Have you ever experienced the peace of walking through the woods or the excitement of a storm gathering on a beach? Drawing Nature for the Absolute Beginner will help you capture these moments in artwork and share them others.
In their fun and friendly teaching style, Mark and Mary Willenbrink offer a great beginner's course on drawing nature, showing you how to realistically capture the world around you.
All you need to get started are some simple supplies, basic techniques, and inspiration. From field to forest, beach or mountain, begin with a structural sketch, apply values and textures, and, before you know it, you'll be drawing everything you see. You'll even learn how to render favorite wildlife such as chipmunks, deer and eagles!
• Follow along with easy step-by-step demonstrations to draw rocks, seashells, butterflies and even more developed nature scenes. • Gain a working understanding of key concepts such as perspective, value and composition. • Discover simple tools and tips you can use right away to improve your art.
I found this on sale at Hobby Lobby. I previously purchased another book by Willenbrink about watercolors. The URL links at the bottom of the pages are not working in 2019. The URL for www.artistsnetwork.com works for other artists. There are 23 demonstrations for practice in this book but I felt there were some steps missing for an absolute beginner who is likely to need much more practice about hatching when the directions state, add values.
I liked this one, I can say that I draw better now because of this book. I do wish though, that they had included pictures of the motives if possible, so as not to basically copy another person's sketches
As others have mentioned your practice exercises references are not real pictures but from sketches the artist. Worth having a look at however there is other beginner guides that you may prefer.
A good book on graphite pencil shading . elements in nature have been taken for demonstration. Clear and up to the point explanation and demo greatly help
