First Murder

Rate this book
A detective for less than a day, Tony de Luca is summoned by his new partner, veteran investigator Ray Bankston to an address in Highland Park in the early morning hours. Much loved Dee Fredrickson's brutal murder, his first, seems unsolvable. They've got no science, nothing even resembling a motive, and no suspects. But under Ray's watchful eye and direction they begin to peel back the layers as they get into the lives of Dee's best friends, the 'Go Girls'. With dogged determination Tony and Ray grab a thread...a liquor fuelled escapade on their trip to LA they year before ended badly. The kid rooming with Dee's son might have been out there at the time. Could there possibly be a connection?

Loved this book. Did'nt know who did it till the end, which is the way I like Mystery books to end. This is the first book I've read where the people of interest were a group. And in order to know that, you have to read the book. I feel all the characters make an impact and are hard to forget. I also have to say that Fred has done it again. I'll definitely read everything he writes. I also like how his main characters have a certain something that separates them from the rest. Hard to describe what that is, but it is there.

This was an enjoyable book that resembled a fictionalized 48 hours. A new detective goes on his first murder investigation with his very experienced partner. I felt as if I was discovering things as they discovered them. I did not know who did it until their suspicions zeroed in on the perpetrator. I received this free with my Kindle subscription.

Delightful book. (Yeah, I know. It's a crime book. It should be anything but) The story follows a rookie detective in his first case and it is told with open-eyed candor. Well defined characters and good plot.

Interesting story, likable characters. A bit of shifting from one character's point of view to another's that was a little confusing at times. Looking forward to more by Limberg.

Give this one 3 1/2 stars really. Pretty good mystery that follows a young police detective on his first murder assignment. He does okay with a difficult case.

I didn't like the 'new guy' for most of the book but the plot and writing overcame the obstacle. His book ferris bluff was great
