Heather Rainier

Heather Rainier lives and writes in South Central Texas. Her stories offer up the content of her fantasies, with humor, tragedy, and triumph mixed in.

Heather's love of romance fiction began as a teenager when her mom gave her copies of Kathleen Woodiwiss's "The Flame and the Flower" and Bertrice Small's "Skye O'Malley". To this day she's pretty sure that was her mom's version of the "birds and the bees" talk.

Heather writes the type of novel she loves to read: More erotic and edgy than the mainstream, with plenty of sweet romance mixed in and a happily ever after guaranteed. Heather's favorite type of hero is the gentle, lovable giant but readers will discover a wide variety of heroes and alphas on the pages of her novels.

When not at her keyboard, Heather is usually busy corralling her teenagers, or loving on her smokin' hot husband, who thankfully loves to cook.

Heather invites readers to e-mail her at heather.rainier@yahoo.com and also to visit her website at www.heatherrainier.com

As Doctor Emma Guthrie is contemplating her life as a future spinster, she does not realize she has caught the eye of Duke Rivers and Gage Randall. Although both men are attracted to her, the last thing they want is to have Emma think of them as a a patient, especially with the predicament Gage has found himself in.

The timing could not be better when Emma moves in the apartment below Gage and Duke, wanting to finally make their move they discover they have more in common than they initially thought. Each one of them has a bucket list and and agree to tackle the items all three of them have on the list, the first is to be involved in a menage.

This was fairly good, a bit different than the other Divine Creek books. I did enjoy the crossover with Nell from the Bliss series, plus all the favorites are involved at some point in this book. The settings were fascinating as they work through their lists, if I thought camping in trees would be as fun as they had, I might just give it a try.

I think this is the worst of the book in the series that I wasn't hooked into.

Emma Duke and Gage drew me in to this wonderful story. They meet when an arrow finds its way into his Gage butt! As embarrassing as it is, it allows for them to connect with Emma. Everything is going well until a woman from their past starts making waves. Will this be the end of what was beginning to be an amazing relationship?

Playing it safe has gotten Emma an invite to the local quilting circling and a fear of things outside her comfort zone. Now all she needs is a few dozen cats, a rocking chair, a blanket and at the ripe old age of thirty-seven she’ll be set to slip right on into old age…having never really lived. But ... not if two super cute and awfully sweet geeks armed with a bucket list have anything to say about it.

I simply adore a character I can relate to. It’s not that I have so much in common with Dr. Emma Guthrie on a professional level but I could easily relate to her feeling like she hadn’t done enough, seen enough, experienced enough in her relatively short life. All of that changes when the opportunity to cross off items from her personal bucket list presents itself in the form of cousins Duke and Gage. Not surprisingly, the sexual chemistry was pretty instant; it was the way their personalities matched up so seamlessly on a personal level that really made their story sing.

Do you ever try to picture an actor or actress playing the part of the storybook character? I pictured Sandra Bullock playing Emma. She’s “girl next door” pretty and a bit of an introvert waiting to burst out of her shell. Duke and Gage are the perfect catalyst to literally push her out of a plane, up a tree and into a smoking hot ménage relationship.

I haven’t read many “geek” charming books but if the heroes resemble these cousins I’ll have to reconsider. Don’t get me wrong, these aren’t pocket protector wearing nerds. They’re really just regular (hot) guys who happen to enjoy vegging out with a good Call of Duty game session with friends. Tracking and monitoring potential bad guys can be exhausting so I’d say they deserve some distraction and R&R. Lately, the distraction has been the sexy, sassy doctor downstairs.

Their Divine Doctor is technically a “short story” for Ms. Rainier even though it closes out at just shy of 200 pages. It’s fast paced and covers a long courtship over a short time. The story moves quickly from one month to the next, but Ms. Rainier makes the time change obvious at the beginning of each new section. Emma is a doctor who's on call more than she’s off and the boys tend to work out of town a lot so it wasn’t necessary to throw in conversations, shared meals or quickies for the sake of filling pages. The parts of their story that is given is rich with detail and fun dialogue. Ms. Rainier even works in the background for Gage to give readers a sympathetic understanding of his personality and how he and Duke came to be so close. It’s heart wrenching but with a happy ending.

The main premise of the story is Emma, Duke and Gage getting together and making a connection. However, there’s an underlying, and seemingly innocent, minor plot that causes a major wave in their lives towards the end. Overall, I think it was a necessary experience to show the characters they shouldn’t take their time together for granted.

Mr. Rainer does a splendid job of introducing some new characters and future stories within this holiday romp. I’m particularly looking forward to reading Clay’s story. The young lady who’s injured in front of his store seemed familiar to the clever jeweler and that’s guaranteed to mean fireworks when she recovers. I’m also curious to see if their story will involve another male lead (as all but one Divine story have at least two men) and if so, who will it be??

If you’re as totally absorbed by the folks of Divine as I am, you won’t want to miss Their Divine Doctor. It inspired me to create my own bucket list of things I’ve only thought about doing. As Gage, Emma and Duke discovered, there’s a whole world of exciting things to do and places to go if you just set your mind to experiencing life rather than simply talking about it. Pick up your copy today and be prepared to be swept into a world that is simply Divine.

Another winner from Heather Rainier and another excursion into the fictional community of Divine, Texas. This tale is a holiday addition to the Divine Creek Ranch series and highlights the experiences of three people who are now determined to live out their "bucket lists" and to do it together. Duke and Gage have been "in lust" with Dr. Emma for some time, especially since watching her make a sexy purchase at Discretion, the town's shop for sexy personal toys, books, and clothing. Now they are neighbors and finally begin forming ties of friendship that Duke and Gage would like to see grow into something more. Emma doesn't seem too opposed to that, either. Beautifully written, with updates on the other citizens of this community woven into the main story, this novel is a delight to read and such a fine addition to a series that has become a favorite among erotic romance lovers and those who can't get enough of those Divine cowboys.

Let me start by saying I love this story....ok now that that's out of the way. Dr. Emma Guthrie has been letting life pass her by, until two handsome men she had a run in with let her know under no circumstances are they willing to let her continue down this same path any longer... Duke and Gage have been interested in the lovely and shy doctor since the first time they saw her and now that they know a little more about her they want to get to know her a whole lot better....what's a better way to get to know someone than to check off items on your bucket list together....really a wonderful story about going after life and enjoying the bumps in the road....onto the next

Great story with Emma (doctor) , gage and duke (it consultant).
Gage and duke fell for Emma in last book when she went to summers shop for as Emma puts it perverted stuff.
The meeting romance and I love u r really quick in this book. Small mystery danger which is solved quickly.
This book just in time through year which doesn't usually happen in other divine book.
I can't believe that another amazing writer SO that's similar to HR is brought into book. Took me ages to figure out why Nell was so familiar, sadly it took me till it was spelled out. Great HEA.

This series is so full bodied and delightful. Love the deep feelings, thoughtful discussions, and hot sexy romance. Gage and Duke are perfect for Emma. They all need to connect and move on with life. The bucket list idea is fun. Grace has her baby and Emma gets to deliver her. Wonderful characters from previous stories are here as well. There is some awkward phrasing and the sex happens pretty soon after meeting, but it all smooths out quickly. The story is worth the read, and we always learn new things. Enjoy !!

I was eagerly awaiting this book and it kinda fell flat for me. I loved Emma and was excited about Duke and Gage pinning her down. I really like their bucket list but the story seemed missing something. It moved along quicker that the other Divine books and almost felt like an after thought. We had been teased so much in previous books that I just expected much more. Still a good read just not a great one. Plenty of steam!

This one is one of my favorites so far in the series. Once Emma got over being a stick in the mud, she was so much fun! I love the way that she, Duke and Gage embraced a relationship by getting to know each other through completing things on their bucket list. Their adventures made for some fun reading! I was glad that things weren't dragged out with Gage's stalker, because that was boring compared to the bucket list fun. I also loved how both families embraced the new members.

Back to some similar kinks that made this story a bit similar to the others but thoroughly enjoyed the scene in the doctor's office at the end. liked how Gage, Duke and Emma came out of their shells together chasing their bucket lists.

I would love to live in Divine, where one can be themselves with out to much prejudice. Gage and Duke first see Emma at Discretions. Emma is a shy doctor who is tired of the life she leads. One evening while talking with each other, they discover they each have a bucket list. What better way to get to know each other, then to complete items on their bucket list together. Will spending this time together bring them closer together? Can the shy doctor let her hair down and enjoy life and these two hot men? A must read.
