Baphomet's Agony

Rate this book
The mere fact you're reading this means that it has all gone wrong and I'm probably dead so excuse all the blood. This is a love story; my love story. Girl meets boy, she starts up a Norwegian black metal group, they have satanic orgies, everyone tries to murder them, people die and churches get burned. It's just what you'd expect of a black metal love story. It's going to be loud, outlandish and gruesome.

A fantastic almost-parody, almost-retelling of the Norwegian black metal scene of the early 90's--particularly the events involving the band Mayhem and their associates. It's a crude, vulgar, and very cleverly funny story about a band intent on eroding the moral fabric of Scandinavia through well-crafted black metal music. Imagine all of the horrible things extreme metal music was associated with in the 90's (every single one) and shove them all together; the result is this very self-aware, parodic novel. If you want something that celebrates extreme music as much as it makes fun of it, then do yourself a favor and grab this book. It's a pretty wonderful book.

tl;dr; if you like metal and making fun of metal, get on this book. For fans of Spinal Tap, Dethklok, and other weird comical things associated with music.

Sex, drugs, rock'n'roll? This book is way beyond just that. There's orgies, violence and heavy metal, and if you're a fan of dark, wild music bands that rise up against the society and life we're used to, this book is exactly what you need.

Its young characters are free, wild and adventurous. What harm can it do? Well, you're gonna have to read to find out, because it's not the only things that they are.

Dark, twisted and manipulative with some strange historical context

Fantastically dark and twisted version of a love story. Marta is a fantastic author. Rated 5 stars for being an interesting read with that hard to put down quality. Would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys the darker side of story telling and again anyone with a twisted concept of love and manipulation
