In retrospect, Irby’s look on life can be seen as a distinct color, a mediation of life, into his anxiety driven life in the Bay Area. There’s a sense of excitement but also existential dread that is hovering throughout his work. Definitely appreciated the journal entry format of the poems, kind of gives the reader a more personal perspective
