Faust comes from a wealthy family with a long record of public service. When a pandemic breaks out, all expect him to take the lead in combating the disease. However, Faust is tired of dealing with such disasters while others stand on the sidelines. He wonders if he has wasted his life and missed out on its pleasures. In a fit of rage, he calls out the devil's name. Mephistopheles then appears with a deal in hand. Faust can experience the pleasures of youth in exchange for his soul. Despairing with his life, Faust accepts the bargain.
