I'm in a city full of fae who despise me because of my magic, with a mate who doesn't have time to see me.
Yeah, it's been great.
I've about decided to move to the earth fae lands when someone wakes the Mother of All Monsters, and Flood decides I have to go with him into the Aboa to put her back to sleep.
When I call him out for avoiding me, I learn the truth about why he's been staying away, and have to make a decision about how to deal with certain physical, ah, instincts he can't control.
Now our lives are on the line while we fight our way through the Aboa, and our hearts?
We can't avoid acknowledging them any longer, or we won't make it out alive.
*This is the fourth in a series of steamy connected standalones. Humor and HEA guaranteed!

We weren't perfect...but we made each other happy. And to me, that was so much more than enough.
4.5 stars!
I was excited to finally have Flood and Ayla's story after reading through the other Kings and their mates, and I was not disappointed. Even though Flood and Ayla have claimed each other as fated mates, they have yet to solidify their bond through the mating ceremony as both are convinced that they only want to be friends. Their seemingly easy-going relationship becomes even more complicated once Flood's possessive nature comes through, forcing Flood and Ayla to reevaluate what they want from their bond. I loved watching both Flood and Ayla slowly admit their feelings for each other. Once Flood pulled his head out of his ass, he was really sweet and protective towards Ayla. I've come to really enjoy this series, and I'm looking forward to the finale🖤
Tropes: fated mates, romantasy, friends-to-lovers, virgin heroine, deaf hero, forced proximity, secret pining, alpha jp hero, outsider heroine, magical fae world, slow burn, band of brothers, found family, STEAMY🔥

I could not wait to jump into this story immediately after reading the epilogue from book 3. I loved Flood and Ayla. Ayla was my favorite character throughout the whole series. I loved how she was already possessive over the world and kings. I enjoyed the way Ayla tried to handle the way Flood's people treated her. His self control on trying to give her what he thought she wanted was so sweet. I felt the passion and love between these characters. I felt this one was well written and my favorite of this series. I wish it would have touch a little more on the abandonment issues that happened in the Aboa but all in all this was a good story. I enjoyed the way these two communicated and work to try to better understand each other. These two were perfect for each other.
It was so enticing that I couldn’t put it down, this book grabbed my interest from the very first page. I had to know what happened next. The story is well written with a very good storyline. This series has five books. They are recommended for ages 17+ due to language and sexual content. Each book in this series is steamy connected standalones and follows a different couple with their own happily ever after, and the stories can be read in any order (but recommended to read them in order for best understanding) for they each end with a lead-in to the next couple's book. This is the fourth standalone book in the Kings of Destruction series. This a story about a woman named Ayla (Cier by her mate) and a man named Zoran (Flood by his people and by his mate when his magic possesses him), who is the King of Floods. She’s in a city full of fae who despise her because of her magic, with a mate who doesn't have time to see her. She’s about decided to move to the earth fae lands when someone wakes the Mother of All Monsters, and Flood decides she has to go with him into the Aboa to put her back to sleep. When she calls him out for avoiding her, she learn the truth about why he's been staying away, and has to make a decision about how to deal with certain physical instincts that he can't control. Now their lives are on the line while they fight their way through the Aboa, and their hearts. They can't avoid acknowledging them any longer, or they won't make it out alive. So with all that and more this story pulls you in and holds you tight. I can’t wait to read the next story in the series. I highly recommend to everyone.
This is the forth book in the Kings of Disaster series and like the others, can be read as a stand-alone but is better with the others.
Ayla has become an earth Fae since leaving earth for this world, but fate has paired her with the King of Floods, Flood/Zoran. She’s finding it hard as now they are back in his kingdom she’s seen very little of him and is finding it hard to be accepted by the other water Fae. So much so she’s considering leaving to see if the earth Fae will accept her.
When Flood senses his mate has been hurt by one up his guards he becomes very protective. The magic took his hearing so communication is by signing which makes their conversations interesting, though he can hear Ayla through their bond when she’s close enough.
With the Mother of all Monsters having been woken Flood needs to go back into the Aboa to stop her, and he insists Ayla goes with him as he can’t be apart from her. Being together finally they start to be more honest with each other, and she learns things from the other water Fae who join them. But the Mother of Monsters isn’t their only problem or enemy.
This was a great read, full of magic, adventures, misunderstandings, romance, humour, and brilliant twists. Some great revelations in this and I can’t wait to read the next in the series, about Granite and his mate.

Ayla y Flood.
Meh. I wanted to like this one more. I had hoped I would but it mostly felt very boring in comparison to the previous books.
Zoran was ofc the most interesting character. He was a big softie and I loved him. Ayla was okay imo. There was truly nothing that stood out about her or anything that made her more likeable to me either. She was average and well, boring. I didn't find her all that interesting and I didn't care for her jumping to conclusions because of how her parents treated her. Especially when she was upset that Zoran didn't just open up to her about his concerns and why he put distance between them when the door swung both ways.
Anyway, they were cute together but ultimately the most boring and uninteresting couple of the group. Frankly this story was being boring all in all. Aside from their time in the Aboa putting The Mother back to sleep that is. Even confronting his asshole brother and killing him was a waste of time for how little it matter or affected the story.
I finally picked up Flood's books! Since their introduction, I was curious about these characters. Ayla has transformed into an earth fae since leaving her home, but fate has linked her to Flood, the King of Floods. Now back in his kingdom, she struggles to connect with him and feels out of place among the water fae, even considering returning to her own kind.
When Flood senses that Ayla has been hurt by one of his guards, he becomes fiercely protective. With the Mother of all Monsters awakened, Flood knows they must return to the Aboa to stop her, insisting that Ayla accompany him because he can’t bear to be apart. As they finally spend time together, they begin to open up, and Ayla learns from the other water fae who join their mission. However, the Mother of Monsters isn’t their only challenge.
This was a fantastic read, packed with magic, adventure, misunderstandings, romance, humour, and exciting twists.
The King of Disaster for the water fae land, is Flood. His true name is Zoran and his mate is Ayla who is an earth fae, although she was once human. Finding out that Flood’s brother Crest has awakened the big bad parent Monster, Helial, Flood is livid. Flood, Ayla, and two female and two male water fae go down to deal with Helial and put her back to sleep. Afterwards, he talks to his fellow Kings to find where his brother and mate went. Finally, Ayla and Flood actually “talk” as his magic took his hearing so he doesn’t talk much. Although he can hear Ayla because they are mates.
After a lot of misunderstandings, mischief and mayhem, they complete their bond. So many revelations in this book! I really enjoyed it and I can’t wait to read the final book, about the boy that Quake and Harper took in, Granite.

I enjoyed Ayla and Flood's story. Their relationship seemed like it took the longest to develop into something more compared to the rest of the couples. However, I enjoyed their story a lot. They basically went full circle when it came to basically going to the underworld, except this time Flood was more aware and focused on his mission. Ayla had a near death experience, but it truly added more to their story. I wish Flood's brother Crest had made better choices and didn't let jealousy affect his relationship with his brother, but it was doomed from childhood. I like the change that happened to Flood after him and Ayla sealed their bond. This story had suspense, betrayal, jealousy, romance, love and more. I'm definitely looking forward to Grantie and Dove's story.
while still enjoyable overall, i was not nearly as satisfied with the romance in this book than with the rest. mabey thats because i was excited for what i was expecting (flood to eventually whip out his plans to woo her) but instead got something a little different (his possessiveness kicking in when he started losing control of his instincts). flood striked me more as the quiet sickeningly sweet romantic type, and all the possessiveness kicking in when and how it did just didnt match that for me :/ but i loved that he got his hearing back at the end, especially since quake didnt get his sight back. and i love how alya eventually found the peoples favor thru her actions in the aboa and with the guard who stabbed her

3.5. This wasn’t my favorite of the series, though I loved Flood as a character. Ayla was just ok, I found her annoying at times. It’s frustrating when a character immediately questions things she *just* received confirmation on like a conversation before. Flood told her a few times very clearly how he felt and her inner monologue was still like “I don’t know how he feels about me.” I understand some of that is her trauma/personality but it gets taxing as a reader. Still enjoyed their story and their friendship to lovers was a nice journey to see. I found myself smiling and laughing at some of their banter and antics.
A decade ago, four kings of fae lands killed a fae who held immense power. The power settled on the kings when the old fae died, but on top of their existing well of power it was too much and drove them insane. Human women were abducted in hopes of bringing the kings out of their insanity with a mate bond. This is the story of Flood, king of the water fae. Honestly, I wasn’t planning to read this book. I didn’t much like Flood from the other books and wasn’t keen on his bonded human, Ayla, either. I wasn’t sure I cared enough about them to read their story. I’m really glad I did. Understanding their characters better definitely helped me to like them more, and the story was very good.
I cannot wait to read that book. This one was no let down at all. Ayla and Floods friendship and completely honest misunderstandings of how to navigate a relationship are easy to sympathize with. My heart hurts for the ending and I want to freaking hug both those children for what will undoubtedly be a monumental screw up by not just listening to the magic and letting those two children fix each other as fated mates are obviously meant to. Well meaning parents and all it's still horrible advice.
Lol this was like when in one of those movies where both characters are secretly inlove with each other but won't make a move. And you're just there screaming at the tv for them to just make a move.
Yeah i mean they both want each other but both thinks the other wants friendship when it's so obvious they are totally inlove.
So i know this sounds like the annoying type of miscommunication but it wasn't. They kind of quickly figure out how the other feels when they're forced to spend time together haha.
Ayla is lonely and has been waiting for Zoran to make a move. Zoran has been spending more and more time away from Ayla because he wants her so much but, he is trying to respect her feelings as she said that she only wants to be friends. With irritating relatives, intervening monsters, and misunderstandings, this book is a roll coaster ride filled with romance, action and steam, this book is all you need to take you away from your own existence into the fun-filled life of the fae. 5 stars!
Lola's work is always exactly what I need when I pick it up, and Controlling the King of Floods was no exception. I was completely submersed in Flood and Ayla's story. As always it was a lot of fun watching them dance around their bond. Between their communication issues and cultural differences it was an absolute treat. I'm looking forward to the upcoming novella to finish out the series.

3⭐️.5🌶️ As it turns out, I don’t like any form of the miscommunication trope. This one was presented as both characters were too inexperienced to know how to communicate with each other in a healthy way that would benefit their relationship. That said, this wasn’t a bad story. Will I forget it by the end of the year? Maybe. Probably. I’d still probably recommend it to a friend that wanted a quick fantasy read.
The whole things surrounding flood being dead was slightly confusing. If I understand p correctly he could hear her with magic once they sealed the bond. And he could speak but just couldn’t hear himself… only person he spoke out loud to was Ayla when they were alone. I liked the ending when they officially made their vows. The beginning was frustrating because it was kind of like a miscommunication trope. But I liked the book.
Love this series more and more with each book. I really hope there is another about the next generation. I love getting lost in this world. Definitely going to buy the physical copies.

Controlling The King of Floods is the 4th book of the Kings of Disaster Series. The world and Character development were great. I absolutely loved Ayla and Zoran’s story. It was full of adventure, action and a dash of spice and an HEA. Such a good book! I’ll be on the lookout for further installments to this series!
I’m conflicted. I really liked both the MMC and the FMC. I loved their characters and I liked that there really wasn’t any change to their personalities, they were green flags from the beginning.
I didn’t like that major things happened and then it was just glossed over after the fact. It’s happened throughout all 4 books and it truly bothered me.
Im really enjoying this series of books, I love how the characters appear throughout the series and how their lives entwine together. I’m looking forward to reading about granite & dove and will probably go back and reread the series at some point too, wish there were more books in the series.
Read it fast, kept my interest the whole way through. The sex scenes were really hot. I like the way this series transitions between the couples. I have read everyone and will read the next one in the series as well.

Despite the ultimate cliffhanger, this book left me wanting something mire. The storyline fully developed except it vaguely mentioned their first meeting. I have very little memory of that despite reading the previous books. Tis was not as smooth.
