Birth made her a slave. Love made her a martyr. He’ll make her his queen.
Welcome to Eden. Born without magic into a brutal world where mage abilities determine survival, Vaza didn’t think her life as a breeder-queen could get any worse.
Not until a cult leader declares her identical twin must be sacrificed to resurrect a dead god. Vaza plans to destroy the prophet’s credibility by seducing him into breaking his sacred vows. To get close enough to ruin him, however, she’ll need to infiltrate The Order and do the one thing she fears most -open her heart and allow Brex to claim more than just her pleasure.
Book two in the Dark Eden sci-fantasy series, where the lines between enemies, allies, loyalty, and love blur beyond recognition.
Told in two colliding and scorchingly hot timelines that will leave readers questioning who the real monsters are.
J. Ember Hintz writes fantasy and paranormal romance because the real world has too many monsters and not enough magic.

Book Review: Scars of Seduction of Sacrifice is book two in this sci-fi Dark Eden book series. It is a sci-fi fantasy but it’s intertwined with mythology and the gods. I don’t usually read sci-fi but I enjoy shows and movies of it so I wanted to give this series a try and I now have read both books in the series and i definitely recommend reading book one! It’s a fully immersive experience that you can’t help but fall into. The plot, characters, and the story are really good! This book has epic world building They are fully faceted and you feel like they are all good friends to you. I loved Brex and the banter between him and Vaza he is a toasty marshmallow tough outside and soft inside and you really can’t help but love them both. I love how the two characters timeline crash together and meld so perfectly we are left with a huge cliff to hang from so I’m patiently waiting for book three! You definitely do not get bored like I said it has the gods, enemies to lovers, and the most favorite troupe for me in this book above the enemies to lovers is the which side do you fall on? You get all the feels in this book and it’s 💋 muah! Again the chemistry between the two is amazing and the spice as a result of it all is just incredible.

The second installment of the Dark Eden Books was a truly wild ride! We begin by meeting a new FMC in what is seemingly a completely different world. This new universe Hintz has created along with multiple timelines is albeit complicated but so vivid and interesting. The world building was thorough and most things were very well explained which made for an easy read. The character development was fantastic even with our new couple having a bit of instalust I found their relationship genuine and their banter was *chefs kiss*. Book 2 follows Brex and Vaza as they try to save their crumbling world though they have opposing views on how to do that along with their navigation of their strict political system. We also have scenes with Liam and Renae from Book 1 Garden of Echoes and Ash as they try to get back to Earth and simultaneously save it from the impending alien invasion. Meanwhile, there is a hidden evil who is working to rule over both sides of this coming war.
The way the author wove both worlds together towards the end was truly incredible. I flew through both of these books and I truly am itching to see what happens in book 3 as the second ended on a crazy cliffhanger. This will keep you on the edge of your seat as you fall for these characters and yearn for all of their success.
**My only gripe was Liam and Renae STILL lying to each other over and over like all that time in the Void didn't teach them to communicate and trust each other?!
I really liked the opening to this book with Vaza being the wraith. What a great way to start this book! This is the second book in the Dark Eden series by the author btw y’all.
I really like this author’s writing style in these books overall for the Dark Eden series and I really have become a fan of her books.
This is Vaza and Brex’s story intermixed with POV’s from Liam and Renae, who we meet as readers in the first book of the series. However, this can be read as a standalone book If you haven’t read the first one, you should read the first book to hear Renae and Liam’s story so you can understand why they are on the island in this book.
Vaza is a breeder-queen who doesn’t exactly get to choose her mates unfortunately, but she has gotten the title of “killer-queen” as she kills the mates after she goes through the mating ritual. She comes into contact with Brex. Brex is the commander who wants her sister to be sacrificed to a god in order to resurrect him from the dead. I love these interactions between these two and I think they have great chemistry throughout the book.
I also love the ending of the book and how it all works out for this book at least😉 There seems to be more to come with this book series and I for one cant wait as I have found a new favorite author!!
𝙐𝙣𝙞𝙦𝙪𝙚. 𝙋𝙚𝙚𝙣. If you needed a reason to read this book, that is it. That. Right there. Look, this is my happy place. If the male characters have some 𝑢𝑛𝑢𝑠𝑢𝑎𝑙 situations going on down south, I am 𝗲𝗰𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗰. You add an amazing 𝔣𝔲𝔠𝔨𝔦𝔫𝔤 story on top of it, and we’ve got a 𝘣𝘰𝘸-𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘬𝘢-𝘸𝘰𝘸-𝘸𝘰𝘸 situation going on. I know you know what I’m talking about. ✨𝑖𝑛𝑠𝑒𝑟𝑡 𝑒𝑦𝑒𝑏𝑟𝑜𝑤 𝑤𝑎𝑔𝑔𝑙𝑒✨
But really, I absolutely adore how the storylines were woven together in this book. We were given a continuation of the building relationship between the couple from the first book, while simultaneously meeting a new female main character and her love interest. They dominate throughout this one and give some much needed — and wanted — insight into the underlying mythology. And people, 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘰𝘯. It was so 𝔣𝔲𝔠𝔨𝔦𝔫𝔤 good. The anticipation I have for the next book

"Our experiences change us, and I look forward to getting to know who you've become." ⠀ ⠀ J. Ember Hintz, Scars of Seduction and Sacrifice⠀ ⠀ ⠀ Scars of Seduction and Sacrifice by J Ember Hintz is such an epic fantasy with rich world building, including multiple dimensions and supernatural realms. I was happy to see more of Liam and Renae's storyline as they fight for one another and to get out of their purgatory in the Void. I felt like their connection deepened so much throughout the story and I'm on pins and needles for the next book! ⠀ ⠀ The book also introduced a new pair of enemies to lovers, Vaza and Brex, and they are a matchbook-thrown-into-gasoline level hot! They have such a snarky back and forth relationship that was so much fun to read. I enjoyed all of the lore around their gods, powers, and politics. The book started off strong and just picked up the pace to an explosive finale that left me with more questions than answers. If you love unique sci-fi stories with tons of spice, this series is perfect for you!⠀
Scars of Seduction and Sacrifice By J. Ember Hintz ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4/5 🌶️🌶️🌶️ 3/5 I stepped out of my comfort zone with this one and I’m so glad I gave it a chance. This book was so different than what I’m used to but it was fresh and new and I enjoyed it. This science fiction fantasy took me to new places and an incredible adventure. I was drawn into the world that the author drew out for this book, incredibly descriptive. The main characters Vaza, Brex, their banter was so fun and their chemistry was ever evolving and building. Brex was unique to say the least and that gave way to some spicy scenes. Liam and Renae made an appearance in this book as well so it definitely would help if you have read book 1 in the series Gardens of Echos and Ash. Major cliffhanger at the end will leave you anxious for book 3. I definitely recommend this book even if it’s not your normal genre.
I was worried I would not be able to follow along and understand this different universe. I didn’t read book 1 first. But man, I’m so happy I was wrong! This was such a good book. It was easy enough to follow along and slowly understand the differences in their worlds. It tells of two different sets of people in seemingly completely different worlds. It really does great at making you wonder how it will all come together in the end. I really liked that, even though there is a sci-fi aspect, it wasn’t overly descriptive in setting the scenes. Sometimes in new worlds, the characters get lost in trying to make you understand this new place. That wasn’t a problem here, and it was more enjoyable because of it. I will definitely read Book 3 to find out what happens.
I really enjoyed this book. The world that the author built for this series is wonderful. Instantly, I was drawn into this world. Where Vaza is concerned, I felt for her. She gave up a lot to save her sister. So, you could say that I was fully, emotionally invested in her and this story.
I love Brex. Snarky characters are my weakness and so entertaining. The banter between Vaza and Brex kept me engaged. This just added to the buildup of chemistry between these two. Which lead to some steamy scenes.
Brex is not a bad guy. He may have acted tough but underneath that tough exterior, he does have a heart. One that cares for Vaza. I really liked Vaza and Brex together. I do look forward to reading book three. Love the sci-fi/fantasy mix together.
I was fortunate enough to have been able to receive this book as an arc! Thank you @rrbooktours. The cover is simply beautiful! I love a good cover. This book is the second within the Dark Eden Series. I really enjoyed the Garden of Echoes and Ash and was thrilled to be able to get to read this one as well. More of Liam and Renae come to light within this book and then you have Vaza and Brex. Their chemistry is something else. Their back and forth is what keeps you wanting to read the book to see where they end up.I really loved Vaza’s character. She’s loving, strong willed and will do whatever it takes for her sister. Brex is tough on the exterior but within him he has a soft spot for Vaza and seeing that come to light is everything.
Book 2 in the Dark Eden series by J. Ember Hintz, “Scars of Seduction and Sacrifice” is another fresh take on sci-fi romance mixed with mythology. Following Vaza and Brex we find a new love story in a coordinating timeline to Renae and Liam in “Garden of Echoes and Ashes”.
I enjoyed how Hintz introduces a new couple and more into this universe that she’s created. The book draws you in and holds your attention and the romance is phenomenal. It’s amazing when the timelines collide and the couples meet and things tie together.
The cliffhanger though! You’re going to be pining for book 3 immediately. You’re going to want to devour this series!
Scars of Seduction of Sacrifice is the second book in the Dark Eden series. It is a sci-fi fantasy with mythology mixed in. I have read both books in the series and love them! The world building is excellent and the character development gives you a chance to really get to know the characters. The first follows Renae and Liam and this one follows Vaza and Brex . I love when their timelines mesh and they all meet! The banter between Vaza and Brex is awesome. It ends on one heck of a cliffhanger and I can’t wait to read book 3 to find out how it all unfolds.
This sci-fi series pulled me in and it was easy to get lost in this story. I loved the additional characters and really enjoyed their story.
With enemies to lovers, goddess/god, and whose side are you on vibes, this book was a delight to read.
Things really heated up in the end where the two couples finally meet and the story started to all weave together then ends in a cliff hanger that leaves me waiting more!! I can’t wait to see what happens.
I’m absolutely screaming at the end of this book and need the next immediately. I loved the blend of sci-fi and fantasy that this series has and I absolutely love the character dynamics. The imagery in the void was fantastic and the depiction of Liam’s addictive mindset was absolutely heartbreaking every time. I’m so glad we got more of Renae and Liam while we were being captivated by Vaza and Bex. The way the storylines came together at the end was fantastically done and left me desperate for the next book!
Started off so strong but the thing about books is the way it ends can ruin it all. I was so confused by the writing at the end when describing things that are happening without using names because it was constantly switching between characters and worlds. The author just wrote “taken by him” and I dont know who “him” is because characters dont know each other and there are 5 others hims involved. It left me wondering wtf just happened.
This was the second book in the series and I literally devoured both books over the weekend. I couldn’t put it down. This science fiction fantasy mythology book was an adventure that doesn’t seem to be over yet. I loved getting to see Renae and Liam grow and evolve. I also really enjoyed getting to know Vaza. Dying over here to know what’s going to happen next.
Scars of Seduction and Sacrifice is book two in the Dark Eden series, and it is an excellent, spicy, and romantic read. This is an enemies to lovers read with well written characters. I really enjoyed the plot of this book, it was fast paced for me and kepy my attention really well. Readers who enjoy fated mates and ancient prophecies with a romantic center will love this book.
Gosh, I absolutely LOVED the first one in this series and I was so excited to continue. I loved the introduction of new characters while also getting POV chapters of the characters from book one. I think where I struggled was with the world building in Scars of Seduction and Sacrifice. Over 100 pages in and I still wasn't sure what the MC's race was exactly or how this world intersected with the world from the first book.
By time I figured it all out I was exhausted and ready to move on, even though the romance aspect was compelling.
I am going be brutally honest I was bit bothered about Vaza's character in the beginning (love and hate relationship ) . I am Team Liam and Renae as you can tell. I love their sweet and protective relationship , but most of all that ending was everything. Can't wait to read book 3!
The book started off strong. I looked forward to the Vaza plot line more than the original main character. The second half of the book was extremely confusing because half the characters looked different and there were so many new names I found myself confused a lot.
I really love how this series keeps me on my toes. However, I would LOVE for Liam to find a more meaningful nickname for Renae that’s NOT “chica”. I cringe every time I read him saying it.
