OPERATION: Foxtrot Five

Suddenly the road came to a dead end. Slamming on the brakes, Doug wrenched the wheel around and came to a skidding halt as he lifted one arm to shield his eyes from the powerful headlights and flashing lights of the patrol car now in front of him.

High five for Foxtrot Five!

For almost two years, Doug and his brother and sisters have been hiding out in Western Australia under assumed names. When Kerryn's teacher makes a 'practice' application for a tax file number into the real deal and sends in the forms to the government, the game is up.

Tipped off about Scott Backer, a detective specialising in missing children's cases, Doug (and ex-neighbour cum guardian Tori) are able to stay one step ahead of the police.

There's no way Doug's going back east - after his parents were killed in a level crossing accident, Family Services split the children up, sending them to different foster homes. Doug is determined the family will stay together, whatever the cost.

It was with the help of next door neighbour Tori that they got back together and have been on the run ever since.

But what Doug doesn't know is that, just before she died, his mother sent in some anonymous information to the authorities about a people smuggling operation. Without the full details, however, the case against the ringleader is a no-show.

Like the sequel Operation Delta Bravo, this first book in the Operation series tackles the question of whether it's appropriate to something against the law, even if it is for the right reason.
