wolf and Bear are waiting to be released. Aimee can't resist temptation and awakens the warrior Roric. They have to fight against Hades as he wants their souls.

Great plot with great characters. A must read in my opinion.

N.J. Walters takes us deep into Hell in her new series Hades’ Carnival with the 1st book Night of the Tiger. Things can’t get any more creepy than demons a Succubus and of course Hades himself. You are definitely kept on the edge throughout this thrilling book with plenty of spice to set Hell on fire!

In Aimee Horner is having a hard time telling reality from illusion. When she woke up from a coma at seventeen after a car crash that killed her parents her nightmares became hellish. Although she was able to turn them into a career as graphic artist now these nightmares have literally taken her into the depths of Hell with Hades himself. Her only saving grace has been dreams of a white tiger that has given her a peace that these nightmares seem to take away.

Roric, the leader of the warriors for The Lady of the Beast has been trapped in his white tiger form for five thousand years waiting for his chosen one to come and release him. Put there in this state of protection by his “Lady” from Hades, Hades is now looking to release all these warriors for his own reasons. With this comes a price of course. Roric has only have 24 hours to either join Hades or fight him if he can hold him off for those 24 hrs. Then he his free otherwise he will lose his soul. That’s not the only catch though the woman that release’s him will also die as well.

When Aimee is dragged off to a Carnival by her friend she can feel the evil surrounding it, seeing things that shouldn’t be there she isn’t sure if she is in a waking dream or not? When she spots a beautiful carousal with a white tiger just like her dreams she is automatically drawn to it. Once she touches it her life is forever changed and her nightmare is really beginning. Once Aimee has released Roric he doesn’t know what to believe is she working with the demons with Hades or has his “Lady” sent her to him.

The chemistry between them is flaming hot and it has been over fives thousands years for Roric but his tiger senses more about Aimee as their mate. Roric and Aimee can’t help the sexual tension between them and definitely take the time to release a lot of it. Although Roric knows he must protect Aimee he can’t think past the one day and even contemplate having Aimee in his life at all his goals are simple and his loyalties are with others. Aimee knows this but even so she feels a pull to Roric something she can’t explain and she will do everything she can to make sure he sees the next day.

Knowing they only have one day to defeat Hades their loyalties and faith are tested. Aimee and Roric are both honorable and strong warriors in their own rights one as a human one as an immortal shape-shifter but still even in the face of Hell and Hades are they willing to give up themselves to save the other?

I have read several of Ms. Walters’ series and she has never disappointed in the paranormal department and the HOT sex department either and this book was no exception. Definitely looking forward to the next book and the journey of the carnival and see how the next shifter and his chosen one are tested.

Aimee Horner has been having nightmares of being stuck in hell, they seem to get more vivid as time goes one, the only relieve she ever seems to get is when she dreams of her white tiger. But as a graphic novel illustrator she has always had a lively imagination and so she uses her nightmares to try and create her own graphic novel. But when she goes to a carnival with her friend, it seems that her nightmares are coming to life and so is the white tiger...

I am so disappointed in this book! I really loved the premise of it; however, for me it just didn't live up to expectation. I found myself losing interest in the characters as I was reading, they just didn't hold my attention, although Roric the hero of the story was sexy and intense he didn't stand out enough in a genre full of sexy and intense heroes.

However, there were aspects of this book I did like, tension and atmosphere was created really well. This was especially the case when Aimee was having nightmares and whilst she was in the carnival N.J. Walters managed to make it seem creepy and unreal and I did enjoy those parts. But it did fall down a little in the romance department, this could have been because of my disinterest in the characters themselves though rather then any lack of chemistry on their part.

Although this was book was okay and I loved the idea behind it, unfortunately this hasn't captured my imagination like other Paranormal Romance series have.

Do I really have to rewatch again and again Disneys Hercules to get a really cool evil Hades?
Loved the atmosphere at the carneval in the beginning, but the characters stayed pale , especially the hero (come on white tigers should ve way cooler) and the villains were kinda lame.
Nice romance but nothing too impressive.
All in all I exptected more ... more magic, more mythology, more coolness, more hades. Nice read but I am a bit disappointed.

This was nice in that it dealt with a goddess that was older then the Olympians, the Lady of the Beasts. When the Olympians rose to defeat her, she cursed/saved her 7 warriors to remain as statues in the form of their animals. Each will have a chance to be saved by their mate/person/lover.
Roric was the white tiger. It appears that 3 of his fellow warriors were freed before him (the serpent (Mordecai), the Phoenix (same name), the Jaguar (Stavros). Their fate is unsure (mostly- we know what happened to Mordecai and were told what happened to the other 2).
Aimee has been having dreams for years. Recently the dreams are more realistic and worse. Aimee has also had tragedy. Her parents were killed by a drunk driver and Aimee had severe, life changing injuries. Aimee is a reclus and illustrates comic books/graphic novels for a living.
Aimee and Roric's attraction was instant and very insta-love. Lots of sexytimes. I think the instant attraction/love factor both worked (they only had 24 hours) and didn't (this for the same reason). Aimee had a lot of backstory, Roric not so much. Even though this is supposed to be stand alone, the others are still carousal animals/fate unknown/Hades helper and the Lady is still trapped in the Underworld. I'm not sure at this point if I would read more in the series.

Night of the Tiger was an interesting book shifter romance book. It's all about these shifters who are trapped in a carnival ride: the carousel. Of course they are in their animal form and once they meet their mate, they are freed.

After meeting the two MC's, I was intrigued enough because I wanted to see how this was all going to play out. Plus I really wanted to know more about Hades plan for everyone trapped in this ride. Then there's the romance, which was hot and unexpected. I mean, they are mates and stuff but I wasn't expecting things to go so fast between them. Not that I'm mad or anything.

Other than that, it was an easy book to listen to and I might even dive into the rest of the series. Just to see if they all eventually become free and meet up again? Also, what is Hades plan?

I have to say that I wasn't really sure if I wanted to read this series or not. I bought the first two books and they have set on my nook ever since. I love paranormal, but for some reason I was just unsure of these.

However, after reading the first book I am very glad that I bought them.

Night of the Tiger is all that I love about paranormal romance. This is even a little on the dark side from a lot of lighter paranormal books that I have read.

There is plenty of fighting and I love a manimal with a sword. Tigers are just a plus anyway. Don't get to read very many books with tiger shifters in them.

N.J. Walters has done an excellent job with setting up the world of hell. Very descriptive, I could actually see and smell what I was reading (no, my kitchen wasn't on fire ;-)), but I am one of those people who really get into what I am reading.

The feelings of anger, need, want, lust and eventually love are all very well played, considering that she had to fit it all in there in just a 24 hour period. Very well done.

What a bizarre story! Immortal shapeshifting warriors, frozen in time in their animal forms, forced to wait out their destiny on a carousel owned by Hades himself. Only a certain type of female can free them, and once she does, they have to survive the next 24 hours to be free forever.

3 of the 7 warriors have already been set free... 2 are dead and 1 has joined 'the dark side' and is now working to make sure the remaining warriors fail (or is he?).

I love white tigers, so I automatically loved Roric. I loved Aimee because she was smart and brave and didn't cower, run away, or do something dumb-ass to put herself and Roric in more danger. She knew that when you have a warrior beside you, you do whatever he tells you to do and you do NOT argue! Smart girl.

I'm really iffy about paranormal books lately, and I usually abandon them halfway through. This book, however, kept me reading until the end, and right on into book 2!

Tough rating this one. I loved the story outline, but the execution lacked. The writing was frequently overblown and felt awkward. Much eye rolling ensued throughout.

The heroine was plucky without being too stupid, yet was insecure enough to be mildly annoying. The hero was very black and white, in more ways than one. Strong, confident, protective, determined, and sure that the heroine had no place in his life, besides some quickies, because of his devotion to his duty. Blech.

The sex scenes tried to be hot, but it felt more like some extra naughty words were thrown in to give it a more adult rating. Note: there are more words for nipples than tight. taut, or turgid "buds" and "spurt" is rarely an appealing word.

The fact that there was no pat solution to some of the hero's situation at the end was different. Because of things like that and the mythological theme, I'm hoping that this is one of the author's early works and that improvement will happen with time.

This was an easy book to get into. There wasn't any surprises at least for me. Yes they feel in love very quickly but then this book is based off of like 24 hours or something. Didn't bother me at all. I really enjoyed it and am excited to read about the rest of the warriors. What else does Hades have up his sleeves? Hmm??

Hades Carnival, a place where demons run free under the disguise of humans, all while guarding an ancient carousel that has imprisoned seven ancient warriors for Thousands of years. Each one has been locked into his shifter form, a wolf, bear, white tiger, lion. Waiting for the right woman to come along and free them. Then it's game on as Hades only had 24 hours to turn them over to his side, or kill them. If he doesn't manage this in the 24 hours, the warrior is free and can never be harmed by Hades again.

I absolutely loved this first book in the Hades Carnival series! A wonderful novel filled with hot 🔥steamy romance, strong male characters, yet equally strong female leads as well, mixed with some ancient Greek mythology and bam...a great read!

White Tiger Warrior

A white tiger warrior bound onto a carousel by an ancient spell & an illustrator are drawn together by the fated words of the spell.
Aimee who seems to be a quiet & reclusive person who was injured in an accident that killed her parents visits a travelling carnival where all is not as it seems.
Roric lost in a great battle five thousand years before & has been held in his tiger form on a carnival ride waiting for his lady to come & release him.
Their chemistry is instant & Aimee develops into an interesting partner with hidden strengths.
I loved it & want to see what happens to the rest of the warriors.

I've read all of this authors most recent work, and was so excited to find this series from Entangled. Very cool, fresh plot. Like everything N.J. writes, the tension between these characters sizzles right off the pages. Looking forward to the next book.

A LASR BEST BOOK!

Imagination has always fueled Aimee Horner’s illustrations for graphic novels. But lately, nightmares worse than any she has created, have begun to invade her dreams: dreams of demons and evil and of a Goddess searching. And always, since she was small, visions of the white tiger through them all.

Aimee doesn’t get out much, but her friends convince her to visit the traveling carnival, and there she becomes captivated by the carousel with its exotic animal statues. When Aimee sees the white tiger, she has to get closer, and when she climbs on his back, her life will never be the same. What Aimee doesn’t realize is that this is Hades Carnival, and the animals on the carousel are beings imprisoned by their Goddess to save them from being killed. When the white tiger comes to life, Aimee knows something has entered her life, something she can’t ignore. Roric is the white tiger, and he has twenty four hours to fight the power of Hell and be truly free. Roric is drawn to Aimee, but is torn between his feelings for her, and his duty to rouse his brothers in arms and rescue their Goddess. Can Aimee and Roric get past the twenty-four hour deadline unscathed? When Hades tries every trick to stop Roroc and enslae him, will he stand firm or be destroyed? Will Roric stay with Aimee, or begin an eternal quest to save his Goddess and his fellow warriors?

Night of the Tiger is the first of NJ Walters’ limited series, Hades’ Carnival. This is a darker world than most that Ms. Walters has built. The characters are deeper, edgier and more conflicted than her usual folks, but they are as expertly crafted as any she has done. This is definitely not a world I would like living in, but a visit from time to time would be a treat, sort of like visiting the spook house at the county fair: scares you silly, but still, you keep going back.

Aimee Horner is a talented artist, and has built a life for herself with her work. Aimee is strong and a bit shy, not enjoying being around lots of folks. As her dreams become nightmares, her art becomes a bit darker, and her nightmares soon become real. When Aimee wakes up in bed with Roric, she is surprised, but not afraid, as though she realizes he is, somehow, her white tiger from her dreams, always there to soothe her when she was afraid. I liked Aimee’s courage, and her pragmatic view of Roric: she realizes she has no hold on him, but sees no reason she can’t enjoy their time together and build some lovely memories for once he has left her. She is afraid, too, and tells Roric she will do whatever it takes to help him survive the twenty four hours until he can be truly free. I enjoyed Aimee’s spirit and her ability to adapt to the situations as they came, without letting the fear overcome her. Yes, she is afraid, but she is determined to get past it.

Roric has been imprisoned in his animal form for centuries, on the carousel with his fellow warriors. He is shocked when Aimee’s touch frees him, and his devotion to his Goddess is complete and unwavering. I loved Roric’s loyalty and his determination to rescue his Goddess, and enjoyed watching as he came to care for Aimee in spite of his intentions. He is strong and handsome, but it is his integrity and faith that make him such an intriguing character.

The chemistry Ms. Walters has created between these two is subtle at first, but as their time together progresses, the strength of Roric’s passion becomes stronger. I enjoyed seeing how these two battled Hades’ minions, fighting for each and every minute they could get. There were not many secondary characters here, but the appearance of one of Roric’s fellow warriors who has turned to Hades’ side is an intriguing twist to this one, as is the news that two others were roused, but were defeated. This still leaves three more ‘beast’ to be freed, and I look forward to the next dark chapter of Hades’ Carnival, thanks to the creative and delightful NJ Walters.

This was a very good story. I liked both Roric and Aimee and their story surprised me with the interesting world building and a good plot. I've read stories by this author before but never tried her PNR work. I'm pleasantly surprised and plan to try more of her work in this genre.

Aimee is a graphic designer that lives in North Carolina. Her parents died years before in a wreck that left her with a bad leg and some scars. Since then, Aimee has become a bit of a recluse and never dates. She loves her work and focuses on that. Her main problem consists of bad dreams that plague her.

Roric is an ancient warrior that is 1 of 7 that served a Goddess known as the Lady of the Beasts. When Hades tried to take her out, Roric and his fellow warriors fought hard but were unable to prevail. To save them from Hades, their Lady froze them in their animal forms until a certain woman comes to release them. Then they have to stay free of Hades and alive for 24 hours and they regain their powers and are safe from Hades for good.

Aimee's dreams have been coming for years, since her coma after the accident that killed her parents. She has bad dreams of demons and worse but also has good dreams that always have a white tiger in them that makes her feel safe. The demon dreams get worse as time goes on and the last one (before the story kicks in) involves a confrontation with Hades himself. Aimee is feeling like she might be losing her mind and isn't sure what to do about it except to get everything she's dreaming out in drawings. Aimee has a friend that ends up dragging her to a traveling carnival that comes in to town. The place weirds Aimee out but she tries to convince herself it's just her imagination as she sees weird things and again wonders about her sanity. Aimee stumbles upon a tent with an old carousel with spots for 7 creatures but only 4 are left. One of them is a white tiger that calls to her and Aimee can't help but get on the tiger. When she does that some weird (sanity questioning) stuff takes place and she wakes up at home in her own bed. This would relieve her if not for the fact there's a strange man in the bed with her. Only he's not so strange as Aimee realizes she dreamed about him once (a sensual dream), the night before going to the carnival.

Roric and Aimee have a very strong attraction but they also aren't sure what's going on. Roric has just woken up from a stasis of around 5,000 years. He seems his priority as freeing his fellow warriors and his Lady goddess, assuming he can live past the 24 hour deadline. He doesn't know at first if Aimee is a pawn of Hades but son comes to realize that she's not and is an innocent that's been pulled in by Hades and the "curse" that made her his destined woman. Roric decides he has to keep Aimee safe as well but thinks emotions will weaken him so he tries to keep himself separate to a certain extent. This separation is emotional mostly though because Aimee and Roric can't keep their hands off each other. Aimee is freaked about getting drawn in to this epic battle but doesn't want to see the world fall to Hades so she decides she must help. She also feels a connection to Roric and wants to see him live. They go through 24 hours of some pretty intense crap and there were a few tears when things looked bad but we do come out with Aimee and Roric getting their HEA (although they still have to save the others, they're solid as a couple so I counted it as a HEA).

I enjoyed this story very much. I liked Roric. While I didn't like him fighting his connection to Aimee, it fit with the story and made since for who and what he is and when he came around he came around big time. Aimee is a pretty smart and resourceful heroine and fights at Roric's side and doesn't fall for the demon's mental games. I also loved her comparisons between their circumstances and horror movies and her determination not to be a TSTL heroine. I liked this story a lot and plan to read the rest of the series when I have time. I'd recommend this story. Thumbs up. :D

I absolutely loved this book! I knew before reading it that I would enjoy it but I had no idea how much I until I finally got to read it! I’ve been a fan of this author for a while now and I really enjoy all that I’ve read but this is most definitely my favorite!!! The concept is very interesting; I love the whole idea of these immortal shape-shifters who were made by a goddess, only to be imprisoned because of Hades wanting to use them in his fight for power. I love books with aspects of Greek mythology and I have to say, this is one of my favorites ever! Oh and the crazy carnival theme, with the demons being the ones who are running it, that was pretty creepy! Everything about it is pretty much awesome!!!
Aimee, the heroine in this story, is a graphic novel illustrator and a loner so she rarely leaves her house. You’ll find out more about why she’s a loner when you read the book. Roric, the hero, is an ancient shape shifting warrior who has been imprisoned in his Tiger shape, between dimensions and unable to actually be a part of the world but was able to see time pass the whole time. These two characters fit so well together! Who better to be with a beautiful tiger shape shifter than someone who can and has drawn him in all of his magnificence? Aimee is one of my favorite heroines ever! The girl is 100% Bad Ass! There is one particular part, the first big fight scene actually, when she really kicks butt! I literally yelled out loud (my husband thought I lost my mind) because it was that cool! JAnd Roric, oh man! If I had to choose one favorite Paranormal creature/character type that is my very favorite, I would pick tiger shifters! There’s just something about the idea of a big beautiful cat turning into a big beautiful man!!! And Roric is definitely that! ;)
This was a fantastic read! The story was great, very well written, and the characters are some of her best! I loved her descriptions, of the demons and Hades, of The Lady of the Beasts and the shifters, even Aimee’s art work, it really pulls you into the story and helps you see what the characters are seeing and feel what the characters are feeling! I can not wait for the next book in this series, I’m so looking forward to seeing where the author takes these wonderful characters! If you love paranormal romance, read this book! I kid you not, you will LOVE it!!!

Hades, demons and sadistic clowns, Oh My!
Night of the Tiger
I'm trying, as I write this, to imagine Judy Garland cozying on up not to a Tin Man, not to a scruffy but timid lion, not to an adorable bunch of puff bodied Munchkins, but to a man-creature older than recorded time itself.

N.J. Walters has stepped into the ever shifting sands of the Greek Gods of old, brought tendrils of their legends forward and told tales written in the past that must come to fruition in the present with such passion and danger you dare not stop to take a breath.

Demons, insane circus comedians, a goddess, long forced into mere skin and bones of her former self, and the Lord of the Underworld, too physically beautiful not to nearly blind you, and too evil not to make you fear the place you've landed inside his design with every skittering beat of your heart.

My daughter, Kat Holmes is my resident Greek Mythology GENIUS. Since the beginning of HER writing career, she has been molding stories around the ancient gods, bringing them into these more modern...better?...times. Because of Kat when I see a new take on these ancient specters from times long gone, I find myself, like a magnet drawn.

Can N.J. Walters, an author I have reviewed before and admire deeply, measure up to the already high standards I place on all story telling involving the God's my daughter knows inside out and upside down?

N.J. Walter's writing voice consistently packs a wallop worthy of trusting her to take us into the nefarious lair of the God of the Underworld, Hades. The far too gorgeously treacherous Immortal, Hades, is here, with creatures as flawlessly grotesque as he is exquisitely beautiful.

Demonic things of all shapes, sizes, and temperaments pack the pages of this powerful walk, through, around, and deeply into, hell...and they are all bent on preventing the heroine from saving the hero N.J.'s demented deity Hades means to crush at all costs.

A-1 story telling. A-1 writing talents. A-1 entwining of passion and fear. A-1 brilliantly layered journey into a high octane world of suspense...and love. A full package of anciently modern TNT.

FIVE STARS for Book One in this Hades Carnival Series, NIGHT OF THE TIGER.

This is the story of Aimee Horner, an illustrator for graphic comics, and Roric, an ancient warrior from the dawn of time.
It turns out that Roric can turn into a white tiger when he wants.
Did the changing into the white tiger play an important part in the story?
NO.

That was weird.
Why the title, Night of the White Tiger, if it isn't used in the story in a major way?
It seemed a bit like bait and switch to me.
In other words, a way to sell more books.
Still, the plot was intricate enough, and the character good enough, for me to forgive and forget.

I liked all of the characters, even the really bad guy, Hades himself.
* Confession time, I watched a lot of Hercules and Zena when they were on years ago.
THAT Hades was an overworked bureaucrat, who deeply loved his wife, and was a really nice guy. *
In this novel Hades is NOTHING like that.
He is portrayed much as Satan is, except his visage is more like Lucifers.

Overall the plot was well done, except it makes little sense when it comes to Hades actions.
Why is he doing thing as stated?
I hate books where the plot line drives the characters to do stupid or unlikely things.
Plot should flow from the choices the characters make, not because they HAVE to happen.
This is hard for me to explain, and would take awhile.
Mostly the plot is well done, but here and there some bits feel a bit forced.

However, it was my overwhelming liking of the main characters, Aimee Horner and Roric, that made this book work for me.
I related well to Aimee and her life.
I know what illustrator's go through to do the artwork for a graphic novel.
It's really hard work, and you have to love it to succeed.

Then there are Aimee's skills, talents and abilities: strength of will, loyalty, excellent visual acuity, and the whole, she learned to swing a splitting maul (like an axe and sledgehammer combined) from her father and how to swing a sword at Comicon.
You have to love her.
If she had played AD&D, I would have wanted her as a sister.
She'd be a perfect match for me.
Of course we sisters would have gotten into a lot of trouble, etc...

The sex isn't overwhelming or weird.
Did I write that?
OK, not weird to me.

All in all, I hope you give this book a try.
I really enjoyed it.

Aimee's parents died and she supports herself as a graphic artist, living in their/her family home. Aimee limps and has scars from the accident. She is also having nightmares of hell and conversations with Hades. Throughout her dreams there is a beautiful white tiger who gets closer and closer and she is fascinated by it.
A circus comes to town and though Aimee would never go to it, her only friend asks her to go and she agrees. Almost immediately she and her friend are separated and Aimee goes from one terrifying area of the circus to another. In a run to freedom she finds a tent containing a beautiful old carousel. 4 animals are on it, and 3 empty areas show where other animals had been. She is irresistibly drawn to the carousel and to the beautiful white tiger that is one of the animals. She pets it and she feels fur, not the wood that it resembles. She climbs on the tiger and the carousel starts. An audience resembling demons appears, roaring, and as she fears that she will fall off as the ride accelerates, she begs the tiger to save her.
Aimee wakes up in her bed, convinced that all had been another nightmare. But she is not in bed alone, the huge, gorgeous naked man next to her has black and white striped hair, and she is so drawn to this stranger. What is real? What is nightmare? The man can change at will to the huge white tiger and she loves them both. But her love will come at a great cost to them both. They have to fight Hades and his minions and survive before their time expires. Can a scarred graphic artist be of any help in the coming battles? Can Roric (the white tiger)- one of the original 7 Beasts of The Lady of the Beasts, keep Aimee safe, find and release his Lady from Hell, find and release the other 6 Beasts? What happened to the 3 released from the carousel? Why did they not come back to free the rest? How long will Aimee and Roric's love last? Their very lives?
I enjoyed this book and hope to find time to read the others in this series.

The main story is actually an interesting one. Some things were bothersome:
1. The horniness of both H/h was annoying. One look, one touch and their horniness kicks in. They fight it, it gets triggered, they're all over each other and then retreat. And this happened most of the book.
2. If Hades is so almighty and is out to get them, how come there were only 3 lame attacks? If he is really after them (and he is powerful Hades afterall) then why weren't the two on the run?
3. What's the deal with her constantly changing clothes? Considering #2, they should have been running, fighting and dirty throughout the remaining 12 hours of the day. Instead both were mostly in the house, thinking about sacrificing themselves for the other, and she is washing up, showering and changing clothes and having coffee.
4. The tiger didn't get any action! What a bummer!
I do like the Greek mythology. Their Gods and half Gods are very interesting. This book could have been amazing.

Overall: This was an incredible story that at first i didn't think i was going to even like. But that changed once I started reading page one. This story sucked me in and sent me on a crazy horror/love story ride that I'll never forget. The story started out a little slow, giving us a chance to get to know Aimee and he dreams that would be discussed more later into the book. Than Sandra ( Aimee's friend ) & Aimee went out for a night of fun at the carnival and that when all the real story begins. I know they only had 24 hours to really make a connection, but in my opinion I wish they would've spent more time giving Roric and Aimee a chance to meet and actually bond. It felt kind of weird that they were "in love" by the end, but it did make for great sex scenes. I really can't wait to read the next book!

Characters: Roric & Aimee

Page Turner: oh yes!

Series Cont: Yes ; Onto the Bear

It was a good story over all, but it took me a while to get into it but after a while it was stating to get good. White Tiger/Man is immortal warrior for the Lady of the beasts (Goddess before the Olympians) and was cursed to his animal form until a woman broke the curse, five thousands years later. His savior is Aimee a lone survivor of a car crash that claimed her parents. Many years later. Since the day she woke up in the hospital a white tiger had made an appearance in her dreams and she felt safe until later on she had nightmares of the hell realm with Hades himself taunting her and using his demons to get close to her and find out what she means to the frozen animal warriors he has that was mounted onto and antique carousel. When she goes to the carnival and later sits on the back of the tiger on the carousel her life as she knows it changes.
