After 6,000 years of imbalance between masculine and feminine we are emerging into the light of conscious awareness about who we really are. In this important book Evolutionary Astrologer, Medium, and Channel Tom Jacobs leads you through an exploration of the genesis and roots of the patriarchy and how Lilith's issues reflect the imbalance through which we have for so long lived. Jacobs takes apart the myth that we have been taught and cuts through the fog of negativity surrounding Lilith that has brought us to fear knowing her. He lays out an archetypal process for healing Lilith within us that honors her as a natural part of us - not as a demon to be feared. He then explains the difference between several Liliths used in astrology, making a case for the use of the osculating apogee or true Black Moon Lilith. Natal houses, signs, and aspects of Lilith are explained, followed by transits and progressions to Lilith and the true Black Moon itself in transit. The text concludes with an exploration of Lilith in relationship. This book offers a unique and empowering look at a goddess we are taught to fear but need to learn to honor and respect within us. Tom Jacobs here provides tools to end the patriarchal war on the feminine through insight, acceptance, and compassion.
This was my least favorite of the three books I recently read about Black Moon Lilith. The author verges on being antisemitic in his blaming the patriarchy on Judaism. He specifically targets Jewish commandments and assigns offensive reasons for them. He is not a Jewish scholar, nor any kind of expert in Judaism or Jewish texts or customs. Yet he vilifies Jewish practices. He throws in some lines about not wanting to take issue with Judaism or criticize its adherents, but of course that is exactly what he does.
It sounds to me like the author is at the stage of Lilith where people who have been victimized lash out in anger at others and blame them for all their troubles. Jews have been the target of this for thousands of years. You are not very original Mr. Jacobs.
Black Moon Lilith is in my 1oth house. This book has helped reassess my values and the inner conflict I have with my career on a daily basis. I cannot say enough about this book. It has helped me embrace my Black Moon Lilith.
I read on the advice of a health coach. Some interesting tidbits, but the author seems antisemitic and likes to oversimplify huge concepts like patriarchy.
Very thorough archetypical, historical and evolutionary look at Black Moon Lilith. As a Master Evolutionary Astrologer, I have been watching BML for along time in charts. Because of pertinent placements I needed to know more about her to do more thorough readings for my clients. After researching available books, I choose Tom's, who is also a colleague. I am very glad I did. His approach to BML is very respectful and, as a man, you will see a very objective and even revered view of the feminine. He has an excellent understanding of the historical nature of BML and the feminine and her place in today's world. He brings in ethnic applications that have affected the BML paradigm that one must read in the evolutionary, cultural and historical intent it is meant, that offended one reader. The author would have been remiss to leave this out. I also found the book to have a philosophical tone which I found appropriate when approaching this dichotomy of a woman warrior, demon, healer, energy, passionate and compassionate woman that is helping us untangle many related issues in past and present lives through astrological charts. I recommend this book to any wanting to truly understand Lilith.
