Ugh, this is another one of those annoying romances where towards the end when shit hits the fan and it looks like the hero has betrayed her, she refuses to listen to his explanation and she immediately abandons him and he has to chase her around trying to explain himself for a long time while she is ignoring all his voicemails and texts and calls and is refusing to see him.... And then once she finally listens, turns out it's all some big misunderstanding....
Is anyone else so tired of that?

Their romance was also boring honestly. The chemistry was lacking and them knowing each other literally had no relevance to their romance. I have no idea why he likes her. And you also never find out why he doesn't have women on staff.

The story was extremely forgettable...

he let her down in front of ex

I wasn’t a fan of the single POV, we didn’t get Nox’s voice so no understanding of his reasons for doing things.

Speaking of which, the fake engagement publicity stunt with his ex that led to late in book breakup? Didn’t track with me. It was fake, he tried to stop the release of it but yet when the ex showed up at his house he totally disrespected Izzy by choosing to placate the ex, not tell the ex Izzy was his girlfriend, letting the ex move her stuff upstairs to his room (which by then was Izzy’s and his room), allowing ex to paw at him etc etc. all of that could have been prevented by simply saying NO when the ex showed up at the door. By saying “This is my girlfriend” when introduced to Izzy. By immediately saying the engagement wasn’t real the moment it was released.
Instead there was this really really vague excuse of “Honey (the ex) was complicated and needed to be handled”. No she didn’t. She knew engagement was fake, she asked him for the favor!

He let his girlfriend feel horrible, let her feel discarded right in front of his Ex and it never was addressed. He never said sorry about that moment, never groveled. Just did an interview on espn that engagement was fake and said sorry during interview on it.

Maybe if we’re had his POV it would have made me feel a little more forgiving to his character but honestly he wasn’t redeemed. It was very very emotionally upsetting moment for Izzy when the ex showed up and that moment itself and the disrespect showed to her by Nox and the ex was never addressed. Just the fake engagement. Not that moment of pain. It was like a flashback of high school when he didn’t defend her publicly because of what people would think and here again he chose to placate someone else instead of choosing her in the moment.

I ended up not liking Nox and feeling disappointed in Izzy for giving in like she did without addressing that initial confrontation and feelings with ex and Nox. It was a let down and I probably won’t read author again. The book was just regular so so but that ending ….. 🙄

I really disliked the H, Nox. And it was only a single POV narrative from a somewhat pathetic h. Isabella had moments of gumption as the story went along, but only getting her POV wasn't the best.

As a result, I thought Nox had an annoying personality, and he was really quite unlikeable. He never grew on me because of the lack of insight on his part.

However, the writing is really well done. It's very engaging with a smooth flow. It kept me reading nonstop. There was never a lull in the narrative that made me want to stop reading. But tbh, I didn't like Nox or his lame excuse for their conflict, and I didn't like the rushed and all-is-forgiven ending. And I really hate when the h blames herself for the H being a shady D-- but that's my personal opinion. Anyway, that doesn't change the fact that I gobbled this right up.

Une romance agréable qui se lit vite et facilement. C’est une lecture sans prise de tête^^
J’ai plutôt bien aimé l’histoire et la tension entre les protagonistes, mais j’ai trouvé que tout s’est déroulée un peu trop vite entre eux.
La psychologie des personnages n’est pas trop exploité et les soins de Lennox effacés; c’est dommage.
La fin m’a laisser un peu sur ma faim aussi, j’aurai aimé avoir l’avis de père d’Isabella concernant cette relation, l’avancée de cette relation quelques années plus tard… Il manquait quelques éléments importants selon moi et un épilogue^
Malgré quelques défauts c’est une bonne lecture avec des protagonistes attachants.

I really enjoyed this quick read it followed a physical therapist that gets assigned to work for a vip client that she doesn’t even know the name on the way to the first day of work she ends up rear ending her high school crush now famous hickey player they arguing and then she leaves only to find out that he’s her client everything works out in the end don’t worry between tension of the way the we’re reunited and the past that they share together plus throw in a fake fiancé that shows up out of nowhere and pretends she owns him kissing him everywhere there in for a bumpy ride but they overcome it all and take the chance on each other anyway

Isabella and Lennox

This was a new author for me. It had some different tropes- hockey, childhood enemies, parent issues. Alpha, grump, jealous. He falls at first meet, and she realizes she’s crushed on him since she was in HS. She has lots of inner dialogue doubts and low self esteem and it gets a little tiring. They have a few spice scenes. And they got a sweet HEA.

Nice read

I read a lot of hockey romances and enjoyed the characters and situation. The heroine being a physical therapist was interesting. Very likeable characters, including her boss and his friends, and an interesting twist at the end. I love a good HEA!

I love the spiciness and the story! The FMC is easily relatable! I wish it was told in dual POV to see what the inner workings of Nox's mind though... but it was still a great read! Off to the next in this little series!

Fake to real

Nox & Izzy

I enjoyed this quick read. Although for a book about a hockey player, there was only a small glimpse of actual hockey playing at the end. I was hoping for more of the sports aspect, but this was a really cute story. I loved how it went all the way back to how they met, the challenges they both carried with them, but opened up to each other about. Love wins 😍

Un libro bastante rápido, cliché y fácil de leer, con un protagonista al comienzo bastante gruñón e idiota, una protagonista que no se queda callada para nada. Me hubiera gustado que Lennox lo hubiera narrado también que eso fue lo que le faltó, para llegar a saber lo que pensaba, sentía .

Cuando Izzy es contratada como fisioterapeuta bajo acuerdos de confidencialidad, ella no sabe que esperar y mucho menos encontrarse con Lennox un amor antiguo del instituto, con quien acaba de chocar ni mucho enterarse que sea el a quien debe tratar..

Las primeras interacciones entre ellos no fueron bien, ya que sus personalidades chocaban bastante, por lo que  Izzy debía hacer un gran esfuerzo para no perder su trabajo, pero sus " disputas " traían también una gran tensión que fue creciendo a medida que pasaban más tiempo tiempo juntos. Así como los celos y sus sentimientos..

¿El único problema? todo lo bueno tiene un fin, tanto Lennox y Izzy tendrán que descubrir si podrán sobrellevarlo.

Izzy muss zu einem Auftrag und hat keine Ahnung wer ihr Kunde ist und ihre Hilfe braucht und dann baut sie auch noch einen Unfall auf dem Weg zu ihm. Lennox bekannter NHL-Star war schon vor Jahren der Traum ihrer schlaflosen Nächte, doch er lässt niemanden an sich heran und mit Frauen arbeiten ist nicht so sein Ding.

Die Geschichte wird aus Izzys Sicht erzählt und ist eine richtig schöne Liebesgeschichte, natürlich mit den diversen Ups und Downs, was genau das ist werd ich aber nicht verraten, denn ich hasse Spoiler.
Soviel aber sei verraten, dass Izzy in Lennox Gegenwart anders ist als sonst und seine Nähe löst etwas in ihr aus.

Ich mochte auch Kai sehr gerne, diesen witzigen Surfertypen, der immer für gute Laune sorgt und das Eis brechen kann. Auch Kiara Izzys beste Freundin ist ein Fall für sich.

Ein Buch mit viel Gefühl, hochkochenden Emotionen und einigen durchaus Kopfkino anregenden Sex-Szenen.

Bellissimo libro, molto inteso nei sentimenti ed azioni dei protagonisti.
Izzy e Nox si conoscono fin dal liceo ma non sono mai stati amici e lui neanche la considerava essendo uno l'opposto dell'altra, lui popolare lei nerd.
Dopo tanti anni lui sempre famoso mentre lei fisioterapista devono per forza lavorare insieme perchè lui deve tornare in forma per la stagione di hokey. Si innamorano ma la felicità dura poco perchè lui ha dei segreti e degli impegni che non prevedeva lei.
Lei lo lascia distrutta da quel che era nato tra loro e torna alla sua vita normale cercando di ricostruire i pezzi. Lui non sa più cosa fare.
Fino alla fine del libro il lettore non immagina cosa possa succedere tra i protagonista visti i molto colpi di scena.

Una novela romántica típica, aunque no por ello me ha disgustado. Izzy se reencuentra de la peor manera con el que fue su amor platónico
en el instituto, quién ahora es un famoso jugador de hockey sobre hielo, Nox. Por causa del destino, ella sera su fisioterapeuta. La trama de la novela me ha gustado, pero no he llegado a conectar del todo con la historia, ya que a mí parecer, necesita corrección de estilo. En algunos momentos he sentido que los personajes estaban sobreactuando y no me he llegado a creer nada. Aunque no quiere decir que ellos como personajes no me hayan gustado, pero no he conectado. Y el final me ha parecido muy exagerado. Eso sí, se lee muy rápido y para pasar el tiempo, está bien. En resumen, una historia romántica ligera para disfrutar en una tarde.

Isabella es fisioterapeuta y su jefa le dice que tiene que tratar a una figura muy importante del deporte, pero no le dice quién. Cuando Izzi lo descubre, se da cuenta de que es su amor del instituto. Lennox al principio no la reconoce por su cambio pero cuando ella se lo dice se acuerda perfectamente aunque no lo reconoce. Entre ellos nace una atracción que en seguida se convierte en algo más. Nox abre su corazón a Izzi, pero ella no está muy segura. Cuando aparece la ex de Nox publicando que es su prometida todo estalla, el no se defiende. Izzi se marcha pero antes de que salga su avión, ve la entrevista de Nox en la tele y todo cambia. Decide ir a por él y allí Nox le explica todo.
