What do you want to achieve in your life? Money, fame, time, or power. The secret to success is simple. The question you need to answer is; what are you willing to give up to achieve success? You cannot achieve success if you are not willing to give something up; time, sleep, money, sport activities, etc… Everything comes at a cost. Once you have made that choice and commitment to your goals, you can start to work on reaching your goals. Set small achievable steps as there will be obstacles along the way that must be overcome. This book will illustrate a path or idea that will allow you to work towards your goals. You do not have to be rich or come from a place of prominence to be successful; it just requires commitment and hard work. My hope is that by understanding how I achieved my goals it will help you achieve your goals.
About ten years ago, I made a decision to change my life - my goal was to help others to achieve their goals and aspirations. Since that time I have: earned my Doctorate degree which enables me to teach as a professor at a local college, I became a certified life coach, an author, a motivational speaker, a ski instructor and a motorcycle instructor. I am passionate about all these areas, and want others to find and enjoy their passions as well.
I got this book through a free giveaway for an honest review. I’d say 3.5 but I’ll roundup, it had a good message. The author lays out his life ups and downs and explains what he did to reach his goals. It’s inspirational. After each chapter he writes about the lessons he learned. It’s basically just him doing a quick review on what you just read. It’s redundant. Sometimes he explained how he felt about what happened, sometimes he said what his plan was based on what happened. A lot of the time, it was just a rehash of the chapter. The author did have some good questions/advice at the very end of each chapter. Little tasks for you to think about/do.
Very quick read. Interesting points. Good ideas. A little redundant and repetitive.
The author writes the book in the first person, using his life experience to encourage or motivate the readers. If you think you cannot or is too hard, think again. Anything is possible to achieve as long as you are willing to achieve and work at achieving small steps at time. Obstacles that come in your way will try to divert or prevent you from achieving what you wish to achieve, but there are ways to overcome as the author emphasizes in his book. Persistence and motivation to keep going is the key. I was able to put myself in author’s shoes at times.
I strongly recommend reading the book, as it is a great motivational and effective master piece, that is worth reading and your time.
Though, I don't agree with the theory of having to give something up to gain success, (other than time/sleep)it was well written. Everyone has an opinion (I won't share mine) on how to achieve success but atleast the author shares his theory in a non-intrusive way. Nothing is worse than someone who thinks they know-it-all and crams their opinion down your throat.
