A poignant portrayal of tragedy, forgiveness, and reconciliation. Book Three in A Family's Journey series. Sometimes when you pursue others' dreams, you find your own purpose. Six years after his wife's death, Jeff Geraldson has found love and marriage again with an independent, educated, lovely, but traumatized and lonely Scotswoman, Celia Whittenberg. His daughter, Emily, an open-hearted and talkative teenager, adjusts to a stepmother but pushes the boundaries of her father's intense protectiveness. Josiah, Jeff's adopted biracial son, navigates medical school and his growing relationship with Anh, the Vietnamese adopted daughter of Laura and Russ Marshall. Little does he know that his relentless quest to find his deceased mom's birthmother, who gave her up for adoption in the 1950s, may lead to startling answers about his own life.
