Kingdom.com is a delightful read with a dark side. Set in London, fictional Ripon Cathedral needs financial help and the new vicar sets about to find it. What follows is a satirical progression of the slippery slope when church meets commercialism. While almost over the top at times, the results bear an uncanny likeness to some American churches desperate to get people in the door. It could be taken as comedic if the stakes were not so high. The author Thomas Braun knows of what he writes about as he is a marketing director as well as parish priest. This book would be a great read for church leaders followed by discussion within their ranks.
